This Deck has been updated with the release of League of Explorers : Beast Master
Introduction
Hello everyone ! I'm Spark, Legend player from France.
It's been awhile since I posted anything there so I decided to do a little series sharing my current Decks (up to date with TGT) with minimal but informative guides.
Here are the Decks that I'm currently using and hit Legend with :
- Midrange Hunter : Beast Master
- Midrange Paladin : Battle Master
- Control Warrior : Shield Bomb
- Tempo Shaman : Elemental Spirit
- Demonlock : Demonic Zoo
- Handlock : Giant Shield
Those are generally pretty standard lists, although there is still my little mark on it, and are all Legend viable. I'm pretty sure you can find something fitting your playstyle and taste ;)
General Strategy & Mulligan
You are not playing Face Hunter ! You should always control the early game with your cheap minions. Eaglehorn Bow and your secrets will help you keep momentum in the midgame to begin pressure the opponent's life with your Midrange minions and hero power.
Remember to always check for lethal before doing your play. If you don't have it, you should probably work towards setting it up for the next few turns as you'll then run out of steam. Else, keep fighting for board control.
Always mulligan for Webspinner, Mad Scientist and Haunted Creeper as your early plays. Keeping Knife Juggler and Ironbeak Owl is also pretty standard. Animal Companion and Eaglehorn Bow should be kept if you have The Coin or some good early already. Piloted Shredder can be kept against slower Decks like Control Warrior and Hunter's Mark is not bad to have in your starting hand against Priest.
Always throw out the rest, especially your secrets !
Match Ups
Druid is generally a favorable match up as long as they don't go into amazing Innervate plays. Always be careful of their combo, Loatheb can help preventing it.
Hunter is a tied match up, you really want to mulligan hard for early minions to gain board control and start winning the race.
Mage is a really favored match up. Unless it is Mech Mage, then you'll really need strong hand and draws to counter it. Always keep Eaglehorn Bow to fight early stuff.
Paladin is not that hard to handle but Shielded Minibot and Mysterious Challenger can be really painful sometimes.
Priest is a tied match up. You'll need to play on curve and snowball into Piloted Shredder and Savannah Highmane to put your opponent in a reactive state. Be careful about an early Northshire Cleric, Eaglehorn Bow is a must have here.
Rogue is generally a hard match up due to their early control and late game Sap, but the class is not really played anyway.
Shaman can be painful when they have perfect Lightning Storm and Hex, but your sustain damage will generally be too overwhelming for them. A strong Knife Juggler into Unleash the Hounds play should do the job to snowball the game.
Warlock is generally a favored match up. Handlock can be hard to finish if you don't plan your lethal correctly. Don't give them free Molten Giant turn unless you have a good lethal plan with Kill Command.
Warrior is really easy to handle. If you have a negative winrate against them, you are definitely playing it wrong. Control Armorsmith and Acolyte of Pain with weapon and early stuff, then they'll just take damage by controlling with their weapons. Savannah Highmane is just too good in that match up because they can't deal with it properly. Be careful about Brawl plays, Loatheb can help in that regard.
Tech Cards & Replacements
The most flexible spot is Stampeding Kodo. I often used Kezan Mystic or Harrison Jones here, those are really great Tech Cards depending on your meta.
I'm currently using it because every Deck has targets for it and it's a good Houndmaster target. Keeper of the Grove, Shade of Naxxramas, Flamewaker, Doomsayer, Armorsmith, Acolyte of Pain, Shielded Minibot or some weak Aggro minions are all great target to keep your tempo up !
Ram Wrangler is not that bad but more of a fun card. I tried it a lot and it can lead to very funny situations but is generally not reliable enough. If you really want to play it, You should cut a Houndmaster.
Stranglethorn Tiger is a simple card that I also used a lot in that spot, it's a solid beast that won't be removed right away.
Flare can be used if you really face a lot of Secret Paladin. It will also help in the Mage and Hunter match ups.
Quick Shot is a good tool to have if you find a spot for it in the Deck. King's Elekk isn't convincing enough in my opinion due to the relatively low curve and load of 2 drops already.
