Bad Chef Presents: My best take on Pirate Valeera

Ok, I've been thinking about how to make pirate synergy work in rogue for a while. I know that a lot of people think it's all based on the aggro pirates, but I'm going to make the argument that you CAN have a value pirate rogue, with limited results on the ladder.

Ever since I saw that the portrait for 1000 wins is a pirate costume, I had to think of a way to make an actually fun pirate rogue. This is as close as I can get it while still staying true to the Reno singleton philosophy.

Good cards for opening hand/mulligan:
- Raiding Party
- Clever Disguise
- Death's Head Cultist
- Deathlord

The Pirates:

- Southsea Scoundrel -- Good intel about your opponent's deck, good stats, and you can potentially disrupt their drawing order.
- Hench-Clan Burglar -- Included for quest completion synergy
- Sky Gen'ral Kragg -- Included for the quest synergy
- Cursed Castaway -- a Rush Deathrattle that draws you a combo card
- Raiding Party -- A means of drawing some of these, as well as your Serrated Tooth (combo piece for later)

Most games you're hoping to play Raiding Party on 3 and one of the pirates on 4.

How to go Infinite:

Enter Valeera the Hollow and use Lab Recruiter on itself, or consider exchanging the Sludge Belcher for a Gang Up

Once you have multiple lab recruiters, you can Shadowstep for free copies of Lab Recruiter that you can use on powerful cards such as N'Zoth, the Corruptor (the deck is loaded with deathrattle taunts) or Tess Greymane since you can get away with some pretty nasty stuff in the RNG lands of burgle rogue.

Edit: switched Tess Greymane for Elven Minstrel

The Finish (for control stalemates)

1. Prime your Mecha'thun into 1/1 with Anka, the Buried

2. Prepare the Serrated Tooth so that you can break it to give Mecha'thun rush when you are ready. There are two ways to fish out the Serrated Tooth, and the deck draws fairly aggressively too.

3. Ensure board is clear on your side and there is a minion present on opponent's board.

4. Play Myra's Unstable Element to clear the deck (5 mana spent this turn)

5. Play Secret Passage (6 mana spent this turn)

6. Play tiny Mecha'thun (7 mana spent this turn)

7. Break weapon to give Mecha'thun rush (optional 2 mana spent on daggers)

8. Kill Mecha'thun on enemy minions.
