midrange shaman from stream 24.08.2015 (tgt out pogchamp)
This deck has almost 0% chance of beating warlock (whichever type it is). If the paladin has equality + muster for battle on his starting hand, its also auto lose for shaman.
I understand paladin but I don't think I've lost against warlock yet and I don't even have Dr Boom. Warlock is relatively easy I think the only deck I've had trouble with is Handlock (surprising I know)
Because i don't get to start with zombie chow + totem golem every turn? Whenever you don't, your win rate drops exponentially, especially vs handlock. He'll just laugh at you behind his mountain of taunts.
And there's no way to know if i'm facing zoo or handlock, so i do not always have the right starting hand vs the right warlock deck type (hex/earth shock vs handlock, chain lightning vs zoo)
vs paladin, whenever he runs muster for battle (they almost always do), i have the dilemma of whether to trade with whatever few minions i have and risk getting rekted by consecration, or ignore the little guys and risk getting rekted by equality. Either way, if you lose all your early minions, its pretty much over. There's no way shaman can catch up vs paladin with his inspire nonsense (murloc knight, silver hand regent)
The decks i've managed to beat are hunter, mage and warrior, often able to kill hunter before he could kill me, and most warriors only run 1 brawl. And for mage, as long as he's not mech with an insane starting hand, its easy.
What should I use to replace Dr. Boom?
One does not simply replaces Dr. Boom.
I replaced it with Piloted Sky Golem :)
You forget the two Wisp
I would craft him if I have the dust.
wargolem + wisp+wis only replace for dr. balance
almost anything large.
I use stormwind champion and that works pretty well and I hardly draw the damn thing :D
If you can't figure out how to play this deck, then you're an idiot. Load up board with totems, control board, bloodlust or thunderbluff valiant, GG. Haven't been able to craft Mist yet to try in the deck but it looks like it could be insane. Pretty straightforward stuff. Currently sitting on a monster win streak with this deck, all the way from 15 to 11. No one has had an answer for it and it's great.
When I play my Controladin, not one totem shaman has beaten me, however, if I play a Aggro/Midrange Paladin, that damn 3/4 for 2 totem screws up my game, and it comes everygame, turn 2 or 3.
I was on a crazy win streak and I finally lost to a controladin. Too many murlocs for this deck to handle apparently
I haven't run the Murloc Knight in my Controladin, only in my Aggro, but this deck builds insanely fast if you don't slow it down, and I've noticed you need to time your Consecration, Equality, and Wild Pyromancer perfectly or it doesn't stop with the totems. Craziness.
I replaced the lord of passing wind (Al'Akir the Windlord) with (The Mistcaller) "ass" I like the extra bloat in my hand and deck
Chances of getting that are quite, quite low. That's the problem, if you are only winning 20% of your matches against aggro, it's just not viable.
I made a control shaman (no new cards other than Mistcaller and Elemental Overload) and Healing Wave and it does way, way better against aggro.
>If you think you are getting this oppening 20% and if you insist that the deck loses 80% of aggro matchups then I seriously suggest you try the deck instead of speculating.
I tried that deck for hours yesteday (because I have no life).
>I also suggest you to drop The Mistcaller since he has a cool effect but not good enough.
No. The Mistcaller is in my *control/sustain shaman*. Which just stomps aggro. Much better deck.
I'll come back to this thread in a few days. You can eat your own words when you see that totem shaman is a low tier deck.
You are basically claiming that "Mistcaller" can stomp aggros. Ok, so the thing is that I myself think Mistcaller is a pretty good card, giving basically to all minions you have in your deck AND in your hand +1/+1. All good, all good. I agree with the fact.
But how much does it cost? It's 6 mana for 4/4. It costs 6 flipping mana. And versus an Aggro deck or huntards (including eboladins and stuff) by that point when you summon Mistcaller I am pretty sure your health would be somthing like 5~10. Maximum 15, which is pretty bad I suppose. Even if the deck DOES contain Healing Wave, it does not always heal you 14 health. The deck itself does not contain nor taunts, which basically means that playing a low tempo card will shrek you up from the mid-game by not being able to protect yourself from those low-mana high-value cards.
Now, let's talk about Zombie Chow. Zombie Chow is a great Great GREAT card versus those Aggro decks. It has 2/3 for 1 mana cost, and believe me, it saves you quiet a lot of times. Crying for not having it in your mulligan is basilcally just awful. Also, you are NOT always playing versus Aggro decks, so do not cry about this card.
As you said, putting Elemental Destruction would be possible to fit in this deck, since it just basically shreks your opponent's side. HOWEVER, by using it you also kill your totems, which is a BIG BIG problem since this is a totem-based deck. Might consider though, but in my opinion having 2 cards of Lightning Storm is enough.
So in conclusion, having a Mistcaller in this deck is just inacceptible. Also taking away the Zombie Chow is not such a good idea. And BTW, this deck is great I tell ya.
If anything, Mistcaller might just be a finisher for aggro decks. Pumping your aggressive charge minions and the like just does so much more than relying on Mistcaller to stop aggro.
