Here's a fun little deck. Got me to legend rank the past two season and I plan to use it again this month. The basics of the deck are to hit minions with weapons and hit face with minions. This deck can maintain pressure and deliver huge amounts of damage. Also everyone mulligans for Control Warrior so that doesn't hurt.
Synergies:
Most pirates combo with our 7 weapons. Don't be afraid to play a naked or Bloodsail Raideron turn 2
Mulligan:
Keep Fiery War Axe, Ogre Warmaul, Bloodsail Raider, Leper Gnome. If you already have an early weapon keep Dread Corsair. I like to keep Whirlwind against Hunter and Paladin to deal with their early one health creatures.
Last 2 weeks of January Stats. All above rank 5.
Bad Matchups:
Mech Mage~ 38% 12-20
The freeze mechanics of the mage are a killer for this deck. You must kill Snowchugger immediately. I use Owl for Annoy-o-Tron. Brawl is a key card in this matchup.
Control Warrior~ 43% 6-8
Warrior got a lot of health gain from GvG with Shieldmaiden. Either put on insane amounts of pressure or play as slowly as you can for Gorehowl Upgrade! combo.
Fair Matchups:
Driud~ 67% 14-7 (both kinds)
This matchup really dependent on the druid draw. Druid of the Claw is the biggest problem for this deck, since 6 health is hard to deal with on turn 5. Just play around Swipe. Also Ogre Warmaul kills
Priest~ 67% 8-4
Don't extend to far Auchenai Soulpriest Circle of Healing will kill of your minions. Only 2 minions out at a time and pressure him with weapons.
Hunter (Both kinds) ~ 70% 23-10
Control the board early with Fiery War Axe and Dread Corsair. After that this deck will be able to put out more damage than the hunter. Also your Armor Up! ability saves you from the Hunter's Steady Shot.
Good Matchups:
Handlock~ 82% 14-3
Save Ironbeak Owl to get past taunt. Don't use it to remove his Azure Drake. Brawl is another great card for this matchup. Don't worry about their health for Molten Giants.
Rogue~ 83% 15-3
Rogue rarely has health gain and they don't have any taunts. In addition they kill themselves with their hero ability. Just stick to the basics and you'll do fine.
Control Paladin~ 84% 21-4.
Keep Whirlwind for Muster for Battle. Also keep Death's Bite the Paladin doesn't have too much burst or taunts making this an easy matchup.
Shaman~ 86% 6-1
Most of our minions are 3 health and the Shaman has many ways to deal 3 damage. Thankfully most Shamans don't have any health gain so Just go for face. Brawl is very useful to deal with their board. Also Ogre Warmaul will miss Al'Akir the Windlord and hit face.
Zoolock~ 100% 2-0
Nobody plays it at legend.
Edit: April 14th, 2016
I'm really interested in seeing some games of this past rank 5 in the current meta. The only wins I've gotten at rank 5 is vs zoo and hunters. And the occasional priest. I took out warmaul for a charge to combo with bloodsail raider since otherwise it's just a soak 3 dmg creature.
I will say that it is deeply satisfying to beat zoo and hunters with this though. That alone might just make it worthwhile to play this deck heh
Ogre Warmaul is the card I love to hate, too, but combo'ing it up with a free Dread Corsair on turn 3 is pretty sweet. It also lets you play one or two 6/3 Bloodsail Raiders on the next turn, if you have them.
From what I've found, getting a weapon in your hand early is very important to winning with this deck. Having 2x Fiery War Axe and 1x Ogre Warmaul gives a very good chance (with mulligans and normal card draw) of getting a weapon in your hand that you can use by turn 3.
just made this deck since sjow warrior now sucks badly in the meta... i wrecked. went 5-1, loss was to a druid... wins vs ramp druid, zoolock, mage (not sure what type, but had gharazilla), warrior.
was pretty happy with the way the games went... hp total goes down quickly when you're axe'n their threats, but to do most damage to face and put them on the defense...its pretty solid IMO
I made the recent changes because I was facing a lot of control paladin and mid-range (control) hunter and less control Warrior than expected. Whirlwind is a great counter to Snake Trap and Muster for Battle.
