Nerfs are hopefully out by the time you are reading this, and this is my pick for a new tier1 deck in a new metagame. This deck is actually very similar to Even Paladin, the only difference between these two weighting it towards the Pally (a lot) was Call to Arms, but that card took a huge hit and now we are here!
Feel free to download the Hagatha cheat scheet from my Twitter, it can come in really handy when figuring out your outs or when you actually play against the Witch.
Deck is not doing anything crazy, but instead it just plays a ton of good cards with big raw power, which is great for non-stop annoying control decks and handling the first turns of aggro decks. Thanks to Hagatha the Witch you can outvalue many control decks even in deep lategame, which cannot be said about many decks.
Deck has a ton of 2 drops and you sort of need to draw two of them for your turn 2 and turn 3, so while I could go really deep on when to keep which one, feel free to keep any of them in your opening hand. Don’t forget that you start with totem from turn 1, so even Flametongue Totem on turn 2 is a solid development. Best one is obviously Murkspark Eel, this card is really pleasure to play with.
Hex is amazing versus Warlock and after nerfs it will become very relevant to keep it against Hadronox Druid. Hitting the Hadronox itself should be very hard if your opponent is playing correctly, but the frog itself is beast as well which becomes very relevant when he tries to bring back his random beast to life. Mulligan it against everything else.
Corpsetaker is an amazing card against almost every deck, you can keep it all the time.
Other than that you should mulligan it all, no expensive card in this deck is worth keeping in your opening hand. Oh, except for Hagatha the Witch, which is so important sometimes that you want to keep it against control.
I know guys that this deck has many legendaries and some of them are not used that often, so let’s try to figure out which ones can be replaced without too much pain.
Genn Greymane is a must, no surprise there. I also have a hard time imagining this deck without Hagatha the Witch, she is just too important in half of the matchups.
Part that will make you probably sad is the fact that Al'Akir the Windlord is quite neccessary as well. It is the only card for Corpsetaker windfury, and another elemental for Sandbinder. Playing without it would lover your winrate more than I would recommend.
Grumble, Worldshaker is also very good, but it is the first legendary I can imagine cutting. I think you would easily play 6 mana 7/7 with no abilites in this deck, but the bounce effect pushes it over the top. It is great with Saronite Chain Gang and Fire Elemental (just imagine first value trading and then bouncing this guy), but deck would still function without it.
As for the Kalimos, Primal Lord and The Lich King, these ones are replacable by some other high end card if needed, or by this little guy:
Gnomish Inventor. That’s right, whatever you are missing, feel free to play this guy instead, it is actually a more valid choice than you would think.
That’s it for today, thanks a lot for reading! If you like the work I am doing here, then just follow me on Twitch, where I explain decks like these live and try to give you the best lists to crush ladder, or on Twitter, where you get notified as soon as guide like this goes live :)
Here you can see the deck in action!

I love this deck and have done quite well for a non-legend player (rank 5-10) but I struggle when I run into shudderwock shaman. I feel like a bit more aggro might help. Any thoughts on replacing the Plated Beetle with Primalfin Totem or some other faster card?
Any replacements for Grumble? Is he really needed in this deck?
A deck like this requires legend player skill!
Thank you, Stan.
Stan has a new instructional video out for this deck on Omnislash. He has cut Cult Master and added Zap. I'd say just file Baku Paladin under "no deck is strong against every deck." I would not make too many changes other than this one or you risk hurting your performance against other decks. I guess you could put Fire Plume Phoenix in place of Grumble for earlier removal.
Thanks for reply! Well I just added it to decks whom I won't win against much likely :) . But I got another sick problem.. Token druids.. :/ Or was I just unlucky to not get any (3 needed at least to clear full boards) aoes from Hagatha? :D
Hello everyone, this deck is pretty awesome, carried me through the 15 to 9 ranks very easily, the only thing what seems to be unbeatable for me is Baku Paladin and Control Mage (I met only 2 control ones, but pally is getting played more and more). So as for the paladins, what would you suggest me to add and cut to have some removal on their turn 5? I was searching for some good 3 dmg removal at least and found only Avalanche, is it worth cutting something for it? What should I cut here if so? Thanks for any advices.
