Returns & Exchanges Is This Week's Brawl! Get a Sweet Card Back, Find Bad Decks!
The only thing better than receiving a gift, is returning it! Build a deck of 20 minions, we'll give you 10 random spells, and then gift it to your opponent. Let's see who wants to swap back?
Trivia
- This is a brand new brawl.
- This brawl is a part of the Winter Veil 2018 Hearthstone event.
- A rare brawl where you get to create a deck for your opponent - make it especially bad.
- A card back is rewarded this time around instead of the usual pack. It's so far unique to this year's Winter Veil.
How it Works
- Build a 20 card deck of minions.
- 10 random spells are added to the deck at the start of the game.
- Mulligan from your deck.
- Swap decks with your opponent. You receive a Gift Receipt (5 mana) which allows you to switch decks back.
- Gift Receipt when played will also destroy your opponent's Gift Receipt.

I have build a trash deck full of 0 attack minions and 1/1s... got lucky to get savage roar from random spells and my opponent didn’t want to change for some reason anyway so I got lucky with some other Druid cards too... not to mention I drew his DK...
If you use Whizbang the Wonderful, you get 30 HP instead of 20.
The sneaky thing you can do is to let your opponent think your deck is terrible but actually put few enabler cards that make it work, opponent most likely have only terrible cards and will swap.
Yea, I tried similar idea with discardlock. Works ok, but inconsistent. Best I've seen so far is Rogue that built a pirate deck revolving around her own hero power. To me they were just weak pirates, to her they were buffed from the synergy.
Jaina's expression reminds me of my ex when you know.... #feelsbadman
By the "you know" i obviously meant: when she tried my cooking... What did you guys think?
Finally, my Duskfallen Aviana and Harbinger Celestia can see play.
Brilliant. I've unpacked both of those turds as well. Might as well use em.
XD
Im having fun with this one playing hunter and putting in a bunch of trash legendaries and minions that cant attack lol.
I did the same. Still won!
Is there a way to get the art of the Tavern without the text? I loved it and wanted to save it.
1 Classic Pack —> 1 Ugly Card Back
At first i had no idea there was a spell to change decks back so i got trolled into building a bad deck (which is a REALLY bad strategy) but somehow worked anyway:
if it werent for the so good nerfs arena changes and free packs the lost tavern brawl pack would rly made me mad but its ok now....i guess XD
Yeah the winning strategy is to go Warrior and make a deck with only awesome 5+ mana minions. Hold the beginning with armor + most likely cheap minions from your opponent's deck, swap as early as possible, deal with the oncoming good cardthreat that your opponent drew during the first 4 turns thanks to Warrior spells (and the armor that you stacked) and on the long run you cannot lose if your opponent made a purposedly shit deck.
Did this with druid and 7+ minions with oakheart, hadronox and all that good stuff. I think it's easier than with warrior.
This is the strategy I used. Warrior as well. Worked great. Opponent gets a couple good cards out of your deck since they draw a few but it doesn't make up for all the great cards you have once you swap back. Usually their terrible deck lets you play stuff early game too while they sit with expensive cards stuck in their hand. Geosculptor Yip works specially well here since most of the time it is an expensive low stat creature if your opponent gets it but can shine if you have it on your side.