The Ramp Druid match is heavily reliant on the Druid card draw. If they get 2 Wraths and a Swipe it could be hard to get enough damage to push through the initial taunts. Thankfully, the fact that we are playing Warrior should deter them from muliganing for Wraths. We are slightly favored but not by much.
Zoo counters Ramp Druid pretty hard if you are facing a lot of them.
Enjoying this deck, but having terrible draw luck. Only drew two weapons so far.
Is there any room in this deck for Iron Juggernaut? Love that card and hate to build any Warrior decks without it
Can we get screens of your legendary, or at least where you're sitting in the ladder right now....
I'm going to go ahead and say that you were lying about making legend if you can't even provide screens after being asked since the first page.....
Also the deck is ok, but you can't get past rank 15 with it and stay past rank 15 unless you're amazingly lucky.
This deck is almost identical to a deck I built a month ago called "Wepwn," which is a pun on weapon and we pwn. The difference is, I ran a Southsea Captain, too.
For the children, man.
Fun deck when I can get it to work. Having some YouTube vids could help us learn this better. Or better yet can I spectate your games? If u don't mind me adding you maybe you can message me your battle net Id and I can add you in game. I want to get better with this It's a fun deck! Unless of course you stream.
You can add me if you'd like, I play this with 2 cards changed. I swapped both Frothing Berserker for 1 Spellbreaker and 1 The Black Knight. This way taunts are much less devestating and the Frothings never get to do any damage either way as they will be removed quickly. Even zoo's taunts in Voidwalker and Defender of Argus are annoyances for this deck because you want to put your huge damage to zoo's face. It it also better vs. taunts from druids and mech mages' inevitable [card]Annoy-o-Tron[/card].
My ID is Nyluh #2344. I play around rank 4-5 at the moment. The deck gets me worse winrates than control warrior which got me to legend last season, but oh boy how fun it would be to reach legend with it this season.
BY THE WAY: OP do you have any thoughts on my changes?
cool thanks man. Just sent you a request.
Frothing Berserker is our only 3 drop. Against Druid it would be nice to have TBK though, I would replace Southsea Deckhand for it instead of Frothing Berserker.
This deck *is* fun to play, but quite frankly I think that it's not legendary material for most people. I'm not gonna outright say you didn't hit legendary with this, but even with mad skills your card draws and opponents must have been very kind indeed. This deck does not have an answer for double or triple divine shield + taunt played in one turn. This deck does not have an answer to pretty much any big early opponent board advantage, without so terribly crippling yourself for cards it's down to luck of the draw if you can survive. And, as at least one other poster pointed out, it simply doesn't have enough damage to go to face soon enough to burn folks down before they can throw things at you that you do not have an answer to. It comes down to having a lot of good synergy that you basically never get to use. (frothing berserker, bloodsail raider).
SO, if you did get to legendary with this deck, please post some vague idea of how you regain enough board advantage to go to face when presented with early obstacles such as Annoy-o-tron or any other minion shielded / taunted, 2 owls is just too much down to luck, if you don't draw one, you lose.
Wow! Great deck! Warrior has always been one of my favorite Heroes, and though I love Control Warrior its nice to see a good Aggro Warrior Deck! This is such a fun deck to play, and you're right the opponent always mulligans for Control Warrior, so they usually don't see this coming. Thanks for posting this deck!
Only one question, do you ever feel like you need a little card draw? Like anything to warrant maybe putting in a Battle Rage or maybe a Commanding Shout ?
Commanding Shout doesn't work with this deck because we don't want to trade our minions. It's hard to activate Battle Rage, but if I'm running into a lot of Control Warrior or Paladin, I put one in instead of Loatheb or Heroic Strike.
Is Spiteful Smith an acceptable substitute for Captain Greenskin?
No, our weapons are usually strong enough to deal with minions. The big part about Captain Greenskin is that it gives +1 durability to Gorehowl. A better replacement is Sludge Belcher because it protects our minions so our weapons can start going to face earlier bringing them to zero quicker as Greenskin would.
I would take out two Arcanite Reaper. Death's Bite is the key card against Paladin Muster for Battle and and sometimes Hunter Snake Trap.
worst deck I've seen on here in a while
