These new mage elementals look exactly like the Kabal Demons from Kazakus' potion, what gives?
They have similarities but not exactly look.
It removes the need for the quest in exodia mage decks (kinda like in wild with thaurissan, exodia mages dont play quest).
2 x simulacrum on Sorcerer apprentice
Play Leyline manipulator
On turn 10
2x 0 mana sorcerer
Molten for 2
Molten for 1
Antonidas for 7
+ any 4 or less cost spell
The downside compared to quest is that you need wait T10 for the combo. With quest you can start as early as T7 if really lucky.
But not having to use quest means not having to rely as much on getting the random spells, means you can add cardsi nstead to help stall to 10
Though this one also synergizes well with the random spells. Both types will be playable I think.
If what you're presenting becomes popular, people are going to definitely run Dirty Rat
T3 Simulacrum Apprentice
T4 Simulacrum Apprentice
T5 Layline Manipulator
T6 Layline Manipulator
T7 Antonidas (3) + 1 Apprentice (2) + 2 Simulacrum Apprentice (0) + Molten (1)
You can start your Fireball on Turn 7.
Why?
I think it also works with Pyros 6 and 10 manayou have in hand
I feel we're regressing
Good every time in every mage deck. I don't like voting "Meta Defining" but how can you not consider it? A 4 mana 4/5 with an AMAZING battlecry???? Questemental mage is so good right now with the new cards.
Well statted and a potentially v strong ability. This card could be amazing in an elemental deck with some 'out of deck' card generation. Wow.
Even if you hit just 2 cards in your hand, it’s basically a free Yeti with lifesteal
It’s an Elemental Yeti with an amazing battlecry. Yup, going to be a staple in DK Jaina decks
I'm going to get downvoted to hell for this but I really wouldn't be so quick to call this "meta defining". It's aggressively statted but so was ethereal peddler. Mage has babbling book, glyph, the 2 mana elemental, and tome, to name a few, and rouge had swashburgler, the 2 mana 2-2, and burgle (which is worse than glpyh but not by a disproportionate amount). This looks busted on paper but it really isn't, just a very solid card.
Well you are right, but if you play it in an elemental deck even when it doesn't hit anything its ok, so I think it will be somewhat busted in elemental decks. Also there is a small difference in the card quality from the rogue cards to the mage cards. Almost all of the mage cards that generate cards are used in some decks right now, whether it be quest mage, tempo mage, the one of mage, or the very rare elemental mage. The rogue cards on the other hand aren't used much (other than swashburgler). The 2/2 at certain points was used, but isn't right now and burgle has sadly always been trash. What also makes Leyline Manipulator better than Ethereal Peddler is the fact that it isn't dead against 1 out of the 9 classes in the game. In general what made Ethereal Peddler bad was that certain classes had better average cards and certain classes had crap, so in other words you were playing the lottery who your opponent was to win games. Leyline Manipulator gets mage spells guaranteed which on average are better, and Leyline Manipulator doesn't leave as much to chance as Ethereal Peddler, which is why I think it will be a very good card.
I understand your reasoning, but I have to disagree. Mages already play decks that include generating cards that didn't start in your deck, AND the discount on this card applies to all cards, not just cards from other classes. Rogues don't play enough cards regularly that generate cards from other classes to justify including Ethereal Peddler, and the Peddler is not strong enough to make them start doing so.
Leyline Manipulator is going to make already strong and popular Mage decks even stronger and popular-er.
Coin value Kappa
I know it's a bad idea to judge cards before they come out (if Keleseth is anything to go by), but JEEZUS this card looks powerful. I compare this to Ethereal Peddler and it's not even fair. It's a lot easier for Mages to generate cards out of their deck than it is for Rogues to generate cards from their opponent's class. On top of that, it's not even just spells either, absolutely anything that was generated counts. It's also a Chillwind Yeti with an Elemental tag in addition to the upside. I'm not saying it's OP, but it looks insanely powerful.

Trying understand Hearthstone's Mana Economy is a trip down the rabbit hole.
