Use this card in roughly the same conditions you would use Dirty Rat
Nobody sane is gonna play it at turn 2.
You play it with brawl or when your opponent has few/no minions in hand or mana doesn't matter much (late game)
also good against decks that run few minions (mage) and you still DON'T play it at turn 2 (think: dirty rat)
it's a tech against fast midrange and aggro for the later turns of the game when the enemy has a small hand or again the mana doesn't matter it's kind of a panic button late game 10 armor is quite a lot.
The problem HOWEVER and might be why this card isn't that great is that similar cards that restore a lot of HP didn't saw play before, you could play iron hide, but nobody does.. is the 5 armor + 1 mana worth the hustle?
Might be bad because of the last reason not cause the downside might be that the card could not see any play without a downside..
what's for sure I really like those kind of cards that you can't just play them.
Well, if you think about it... Double the cost of Ironhide and gives double the armour. Also I feel like 10 armour is a pretty ludicrous amount to gain for 2 mana from one card. I think it could make a one-of as a tech card for that midrange warrior deck that doesn't exist yet. Control has enough armour gaining abilities from cards that are too slow for a midrange to play well, but a midrange warrior probably can't afford to use hero power, armour smith, backalley smith or shield block as they are very slow. This card, I imagine, would be for the midrange warrior to use agains aggro or midrange decks. Due to spending mana playing on curve, the midrange warrior probably doesn't have a lot of armour and if they get to the point where they have the aggro deck top decking they may be pretty low on HP and all it takes is hunter hero power or top decking a Leroy to die. It's situations like this where I feel spending 2 mana to gain 10 armour will close out the game in your favour as aggro and midrange decks have to resort to ignoring the board state and just going face eventually. At that point, it often doesn't matter if the midrange player has stabilized their board condition if they're sitting on 4 hp. Gaining 10 armour could ruin the other player's hopes of widdling you down those last few points.
Edit: I don't think this hypothetical midrange deck will dethrone Control Warrior or Pirate Warrior, just give players a midrange option for warrior if they like that playstyle and need to do warrior quests. Niot every deck needs to be tier one for someone to want to play it.
Another risky 2 mana card like Dirty Rat. I like the idea and the high risk high reward mechanics though and I bet this will be in many people's decks.
If this card reduced the costs for only next turn it would be great but now it doesn't seem so perfect
I think it is good card to play after Sulfuras because you can't armor up with your hero power anymore and you can also clean the minions with your hero power. But I am not sure if there will place for this card in quest warrior decks.
I think this is an interesting mind games/tie breaker card, I suspect this will see more play than you'd initially think.
Either you play it while your opponent has a nearly empty hand, you or use it to end a stalemate, bait your opponent into playing minions.
You might even scare your opponent into thinking you have a Brawl when you don't.
Why is everyone giving this card hate? It's clearly a combo/tech card designed to either bait for a brawl or other board clear, or set up for a massive shield slam. There's also the case of just being a flat 10 armor for cheap if you suspect the opponent doesn't have many minions. I'm not saying its not risky, but its definitely not trash either.
I would imagine most warriors that play this card have something in their hand ready to deal with the onslaught of minions. Blizz has made terrible card design in the past, but i dont think this is one of them. We also need to wait to see what else comes out in this set, so calm the hell down people.
2 Mana 7/7? *shudders*
cheapest brawl trick in history
not falling for it, sorry :)
Well, you guys complain, but 100 free dust is never bad!
It's worse than a good epic card, that's for sure.
Strong case to be made for worst card in the set. At least it's epic so it doesn't screw arena warriors that bad.
Ok everyone in team 5 was smoking weed when they designed the card....Just remember one horrible card : Iron Hide
Now lets double the effect and the cost but...make it epic and put a downside that instant loses you the game against any non spell heavy deck....taaaadaaa->Bring It On!
Well that’s obviously good against freeze mage yet if you’re playing control warrior you’re usually winning.
this is one of the cards which you need to see in practice...we can only guess if it’s bad or not...
"My Minions Cost (2) Less. I Guess I'll Dump All My Hands On The Board."
*ding-ding
"Godammit"
Could be good against aggro decks that vomit their hands early without much reload. Then you'd only discount 1-2 minions and hope to brawl them away.
This seems like a card that is hard to evaluate without knowing how the KOFT meta will shake out.
This is good against Aggro. You just dont play this on turn 2. You wanna Play it around 5,6,7 after the Pirate Warrior or Token Druid dumped all they drew so far and you cleared their board to then burst armor out of burn range and chill until you kill them or they concede.
Against other "normal" decks you wanna probably play this as late as possible when they dont spend their mana completely anyways or when they are low on Cards.
Against Combo decks like freeze Mage this will make it even easier too.
With what we have seen so far i´d give it a 4/5.
tech against mage, otherwise why?
If you see a Warrior use this, there's a 99.99% chance they have a Brawl in hand. The other 0.01% is that they've lost their sanity.
