Maybe Al'Akir the Windlord will see some play again? It's a good card, you know, and it has 3 out of 4 keywords.
Paladin also has Lifesteal with Wickerflame Burnbristle
Auto include in all control and midrange decks.
Will Wickerflame Burnbristle get his text changed to "lifesteal".....?
That way, this could could work on Paladin
It has been announced that Wickerflame and Mistress of Pain will be reprinted to read Lifesteal.
Cool idea for a card, but remember that the card says "if your deck has...". So, in other words if you draw this card after you draw your taunt/divineshield/lifesteal/windfury minion, then it's just a 4 mana 3/3.
I still like the card, but man I can't help but think people are overrating it when I see "51% meta-defining".
I think a lot of people are forgetting that. You have to actually put cards with lifesteal, divine shield, taunt and windfury in your deck, and they all have to be in the deck on the turn you play this. Taunt is easy enough, but we will have to wait and see what classes will actually put good cards with all of those different effects to get full value. Right now, people aren't running windfury cards, and lifesteal is mostly restricted to this set. So far I don't see this outside of Paladin and Shaman.
RIP Silvermoon Guardian, not like it was played anyways
The wording on this card is so strange. Why didn't they just say, "If your deck contains a minion with Taunt, Divine Shield, Windfury or Lifesteal, gain those effects respectively."
If I remember correctly some MTG cards that have this effect have similar wording. Could be the source of inspiration they used.
That's correct, everyone is talking paladin, but they forget shaman has Al'Akir.
It's good, that's all, probably an auto include in the current Paladin decks, but at the end it may not be that good. Most of the time it would just be a Silvermoon Guardian with taunt because it can be traded easily by the opponent. Great against aggro tho.
Guys its a comment section, stop writing bible-sized reviews of the card.
card = gud
the end.
So this is the "bad card with good reviews" bingo card right? Let's analyze it:
First, note that the minion has to be in the deck for it to recieve the buffs. For example, if you have 2 lifesteal minions on your deck and draw both before you draw Corpsetaker, it gets no lifesteal. Now If you run Lifesteal, taunt and divine shield minions you should be able to get 1 or 2 of the buffs consistently, but don't think you'll be able to get all the 3 consistently. We all played Patches, Mad Scientist, Arcanologist, Finja... and sometimes you draw things in the wrong order. Because Corpsetaker depends on so many cards to function it will not be absolute thrash (getting no buffs), but it will also not get all 3 buffs most of the time. And let's not even talk about windfury because it sucks and windfury minion sucks.
Now let me say this. EVEN in the case where you get, say, divine shield+taunt, it's still a worse Tol'vir Stoneshaper and a better Silvermoon Guardian, which is still pretty bad. Now if you manage to get the dream of Taunt+Divine Shield+Lifesteal on turn 4, which again is unlikely to get every time, it's still just a bigger Wickerflame that costs 1 more and has +1/+1. Now this is not a bad deal but it's still not that strong: Wickerflame is not even run in some Paladin decks. And again, windfury is not even that relevant even if you get it. And for you to get it you would have to run windfury minions in your deck, which you don't want.
And for people with the idea of putting a lot of Divine Shields, Taunts and Lifesteals in the deck for Corpsetaker to be more reliable: you can probably do it with taunt, but how many useful Divine Shield minions do you know? Aside of Paladin (Tirion, Wickerflame sometimes) not a lot. For Lifesteal we'll have to see still if there are a good amount of them in the set, but I'm not optimistic that you'll be able to run 3 or 4 good Lifesteal minions on your deck.
Don't kid yourselves, this is not the next Shredder. Now I think it's going to see play in the right deck (probably paladin because they already have good Divine Shields and even more Taunts than the rest of the classes), but even in those decks it won't be overpowered. An unreliable +1 mana +1/+1 stats Wickerflame is not overpowered.
I think you underestimate how likely it is you will get 3 keywords on curve in paladin decks. And you will nearly always get two.
In shaman it is also possible you can get 3 keywords pretty easily if they make a new windfury minion that is decent (which is not likely granted).
Warlock zoo can also leverage this card easily with Voidwalker, Argent Squire and some life steal minions that are very likely for warlock.
How consistent the buffs are depends on deck building skills if you have 3 minions for each keyword you should always have all 3 consistently for 1/2 of the game. IMO you only start gimping a deck once you try and include 4KW.
I think that maybe this could be the best turn 4 play in the new meta.
I think most people overestimate how likely it is to get 3 kewords. If you run 3~4 minions for each keyword it's almost garanteed, but if you run only 2 (which is what I expect you can fit in a deck whithout putting bad minions) it'll not always get all 3. In fact you'll almost never get the 3 buffs on both copies of Corpsetaker, if you're running 2. And if you're not getting 3 it is really bad. Also, I'll say again but I think Windfury is almost irrelevant even if you somehow get it (which is also unlikely because windfury minions suck). Also, most people overestimate how good a +1 mana +1/+1 Wickerflame is when it's not even run in that many decks.
I still think this is the "Bad card with good reviews" card in the bingo, but we'll see.
Also, apparently you can't ever say a card is bad even if you explain why you think so because otherwhise you're downvoted to hell even if future proves you're right. I still remember people saying Scaled Nightmare was OP with Cold Blood.
Wickerflame can do allot of work if played right don't underestimate him he saved my ass more than once. Honestly he's a staple in all pally decks.
Just for pally if you play wickerflame, Bolivar, Tirion, 2 stonehills, 2 chillblade champions, that's 4 taunts, 3 divine shields, and 3 life steals for only 7 cards... This core package makes corpsetaker very very reliable for pally IMHO.

I'd put it into the 'OP in Arena' category.
You can easily count this as a 4mana 3-3 Divine Shield, Taunt. Most likely.
Depends on amount of taunts n divine shields i guess. Also do you think that arena card 4 mana 3/3 with divine shield is good?
