Hello there random but awesome guy. Black control was also my favorite. I used to play UB control decks (actual control decks), but I always prefered discard from counter. There is a joy in countering a card, where you can see the smile of your opponent fading, but there's a bigger joy in discarding their hand, bit by bit and see them drown in despair.
Even when I wasn't playing Black or UB decks, sometimes I was playing BR or BG midrange or something with a combo in it. It always felt challenging to me to be forced to play in a non-conventional way.
That's why I am fed up with all those Hearthstone-whiners that don't want Tickatus-esque cards in the game. They feel like snowflakes with their special decks. But only MTG players know the struggle.
Really cool, but I don't think that "destroy your own deck" strategy is gonna work cause, just as it happened with discard archetypes in the past, you don't want to lose certain cards cause if you happen to destroy your win condition you lose.
Discard warlock is a good deck in Wild. Si it's all about the strengh of the supportting cards around any strategy.
Im talking exclusively about standard. In wild you have a huge amount of options and everything is different.
aw hell naw