One thing I like about the deck is flexibility for tech cards. So if you don't like or don't have one of the cards, you can replace with a Gnomish Inventor as Stan said, but you can also put in a Fire Plume Phoenix to address the issue you're raising.
Just played this deck for 10 games. Check out my last game! I am not the best, I am sure I misplayed a couple of times, especially with positioning. I never thought I would win this game. 26 + turns against taunt quest warrior. Hagatha sure is a true end game card.

Great deck, Played a few matches in Legend , 6-3 so far
Because you need some carddraw...
Hi, but the card Draenei Totemcarver can only be played in Wild.
It is a card from The Grand Tournament set
Yes and the Wild format doesn't exist.
Any reason for plated beatles instead of knife jugglers? The armour doesn't seem that useful, and sure, it trades better then knife jugglers, but that's like saying play River Crocolisk. With 1 cost totem hero power, juggling easily gets value against aggro, and you can highroll a taunt to protect it early game.
The armor from Beetle is very useful, and the body is just better. This deck doesnt beat aggro decks by randomly juggling enemy minions, but by making value-trades while keeping ur lifepool high with Corpsetakers and Scalehides ( buffed by flametongue or dire wolf in best case).
Moreover, the Juggler just let you take 4 face damage against Explosive Runes, while the Beetle completely negates the 6 damage. Thats a huge deal against those pesky Aggro-Mages that u face quite often these days, most of the times u can recover by turn 6-8, but with 4 or 8 more face damage taken, you probably wont even reach those hights. And again: That one Lifepoint of the Beetle can(and will) make a HUGE difference, because this deck heavily relies on Flametongue Totem and Dire Wolf Alpha, so that you can often trade 2 for 1 or even better because since your HP is just 1 mana, u will often have that Healing Totem up to heal your minions.
And a 1 mana Totem is only 1 Juggle on turn 3, that cant even be compared to those prenerf "Jugglestorms" from Call to Arms.
In my opinion Knife Juggler just doesnt fit the playstyle of this deck. The deck plays more like keeping board control by valuetrading, keeping ur minions alive and then just throw those windfury-minions and elementals on board to outpressure your enemys while automatically keeping your lifepool close to max. Or, if u play against control, you should try to queeze the most out of hagatha. My big recommendation for those matchups is to put in a Ghost Light Angler, because its pure value(5 Spells) + a full board in lategame.
Thanks! That’s the detailed and fair explanation I was looking for, plated beatle it is!
lol, beat up an odd rouge so bad with this deck that he conceded turn 5.
I mean, there's not a plethora of elementals...but careful planning should make it easy. The difference here is that you're not running low elementals, so you should be able to plan your turns out in advance. Even if you don't trigger kalimos it's generally ok. Often times you'll want to play Fire Elemental and then buff it with earthen might to give yourself an extra "emergency" elemental in case the next turn doesn't go as planned.
So far I'm 12:3 (80%) with this deck and its real fun.
But i had to make some substitutions, because i don't have Grumble or any Sand Binders. I added, as recommended, 2x Gnomish Inventor for the 2x Sand Binders, as they basically do the same. Witchwood Piper may also be a possible replacement, but i guess with all the adjacent-buff-minions in this deck, the 2/4 statline is better then 3/3, plus they survive Hellfire, Frostbolt, Eaglehorn Bow, Flanking Strikes and hits from Ironwood Golems.
My Substitution for Grumble was 1 copy of Ghost Light Angler, because it gives you tons of value with Hagatha already played(just like Grumble does). They fill your board and give you 5 spells, thats insane! And with a randomly pulled Spirit Echo u can basically create endless value.
Without those Sand Binders it's a bit tricky to always trigger Kalimos when you need him, but just plan ahead, most of the time it is possible somehow. You should also always be careful with the Hero-Power-Totems, as the Taunt- and Healing-totems can really make the difference in many matchups. So always think twice, before u trade a totem or hit ur HP.
Fun deck anyway, feel free to try those substitutions if u are also missing those cards!
Are there enough elementals to trigger Kalimos?
I count only 5 and one of them is Kalimos himself.
