I’ve been having EXTREME success with this on ladder. If this gets at least 20+ upvotes I’ll make a mulligan guide. If it reaches 50 I will write a full guide!!!
ENJOY!
Wow! I didn’t expect so much support so fast for my first deck! Thank you! As promised, here is
the mulligan guide:
As always with new expansions (and especially new rotations) you never know what you’re about to face until the Meta cools down, but for now we can make our best judgement calls to try and thwart any threats coming our way.
Safe bets are always Northshire Clerics, and Shadow Ascendants, they can provide a good amount of card draw/board presence against most control decks.
VS Control
when I’m facing what I think may be a control deck (usually Warlocks and Shamans at the moment, sometimes Mages if you find yourself facing Tempo Mages) I will try to mulligan for Chameleos. Knowing what is in your opponent’s hand at all times is a HUGE advantage. For example, knowing the shaman you’re against has Shutterwok in his hand, you’ll know that once he plays the other pieces of the OTK he is GOING to play the shutter next turn (bad example, but you get the idea lol)
VS Aggro
When facing aggro I mulligan everything but Northshire to try to find a Duskbreaker Dragon. Use them wisely, you don’t have a lot of wide removal in this version, but it still keeps up well against aggro.
cards you DO NOT want in your opening hand: (anything that is wonderfully effected by Lady in White) such as: Quartz Elemental and Unpowered also you don’t want anything typically above 4 mana in your opening hand.
remember, 50+ upvotes I’ll make a full guide, and perhaps even a video tutorial. I’ll post any updates or good substitutions that I find when I find them :) Thank you again for your support!
FULL GUIDE COMING IN THE NEAR FUTURE! (SEE DECK HIGHLIGHTS BELOW)
DECK HIGHLIGHTS:
Kiwiinbacon
Below is KiwiinBacon's Spiteful Lady deck highlight, he provides awesome insight to how I play this deck, when to clear the board, when to play taunts, and when to play your finishers. I highly recommend watching his video below!
There are also 3 other videos in the comments that give wonderful insight as well! go check those out, Thank you again for all of the comments and feedback and constructive criticism!
Replacements and alternate versions coming soon!
(The comments section is providing AMAZING suggestions for the above!)
Also if you have comments such as: "This deck is trash" please at least provide an explanation of what you would change about it. Thank you.
This is a good template for a Spiteful Priest. It looks pretty rough around the edges, with it leaning on the Lady in White gimmick a bit too much for my liking.
It's a shame too, because I just got a Lady in White and wanted to see if she fit into any big name decks. I might take this for a spin and replace the more niche cards with stuff like Mind Control Tech and Leeroy Jenkins to make this Spiteful deck more able to secure lethals and regain board.
Could even throw in an Obsidian Statue for if things really go tits-up and you need a 8/8 with Lifesteal to secure the game.
I'm just spitballing at this point. It's a decent template, but you should probably make changes to it before taking it on ladder.
this deck seems to be made early in expansion and everyone auto voted it ,,,its not as strong as it may look but its a great template to make a spiteful deck from +1 :D
Yeah I made the deck minus chameleos I think I'm 1-10... No luck whatsoever. I don't get the draws I need. For example I get all spells and then I get my spite draw. Or I go to toss out cards which would benefit from lady and I never get her till turn 8 or so, by then it's too late and I have most cards which would benefit.
hey guys I have the DN for the priest do u think it is a good addition for this deck or not? bc on one side you can lose your high attack minions and your heals, but on the other side it helps dealing with big minions and that hero power is always usefull against aggro (not to mention 5 armor helps too). So what you guys suggest?
Funny when it works, but too much dependant on drawing the correct cards in the correct order to win, and if you draw the high level spells in the first turns you broke spiteful mechanic
Not finding a way to survive against mooneater Uther decks with this deck.
I'll have to give this deck a try. Unfortunately I didn't have too much success with spiteful priest when the expansion first came out.
I don't have a lot of experience with playing Priest, and I've had a lot of fun with this deck so far. I don't have Chameleos, so I put in Mirage Caller. It acts as a poor man's Prince Taldaram (which I also don't have) for board booster minions like Shadow Ascendant, Cobalt Scalebane, Nightscale Matriarch, and even Tortollan Shellraiser.
Fun deck, thanks for sharing!
It feels pretty fun to play but like others have said it doesn't handle aggro well (which I guess is expected but still, it feels particularly weak) and can lead to some absolute snorefests of games against decks like control mage. I just had a 24 minute game where I conceded, it could have easily gone on another 5 minutes but I was out of gas. If you don't manage to steal their Jaina it just gets impossible to overcome all those elementals since they have so many things that are perfect answers for what the deck has.
It's certainly not "awful" or trash tier like some of the other comments are saying and if you are getting 30% winrates with it that speaks more to your skill than the deck. It's a little too high-roll and draw dependent for me so I probably am going to pick something else to climb with but I like the idea and it's nice to see someone actually try something new with one of the most stale deck archetypes that we've seen in a long time.
tldr: fun deck, maybe not consistent enough to climb much after rank 5. Still definitely going to experiment with it and try to make it work.
he is useful primarily because you'll know what cards your opponent is holding.
Having Chameleos has made me win a lot of games by stealing Jaina, Shudderwock, and an even Pallys own Tirion. Chameleos is one of the best cards in this deck and I highly recommend crafting him.
i made a deck similar to this but i threw in the even package with Genn Greymane
Too slow against aggro, not fast enough against Control.
Pretty fun though, I'll give you that. 4 mana 9/9 will always be sweet.
Great deck but really struggles against aggro and doesn’t seem to be able to out value taunt Druid either.
going to try some of the changes people have suggested above.
One more point, Quartz Elemental seems totally useless as once the enemy does 3 damage to it it takes two turns before it can do anything. I’ve never had the card acheive anything in 20+ games.
I made a deck based on this one with more taunts and board clears. It seems to work a lot better in ranked. https://www.hearthpwn.com/decks/1095063-82-spiteful-white-priest
Thanks ill give it a try
This new card would go good with it
