no it doesn't... end of turn effects trigger once. in this case, the cube dies, and its effect triggers after the end of turn step. two obsidian statues are summoned, but they aren't killed because the end of turn step is over. it's sort of like when y'shaarj summons ysera, but ysera's end of turn effect doesn't trigger. there's only one end of turn step and it happens once. the statues will die on the next turn, unless you can trade off your reckless experimenter or silence it or something. actually it's also possible that summoned (but not played) deathrattles will not be affected by reckless experimenter's aura. the card says that deathrattle minions you PLAY, not summon. of course, that's probably just referring to the mana discount. but it'd be sloppy wording, since there's no reason to specify that the mana cost only applies to minions you play. the only thing that can possibly cost you mana in the first place is playing cards. so that wouldn't be any different if it just said "your deathrattle minions cost 3 less." the only part that would be different is this issue of whether the second part (the minions dying) applies to minions you play, or your minions in general. it's entirely possible that blizzard just messed up the wording. they've done it before in the past so i can't say for sure. but if we're assuming this is exactly what they intended the card to read, then we can also assume the card's effect will only apply to deathrattle minions you play. just like hobgoblin or animated berserker. and unlike spiritsinger umbra.
If this card works exactly how it reads, then the Statues wouldn't die at all after the cube. Since they have to be played from hand to die at the end of turn. The double statue off cube isn't technically played from hand, and wouldn't be instantly killed next turn
This and Crystalline Oracle, Swamp Dragon Egg, Volatile Elemental, Voodoo Doll, Shallow Gravedigger, Devilsaur Egg. You can do a lot of combinations but you get minions on board, removal and cards in hand. It's a win. All the above cards will cost ZERO to PLAY!
Voodoo Doll maybe?
This is obviusly designed to be played around Devilsaur Egg.
I've been messing with a tempo/quest/otk d.ratlle priest and there are a lot of sinergies already with the egg (Carnivorous Cube, Devilsaur Egg, Mirage Caller, Shadow Ascendant, Tortollan Shellraiser, etc) and its almost viable. This card may be the final push it needs.
I've been on the fence about whether or not I should craft the priest quest, and this card makes me feel like it might be time. I'm basically sitting here telling myself to wait and save the dust until the meta starts to settle...
The wording should have been "Your Deathrattle minions played from hand cost 3 less and die at the end of turn"
Why add unnecessary wording? Play literally means play it from your hand.
Oh yikes...with resurrection this is STICKY...and Malygos costing 6 mana, is totally insane. Imagine resurrecting several of these, not to mention they are strong on board presences.
OTK archetype.
He probably read it as
"Deathrattle: minions you play..."
instead of
"Deathrattle minions you play..."
I did too, the first time. Colons ain't just for poopin', ya know.
Kind of like Auchenai Soulpriest in that it changes the way a deck operates, I could see this being useful for quick deathrattle effects but bad for keeping minions with actually decent stats alive. Still tons of potential though.
Sorry for misunderstanding. Silencing her doesn't do anything minions still die at the end of your turn.
play reduced cost deathrattle cards and Silence her before ending your turn.
NOOO JUST DUSTED GOLDEN VOODOO DOLL
Corpse Widow but 10x better
Why did they use such weird wording? Instead of "your deathrattle minions cost (3) less".
because then it would be the cards in your hand. This way its only the cards you play. Its a difference which can lead to diferent outcomes
Most of the times it doesn't. It's written how it's written because of the second part of the effect. "Your deathrattle minions cost (3) less, but die at the end of the turn" means every deathrattle minion you play or summon dies at the end of the turn, and stating the summoned thing in the second part would have been a silly waste of card text (HS texts need to be extra compact).
Quest priest will be broken as hell now, not to mention cube.
Not really. With quest priest you get the countdown for each deathrattle brought into play, not each deathrattle used. You want your deathrattles to go off, yes, but you also want your minions to do some damage to your opponent and/or his minions. Playing a deathrattle just to have it die right then and there (charge/rush not withstanding) well.... its not very productive.
As for cube, well the effect is at end of turn so you cannot get 2 charge minions to smack your opponent before they can do anything. They have options available to them.
