Would be too OP, probably.
It is not working with Shadowform!?!?!?!?
Why Blizz why?
So much potential to use the 3dmg shadowform and it doesent work... i am realy sad about this
how is this working with quests ? which starts in you hand so your deck is all shadow spells?
Just to be sure, “nutural” spells cancels this effect right?
Yes, a spell with no school is not a Shadow spell.
Synergy with Grand Archivist and the final quest reward for Seek Guidance, the 10-cost Purified Shard.
Edit: Nevermind, didn't realize start of game effects happen before mulligan. (Thanks to Boatlurker)
Nope. Seek guidance is not a shadow spell, thus preventing bishop, without rule change.
(Hand cards still count as deck)
genn doesn’t trigger at the start of the game, when your deck only contains even cost cards, when 1 cost quest is in hand.
So start of game effects trigger before cards in hand are considered? Good to know I guess. I might have been confused because I thought I remembered Prince Malchezar's effect happened after mulligan. I wonder what the design reason is for this limitation other than preventing quests
i am pretty sure start of game efect trigger after you muligan and press done so how this work if you have q in hand and all shadow spells in deck
So...bad idea but if I have no spells then does this trigger?
I may very well change my mind after we've had a chance to play with it, but as of now, I think this is the kind of card that would be great in the Core set after Stormwind rotates out. Shadow Priest should always be an option for Priest, and it might be fun to rebuild it using the different Shadow spells that are available in future years.
No spells are all shadows? :P
it could be good if it receives the right support, the improved hero powers were game-breaking a few expansions ago, but I think the game power crept enough to just make it good rather than op
Super Excited for the Shadow Priest archetype!
I honestly like the potential here, not having mind blast kinda sucks though. Encourages minion heavy playstyle
At least the dark version isn't stealing a copy of my deck 🥰
I'm a fan of Start of Game effects. As long as they don't break the game, I think there is some good design space that can be experimented with. Definitely considering crafting this because I already have fun with aggro priest in wild ladder.
5 star design
in my opinion
4 to 5 stars power standard
2 stars power wild (other decks too powerful)
I am pretty sure this will break the game. -It will be better in wild, because all the Highlander cards are “no spells” anyways.
Healing is not important if you can just prevent damage by pinging minions.
Odd mage was always playable in wild, not good but playable. Now you get odd mage with all priest highlander cards, while playing even cost cards and still really good shadow spells: Raise dead, soul mirror.
Close to tier 0 in wild.
-Shadow bolt and leeroy can kill dark glare.
-ping prevents faire game from drawing cards for secret mage.
-ping replaces most removal spells for card advantage and disruption.
And for standard it will be strong as well.
Only question I'd like answered is if you add C'Thun, the Shattered do you get shadowform or will it add spells first
considering that c'thun doesn't turn off Genn (even decks in wild) I would assume it works, since the spells get added to your deck AFTER the game starts. I'd bet money that it works just fine.
