THIS GUIDE IS OUTDATED!!!
I WILL UPDATE IT, IF THE DECK IS WORTH IT!
Greetings my friends,
today I want to show you my Banana Paladin I'm currently climbing with!
Card explanation:
Zombie Chow: Pretty standart, just one of the best 1 drops in the game, not much to explain
Argent Protector: Helps with good trades in the early game to kill of aggro early enough
Haunted Creeper: Good synergy with Mukla's Champion and Knife Juggler, just a very solid 2 drop
Knife Juggler: Also no explanation required, staple card for every paladin deck right now
Shielded Minibot: Same as Knife Juggler
Coghammer: Similar to Argent Protector this card protects you versus aggro and helps you killing off small minions, as an one off in this deck it's enough
Muster for Battle: Amazing synergy with other cards in this deck, also no explanation required, staple card for every paladin deck
Silver Hand Regent: This card is really, really strong in this deck. It has so much synergy with other cards. Even when your opponent plays AOE, just play this and you will have a nice board again, which can be combined with the buff cards in this deck
Warhorse Trainer: I think this card is pretty underrated. If you play this on turn 3-4 with some recruits your trade potential is insane. This card really helps you a lot most of the time in the early to mid game.
Truesilver Champion: staple in every deck, amazing card, no explanation needed
Consecration: same as Truesilver Champion
Murloc Knight: Similiar to Silver Hand Regent, this card keeps the pressure up and can bring you disgusting value. It can literally single handely win you the game.
Piloted Shredder: Best 4 drop in the game. Noting more to say.
Mukla's Champion: This card is absolutely nuts! It won me so many games. With 2-3 minions insane value, with more minions your opponent can concede. With a deck which can spam minions that hard, Mukla's Champion is just a win condition by itself. Just try this card, you will love it.
Quartermaster: Not that amazing, but still good as a one off, this card can sometimes win you some games, but I came to the conclusion that two copies of it were often times to clunky.
UPDATE 19/09/2015
+1 Equality
+1 Loatheb
+1 Dr. Boom
UPDATE 22/09/2015
+1 Ironbeak Owl
Playstyle:
Please remember this deck is NOT a SMOrc deck! It's about board control and tempo plays!
The point of this deck is to curve out well in the early game (which is almost guaranteed with this low mana curve) by playing cards like Zombie Chow, Shielded Minibot etc and flood the board with cards like Silver Hand Regent and Murloc Knight. Even if your opponent plays multiple AOE spells (don't overextend your board if you don't have a proper follow up!) you will likely spam it again. With the help of Mukla's Champion and Quartermaster your board will still be pretty strong even in the late game to constantly pressure your opponent and finish him off.
Statistics:
These are my current statistics with this deck around rank 5:
Have you updated it for Yogg Nerf? I mean your recent comment would imply that you haven't but the deck is under Yogg Nerf in the filter?
Tirion Fordring is an excellent legendary if you want to play almost any paladin decks except for very aggressive decks. That said you could replace it with Sea Giant for alternatives.
Does this deck really need Tirion? I found it because I wanted to find a deck with Tirion, since I recently got him but have no idea where to use him and am low on dust. I see its point, all hail bananas, but I am really not sure about Tirion.
Any good replacement for Tirion Fordring?
why did you remove the fencing coaches for 2 sludges? that means no more turn 4 murlocs or turn 5 bananas...
Any replacements for Dr.boom and Tirion???
best legs for paladin, u better skip this deck if u dont have those. try out some cheap smorc decks ;)
I always get behind when im facing other midrange/tempo decks unless i draw perfectly. Feel like this deck has too much potential to make your hand clunky. Like unless i get perfect curve 1-2-3 i feel like i dont have a chance vs hunters/locks/paladins etc who are drawing average. Might be a good deck but i dont like it.
This deck has 10 decent 1-3 drops/plays. And big midgame swing plays with murloc and mukla. Most decks are teched with a lot of AOE clears so you have to pace your play. But it's a very solid deck.
I also swapped in a LOH
I don't have zombie chow. A good replacement?
Argent squire?
thats a tough question. not many 1 drops can live up to zombie chow, esp against aggro.
cards i'd consider
Argent Squire - solid 1/1 for 1 mana w/ divine shield, hard to clear early game
Lowly Squire - this card is eh, but i could see it working in this deck list. maybe you have a really crappy hand and are forced to hero power till turn 3-4, the lowly squire can compete with most 1-3 drops, granted it was inspired at least once or twice
Another Argent Protector - solid 2/2 drop that protects another minion
Annoy-o-tron - irritating 2 drop to deal with, can really stall out a game early on and help you develop board. some paladin decks will consider running this if they enjoy the divine shield aspect of it
Just my thoughts tho
i put in Gadgetzan Jouster. Works just fine
I love midrange paladin decks in general and I've been trying out a similar deck to this in casual. I agree, Mukla's Champion is absolutely nuts and so much fun to play as well! A couple of questions though:
1. Do you find that the lack of card draw hurts in any way? I was running 1 cult master and it seemed like a really good addition with all the tokens, especially against control decks. Considering that you have such a low curve and literally no late game minions except Dr Boom.
2. No Tirion? It doesn't fit the flood theme but it's just such a strong card that I'm surprised you didn't include it.
3. Is Fencing Coach that good? It seems below average if you have to play it on curve and not get any benefit out of the inspire synergy. You already have enough 3-drops. Have you considered adding some anti-aggro stuff instead like Belcher or Argus? Belcher seems especially good because your 5-mana slot is basically empty except for Loatheb and sometimes Quartermaster.
Nice deck. Which card did you trade for Tirion? Please post your updated list when you have time. Thanks!
Thanks for the reply. Please update your stats as well if you have the time.
sooo basically my deck that i posted on release: http://www.hearthpwn.com/decks/315369-tempo-token-paladin
Yours looks like a much worse version of this deck.
Literally 12 cards are different ..............."basically the same"
you arent even on the closely related decks lol
I'm having some pretty bad luck because I just lost 6 straight games with this, admittedly one was because i made a misplay but the rest were just getting topdecked