Explosive Trap is an easy replacement for Snake Trap. You shouldn't hesitate to tweak the trap set up according to your meta but always follow the 3 trap rules ;) 2 Freezing Trap can be used against a Midrangy meta while Explosive Trap is great against Aggro Decks.
If you don't have Dr. Boom, you should definitely craft it as soon as possible. Sylvanas Windrunner, Ragnaros the Firelord, Sea Giant, Piloted Sky Golem or one of the card mentionned above can be used while working on it.
Closing
That's it for the guide guys, I hope you'll enjoy the Deck as much as I do !

It's not, apart from the fact that many people are now running King's Elekk and I don't. I don't quite get your question but the aim was not to present something unique ;)
I didn't mean any hate, but my main idea was that why should I play your version of the deck rather than something else? I want to look at my options and make a smart decision rather than picking blindly.
Well I honestly I don't know, I just share my decklists so people can judge by themself. Maybe this one fits more you playstyle, maybe it's another ^^
Just Reach Legend with the Deck from rank 4 !!!!! i'm so happyyyyy
Thanks you so much Man !!!!
Merciiiii :
Very nice, congratz ! Glad it helped =D
GJ!
Thanks mate :p
Hello guys, i actually cannot say much but I'm getting rly anger after every game. First of all, for all who wanna reach legend with this deck on EU i would say,-"there will be never an easy game". U will never hv an easy matchup. Since rank 8 u will face only: Control Warrior,Tempo mage, mech mage,Dragon Priest, Secret Paladin, Druids(aggro and...) and Face hunter. So what can i say about this matchups,-
1) vs Control Warrior - rly long game, where if u don't ged a tempo hand,u are dead. So this matchup is boring and u gonna love to just leave the game after he brawl u 2 times while u controlling the board. for me win rate was kinda goo actually, i played about 30 games vs control's and got about 60% winrate, but as i told u before, its all about tempo.
2) vs Mages, there is not much of mech's so, again - hand, no tempo = gg
3) vs priest so he got about 5-6 taunts, again if u hv a bad hand, I'm sry but u are not mage to clear this, and u hv only 1 owl wich u would like to save most of the time or play it to save yr tempo
4)secret paladins is always 50/50 if u hv an owl for turn 6, and wasn't get rekt by several concecrations while u was juggling his master for battle, u can owl him on turn 7 and u are gd, if uve done it well u are pretty much in a win condition.
5) druids - i played only about 7 games against aggro, and won only1, cuz u always keep in mind that he got 12 damage for turn 9 and since u don't hv any heal u tryin to clear the board and mostly of u fie, i won about 1-2 games. Better to play with no aggro druid, more than 50% win for me
6) face hunt 10% winrate, its just impossible to win, with no taunts, u ask me about houndmaster, and i will answer that 4hp taunt will not save u. Most of the times u will win because of his unlike, like hw didn't top decked skill command or something like dat. u need some heal in this matchup, cuz again, u don't hv any aoe, and while u slowly controlling the board and rdy to crush him, u will hv about 2-10hp.
I'm playing this deck for about 100+ games started from rank 5, gone to 8, and now I'm in 3 rank, I'm look like a pro with this deck, i even had a crazy winsteak 18-2 from rank 5 i guess, but then i gone back to rank 4 and to 5, and every day I'm getting about 20 wins 15-18 losses.
its difficult deck, not play, its difficult deck to win. Im sad about this, because i tried a lot of decks, best result was rank1, i never played handlock, freeze mage, control war, face hunt, never played this cancer deck and when u face them all over again u will love to crash...but not them,-hearthstone.
Pardon me for my English, I'm a guy from a foreign country so. Anyway i want to thank u spark for this deck, had some rly gd games. But its rly way too diff to win. I dunno what date u got legend with this deck, but now its seems impossible. I'm sitting 5-3rank for a 5 days and getting mad after every game.
Try it out guys and don't be mad on me cuz of my weird speech :P
If sum1 got legend with it at least from rank 3, tell me, maybe give some advice :D won about 1k games with mid hunt.
