The most powerful Highlander Thief Rogue with extra RNG sprinkles and a hungry Zephrys the Great that will eat whatever board problem you have. GLHF ♥
•Leeroy Jenkins & Shadowstep for 12dmg finisher.
•Togwaggle's Scheme & Tess Greymane for late game win condition (Don't play scheme before using Zephrys) Thank you for noticing xerohour
•Shadowstep & Barista Lynchen work with Zephrys the Great
•Hard Mulligan aways depending on match up
Ive gotten Puzzle Box of Yogg-Saron lethal, and also gotten Dr. Boom, Mad Genius out of the generated cards as well as Ysera and other highlander godly rolls out of it like Dinotamer Brann and Reno the Relicologist
A lot of the time the spell generation comes in clutch and wins you the game; other times not so much (Consistency may vary), thats why returning Zephrys to your hand is so important in this deck.
Card replacement for budget or playstyle:
- Novice Engineer or Bloodmage Thalnos instead of Questing Explorer
- Lab Recruiter works instead of Togwaggle's Scheme
- You can put in Brightwing (instead of Face Collector)
- Could also use Khartut Defender for survivability and value (Zilliax is still better)
- Walk the Plank or Assassinate but those are weak choices due to the amount of Reborn minions at play in this meta
- If you are runing into a lot of murlocs you can use a Hungry Crab
- Pharaoh Cat Is ok too.
Risky / Didnt seem to work:
Baleful Banker or Daring Escape can work if used wisely if you want more ways to play Zephrys, although still not as efficient as Barista Lynchen and Shadowstep
Body Wrapper (Tried it and seemed to slow)
Siamat can be added to work with Sandbinder (Personally I only use it for only for Zephrys)
Thank you to everyone that gave their recomendations in the comments Zephrys the Great appreciates your support!! :D
Thank you Elementalcore100 for the awesome video showcase
Quote from Elementalcore100 >>This deck was very good I liked the feel of it and the Zephrys the Great makes the deck feel super nice as well. I think this is my favorite form of quest priest.
Thank you Khristophesaurus for the spotlight!
Quote from Khristophesaurus >>VALUE TOWN TOO MUCH LULW !
I used this deck a lot and also if the winrate is negative (my score is 31-46) it's super funny ^^
And grinding every single control warrior that you find after a 30 minutes match haven't price xD
This deck is pretty fun, but can get a bit frustrating when not drawing well (especially Zephrys, the little bastard).
Tess Greymanex13 is always a good time though!
Played 12 games with the deck. Solid 1-11 ratio.
I always, always have cards that won't do anything: Mulligan into Toggwaggle, Barista, for instance.
There are few cards for the Quest, only two Lackey generators so you have to keep one Lackey in hand for Toggwaggle. Half the deck is cards that can only be played on specific circumstances. The Quest itself is only decent, not broken like Paladin (you lose instantly to it).
I really want to like this quest, but as of right now, you give up to much just to include one card, great as that Elemental might be.
Sadly yea because it is a highlander deck it has consistecy problems, bad draws are not uncommon with this deck, but when u draw Miscreant or Rat and play it after setting up Spirit of the shark u can hold on to at least one lackey in ur hand for the Toggwaggle. Using Barista on the lackeys or even shadowstep if you have to, its all about working with the RNG of volatile deck like this one. I really want to make it work because I also really want to like this quest.
Honestly I can't for the next expansion to hopefully give rogue some better tools for the spell thief / lackey archtype.
I took out Sandbinder out of the list since it didnt seem to make a big difference after all. Put in Spellbreaker or Owl that has silence.
Have you considered/tried running Body Wrapper? I have been tuning a similar deck and she gives me confidence to drop Zeph early on if I'm being outplayed.
I tried it for a few days but it seemed a bit too slow since it doesnt add it back to your hand. Besides a lot of the times Zeph wouldnt even be one of the 3 options to choose from. It definitely sounds nice in paper but in practice I dont think it works out too well agaisnt the strong meta decks rn
Hi! :)
How would you change this if played in wild?
Are there any cards you would run but can't because of standard, like maybe Valeera the Hollow, Vanish, Vilespine Slayer, Elven Minstrel, or Reno Jackson? maybe even Lotus Agents? :P
And how about putting Edwin VanCleef in there? He can get really big with Spirit of the Shark.
Thanks a lot already and looking forward to all your help and opinions ;)
All of those are great suggestions to turn it into a wild deck :D I would like to see someone try it since I dont have almost any of those cards.
Not doing well with this deck. so far three losses in a row. two hunters and a warrior. not saying this deck is bad. just saying I'm having a bad start.
Edit: 5 losses in a row until I won one against a mage who was trying out something he made so it wasn't tier1/2.
wow awesome deck ! some much fun. intense games! infinite value! love it
I got blown out by a zoolock, but the very next match I blew out a zoolock. The deck seems fun, but has a few hard counters. I'm enjoying it so far with a 4-1 record.
Hey great deck, have been having fun with it for a couple of days. But I don't really see the point of having Blade Flurry, instead I run Spellbreaker. You already said we can get board clear from Zephrys, and we still need one single target kill to counter something like big priest, since we also don't have cards like Sap. And I don't have Face Collector so I subbed in Questing Explorer and its quite good.
The quest gives us Mirage Blade and whenever you play Tirion Fordring he gives you Ashbringer so Blade Flurry can clear the board efficiently. Here is an example:
I saw you playing it in your stream last night, missed lethal lol
This deck got me from 5 to 2. Lets see if i can actually hit legend wit it.
Cool deck. I took out Togwaggle's Scheme and added Siamat - it gives Sandbinder more value too so you can keep Zephrys the Great at the mulligan.
I just can't get a streak going with this deck. I have everything but Barista Lynchen. Any tips?
I've been testing and I think have made changes to the list that might help with consistency, let me know what you think
If you dont have Barista you could run Baleful Banker or Daring Escape (although still not as efficient).
any replacement for togwaggle. i literally have everything, but do not feel like crafting him -.-
Lab Recruiter If you have it, you want to use it on Tess late game thats why Tog Scheme is better. (Make sure to get good use out of your Zephrys before adding copies into your deck)
