It seems a lot of people are talking about this card in a negative light without truly realizing what this means for Hearthstone.
Rebuke is one of the first tech cards for aggro decks with negative tempo! Unlike the monster that came before named Loatheb that contains a 5/5 body to continue contesting the board, Rebuke requires a choice to be made.
Until now, there really were not a lot of choices while playing aggro decks, aside from, "which minion should I attack face with first?" Now you have to actually think, even if only slightly, do you play Rebuke with a weaker turn? Or do you put down more minions to threaten lethal and risk a wipe? Or, do you remove Rebuke entirely because it's useless against the current meta?
These are the kinds of cards we need in Hearthstone. Not more Call to Arms.
While I agree that it would be a good card for the game if it were played, it doesn't feel strong enough to me for it to be playable (at least for aggro).
In a control heavy meta, I think Rebuke will absolutely be played, but not necessarily played correctly in games. A lot of aggro only players are not always the best at predicting plays, which is what will be needed to make rebuke work.
I agree with you. Hearthstone does need more cards similar to Rebuke. But I honestly feel that Rebuke itself is the worst card blizzard has ever printed. Even worse than Backstreet Leper.
It's far from the worst card ever printed as it has a lot of solid situational uses, but I agree that it is a bit too weak for the hype it is receiving.

There's not much decision making involved though. Stuff on the board? Tarim in hand? Play the card.
Rebuke is powerful, yeah, but only if used at exactly the right moment. Loatheb could be used anywhen and woul always be a good play. 5 mana 5/5 is always a good play.
I don't believe any aggro deck would use this. Maybe we will one copy in control paladin (with Uther of the Ebon Blade). But rarely.
Rebuke is a tech card like Harrison or Black Knight.
Don't is auto-include but can be used if the meta calls, x1 in aggro paladin with a heavy control dominant deck in the meta is ok, like Harrison in a heavy weapon meta.
Rebuke sucks and will see 0 play post week 1. stop overhyping it.
Amazing, you seem to be able to look into the future, since only a small fraction of the cards have been revealed at this point and you're still able to give as exact time frames and numbers. :O
What happens if I play it after the first week of release? Will I cease to exist? Please share more of your wisdom immediately!

I follow releases on the forums since TGT I know what I am talking about. also I played with and against loatheb a lot.
Also played aggro paladin quite a bit got over 800 wins on papadin, wouldn't play this card cause it's a total loss of tempo.

You can't say that because you don't know what cards your opponent have in his hand, this card can be 2 manas "Do nothing" or "Opponente draw a card and get one mana Crystal and you get a extra turn" or even "Win the game" in very especific situations, so, say is "total loss of tempo" is wrong.

An even bigger loss in Tempo is being board wiped.

I'm sorry to tell you this, as it will be painful, but... You will die on April 9th in a terrible jetpack accident. Thus you will never be able to play this after 1st week of release.
Please live your life to the fullest for the short time you have left !

true.
anyway see no reason why should I play this card instead of a second copy of divine favor, this card is only good against control and so is divine favor, they cleared your board, and then you refill with DF or call to arms.
if this effect was actually worth 2 mana loatheb is 5/5 for 1.5 mana.
2 mana is a lot for something you don't even know it's impact your opponent will just opt to play a taunt or didn't even intended to cast a spell and you wasted 2 mana.
nothing like loatheb, it's overhyped and it won't see play in the end specially cause some classes got minion based board clears too.

Hmm, I had the feeling a jetpack accident would be my end, ever since I took that "How to mess up in jetpack travel" seminar. :/
Having said that, I still think it's too early to predict whether a card will see play or not, even less so to state that it will see absolutely no play at all after a very specific point in time. :D

I have no problem with the card, I have a problem with the fact it's for Paladin
