Just be careful not to mill the candles. If one of the candles is milled, The Darkness will not awaken and will forever take a spot on your board.
he mentioned play 2 darkness cards (thanks to DK valeera's hero power)
That makes 6 candles.
you're free to lose 3 candles tops, so losing one is no biggie as long as you don't over do it.
This card acttually says: 4 mana, Your opponent can't play card draw.
if you get this out on 4th turn against raza priest he won't be able to activate raza until at least 2 are drawn
If you're playing this, you don't care about losing a slot on the board, you only care about countering priest. Have you ever played a priest that played shadowreaper without raza? Yeah they can still do stuff but they are very inefficient and burn through cards faster, You actually have a chance against shadowreaper without raza. And priest will be Tier S next expansion with all the ridiculousness they got. This will probably even be good in a priest deck to counter other priests lol.
Gives you chance to do something, priests that activate raza on 5th turn and anduin soon after that have a lot higher win rate .
WTF man
lol
... it's a character whose name is also... Darkness...
Yeah i get what joke guy was going for when he post this but.... it still.. just... ugh...
If i play this card and use silence on it will i be able to bypass the candy?
It's dormant. That's like what happens when Sherazin dies. It becomes dormant, leaving a blank minion token on the field. It can't be targetted or affected in any way, even though it's technically on the board.
So no, you can't cheese out a 4 mana 20/20 with a scum silence priest.
Silence priest is scum now? Sure...
This is craaaaazy! Also, Daring Reporter synergy. Worthy of a mention I suppose.
Edit: Daring Reporter synergy seems pretty weak on first sight. But, when placing both of these on an empty board, your opponent is forced to choose between using his hard removal on an infinitely growing Daring Reporter or on a 20/20 that will soon activate.
hello darkness my old friend..
this joke is kinda overdone on this comment section tho
But... Why would you want to draw this yourself instead of your opponent?
I think he means you play Darkness, then later play Togglewoggle, and then draw from your opponents deck to try and get the candles out so that Darkness activates on your board.
The problem is this strategy assumes you are able to quickly draw cards from the deck you steal from your opponent. But if you're opponent is not running a lot of card draw you'd have to have some in hand when you switch decks. You could do this if you had a Gadgetzan Auctioneer on the board, and playing Rogue had some cheap or 0 mana spells (like Counterfeit Coin).
Pulling this off might be very satisfying, but probably very difficult to complete. Why not just run it in Mill Rogue with Coldlight Oracles, Shadowcasters, Shadowstep, and pandas to bounce the Oracles back to your hand or gain 1/1 copies? Force your opponent to continually draw.
Or does a candle drawn with 10 cards in your opponent's hand burn before activating?!?!
As to the resurrection question, I'm not sure if bringing it back would make it active since three candles have already been activated, or if it would come back dormant with no way to activate, as rez would not activate battlecry to put more candles in the deck.
My guess is rez would give you a dormant token with no way to activate.
Once again: What exactly is the advantage of you drawing the candles instead of your opponent?
You can't even build your deck around drawing faster since you're trading your deck for your opponent's.
