Who the fuck at Blizzard thought this was a good idea?

Probably the same type of people who try to kill it with a weapon.

Stole it with the treasure card that add it to your deck,  rest of that run was very easy because bosses ignore it.

I did that too but on the last boss it got potioned of madness!

No, since poisonous effect applies only when dealt any damage. Since you are immune this minion won't deal damage.

Does this kill you if you have armor?

Yes, just tried it with Druid.

Had more armor than damage it did, so even if you have extra, you die.

Attacked it with your dagger?

I stole this with Magic Mirror and top decked it on last 2 bosses. Was pretty hilarious tbh.
