Card Explanation:
Inner Fire: There are many high health minions in this deck, having Inner Fire allows you to gain a potential tempo swing that your opponent has to spend his resource to deal with the buffed minion.
Northshire Cleric: Draw, we always like to draw.
Potion of Madness: Deal with the aggro. So many Aggro Paladin, Murloc Paladin, Aggro Hunter and even some Pirate Warrior is back.
[card]Power Word: Shield[/card]: 1 mana for draw and some more health, nice.
Divine Spirit: To beef up your minions and increase your bust potential by pairing up with Inner Fire --> Potion of Madness would be more suitable in the aggro meta.
Radiant Elemental: Same as Sorcerer's Apprentice, which is good for us to cast our cheap spells, and a solid 2/3 body for 2 mana.
[card]Shadow Word: Pain[/card]: Always good to have.
Kabal Talonpriest: Solid 3/4 body for 3 mana, and even better if we have a target to +3 health.
[card]Shadow Word: Death[/card]: Always good to have, to deal with buffed minions from Bonemare or Spikeridged Steed
Duskbreaker: A very good card from KAC. Help you to comeback on board with a 3 damage AOE.
Priest of the Feast: We need some healing for sustain, works well with out cheap spells.
Drakonid Operative: 5/6 for 5 mana is great and it provides so much value as well!
Holy Nova: Decent AOE spell, can trigger Northshire Cleric to draw some cards.
Netherspite Historian: Very likely we will get another Drakonid Operative, or other good situational dragons.
Spellbreaker: To target those sticky minions, such as Voidlord.
Twilight Drake: A nice turn 4 play, a body with at least 4/5 would already be decent enough.
Cobalt Scalebane: A solid 5/5 body and well synergized with the deck.
Book Wyrm: A decent single target removal and a nice 3/6 body as well. --> This card is removed since the meta currently has less priority 3 or less attack minions to deal with.
Upgrade:
What are keeps vs agro and control
Against aggro:
Definitely Shadow Word: Pain and Duskbreaker
And now I would reconsider adding back Potion of Madness
Against control:
Netherspite Historian if you have another dragon in mulligan
Drakonid Operative and Twilight Drake would be the best cards to keep
Sorry for the late reply.
Just finished the update for KAC.
I think both are very good options, especially The Lich King, since it gives you some more late game option for extended fight which is one of the weakness in current budget deck.
For Primordial Drake, it should work better in KFT meta than KAC meta since we face more higher health minions currently and so the dragon will be less effective than before.
