I think that Priest will maybe the only viable Kazakus deck after rotation.
Silence will be an important tool in the new meta and I will definitely try out something like this list!
Update:
The deck is fine for now and I will see how the meta will change when Un'Goro goes live this week and update the list after playtesting.
Update after playtesting:
THIS DECK IS AWESOME !!!
- PW Shield
+ Potion of Madness
I started playing at rank 5 and climbed up to rank 4 now - 5-0 I did not lost a single game!!!
I can try to upload a guide soon since the deck is not really the easiest one to pilot.
Update (11.04.17):
I was trying a lot of techs for a better match up against aggro and here are the results:
- Kabal Talon Priest
- Northshire Cleric
+ Tar Creeper (great vs pirate warrior)
+ Volatile Elemental (great early game minion + 1x more deathrattle = great for the quest)
Is there any potential for Lyra the Sunshard in this deck or are there not enough cheap spells?
Edit: I guess not (answering my own question).
Also, I was fairly decent with Reno priest in the last season, but this deck seems to fold almost instantly under the constant onslaught of Pirate Warrior, Murloc Shaman, Zoo Warlock, even Aggro Paladin. Since 90% of the decks are aggro, how did you achieve success with this deck? Any videos or play tips?
hey, Lyra does not fit - not enough cheap spells and I think it's a shitty card in general.
being an experienced reno priest player should give you an advantage playing this deck !
I can't upload videos and don't have the time atm to upload a guide but you can add me and watch me playing, it might help you ?!
Kazakus potion (with damage on all minions), dragonfire potion and holy nova are the main spells to clear the board. To deal with aggro you need additional swp or potion of madness, which you can discover through shadow visions. Its the most funnier deck i ever played, taking into account that i hate reno decks, but it's not reno. Kazakus -> jaraxus -> amara -> your opponent face - holy shit, so much joy.
Iv changed the shadow visions for a mind vision, mainly to deal with opponents quests stealing them. For example if you manage to pull the rogue one both you and them have 5/5 minions but his is packed with low mana maybe charge minions yours are deathrattles so in trades your better of, same with warrior he has taunts but if you manage to get rag hero power you blow up a taunt it's gone he kills yours they have death rattle.. I have been having alot more consistent wins with the small change would recommend trying it.
This is a great deck nice to see a pseudo reno deck is still viable allowing for the kazzakus plays to still exist.
you cant play two quests at once and you wouldn't be able to complete their quest anyway.
Edit: Nevermind that you most likely will never steal a quest.
Well if you go against the 2 other most seen quests in my ladder experience which are rogue and warrior, it is possible to steal and achieve the quests with some luck on the class card s from your death rattles, not always going to happen but possible but my intent was to steal the actual reward from your opponent which happens alot more often. If you can keep the mind vision in hand until they get the complete quest you will have most of the time a reasonable change to steal that quest reward. Iv had several games against both where I have stolen the rogue spell or warrior weapon of they go all in to complete it they tend to have a fairly empty hand when they get it
Challenge accepted
Deck looks great, but the amount of dust needed is @.@. I cannot afford that much dam.
I made an account just to comment on this deck :D, Thank you for making this deck since I was looking for a good Awaken the Makers deck. However I am struggling in my piloting of this deck against faster decks like Crystal Core rogue, Is it because this deck requires a high amount of skill to play ?
crystal core rogue is just a tough matchup, cant change alot about that
try and save your dragonfire potion for the moment the rouge goes "all in", then he is topdeck dependant usually.
If the rogue draws well, you have little to no chance. But if not, you can dragonfire, Kazakus into 6 damage potion and I'm using brewmaster for +1 Kazakus.
As psyched as I was for this deck archetype......
Too much moron decks. I haven't had a win since the release.
Let's face it guys. Priest got shafted again.
rogue is a pretty bad matchup
Honest question - does the fact that there's only 7 death rattle minions negate the real probability of a useful Barnes draw?
Nzoth
I really want to like this deck but getting crushed by Rogue or Druid with quest. It seems like there aren't enough deathrattle minions and it takes too long to complete the quest.
I also have that same opinion. It's really against control decks, but Rougue/Druid/Hunter I seem to struggle to win.
Look promising. I'm curious to see what happens to the stats with a bigger sample size.
I'd love to have a viable Highlander Priest deck in the new season.