Also i want to share some PIC's as an examples of tough winning, just u to laugh, but i don't know how to post it :(
Hi there!
I've reached Legend in 3 days from rank 5 using ONLY this exact deck. Played aprox 70 games.
You're absolutely right, reaching Legend will never be easy, whatever deck you will choose, It's insane.
Three times I was in 1-2 wins near the legend and than rolled back to rank 3, this made me very angry.
Some tips:
1.Alwys keep Knife jungler+unleash hounds combo against Paladins, hunters. It's absolutely insane.
2.Always trade, if there is even small possibility of AOE from your enemy, untill you are near to the lethal.
3.Never play Knife Jungle alone, it's useless, choose other 1-2 minios to start the game.
4.Always keep Unleash Hounds in starting deck against hunters\paladins.
5.Always keep Hunter's Mark against druids\wariors\Priest(not so many of them at high ranks)
6.Always keep Loatheb against Mages\druids to prevent aoe\combo.
7.Always think about the possible end-game scenarios at the start of the game. It's a midrange deck, but to success your should push harder every single turn. If you won't - you can simply leave.
From many looses I've finally hitted the legend after 11 wins in a row.
Never give up and good luck.
I know that we both can speak Russian atm to each other, but since u answered me, can u add me and spectate for some games, maybe with yr advice i will get legend, if u hv some time, with no offense we can go Skype. I have to work, but this legendary pushing is killing me :P
One more important advise, If you are playing against druid or paladin or even warior,
never trade for a big minion like Fell Reaver or Buffed Secret Challenger unless you have a hunter's mark.
Kill all other minios and try to catch them on taunt\trap or make them trade for your minions or even your face. It's ok.
A lot of time I killed enemy with 15-18 health because he though he is safe, using kill comand bow and etc.
Hunters have one of the best burst, since we are not talking about crazy combos. Even Mages probably less dangerous.
I can only tell u that 90% of time i die cuz of bad start hand. With a coin there is more than 60% win, and I'm not calling myself as a noob i guess, i know all the deck that I'm playing against, and i know what to expect from them. Just want u to give me some ingame advice if its possible and maybe after that experience u will change my mind about every matchup:)
Ok, I will add you soon. Now I'm resting up after 3-days maraphoon with my fiancee. But I will be available tommorow from work. I understand your feelings, when you can do nothing except grinding Hearthstone. It's horrible. See you soon.
take yr time:) hope to see u soon
Hey man, sorry that you can't quite get the success we're having with the Deck.
Reading your comment, the big thing that I can tell is that you seem to do a common mistake many players (even in high Legend) are doing : playing to lose slowly instead of playing to win. Sometimes you have to take risks because you won't win games just by playing reactively to everything your opponent does ;)
Also, I feel like your mulligan is not quite right. You should mulligan hard for the early minions, with everything it has, you can't be so unsuccessful every game.
Last general tip, take breaks once you start losing. This Deck has an insane potential of win streaks as you said, and you should always try to grab them then take some breaks after some losses, so you can just clear up your mind and works toward another win streak ;)
Good luck with climb, hitting Legend will never be easy with any Decks, you can't expect a Deck to carry you there. You need to step up your level of play and be really focused about what you're doing.
I hope those general advice can help you ;)
u don't need to be sorry:) ty for the deck, surely I'm making mistakes, its going to be a lie if i say that i never making any mistakes:) but,as u said, play it to win,and I'm even begin rly aggressive with it, and yolo sometimes to win, cuz its not a control deck. But u know, sometime, i compare this deck to another hunter deck, a face hunt, just to compare time of climbing and difficult's. And when i see how ppl playing face on auto pilot I'm getting baby rage , cuz I'm sweating here against control war and win him only cuz he spent all of his cards in his deck, i hv some screenshots, for u and for ppl to laugh, dunno how to share:)
but i will never give up, i will keep fighting!
Well face Hunter is just going to play quick games, but believe it won't win as much as you think so the climb remains difficult for them. Overall, it's boring and repetitive to play just to chain quick games, it's not really hearthstone, just afk farming xD
true:)
Just Made The Deck, will let you know how it went
Good luck =)
