How to Clear the Upper Reaches Effectively - Frozen Throne Adventure
The Upper Reaches, the second wing of the Frozen Throne adventure is now live worldwide. Three new fights are yours for the taking along with a Frozen Throne card pack if you can defeat them all. You best get in there so that you're ready to take on the Lich King next week to earn yet another card pack.
Upper Reaches - Blood Queen Lana'thel
Our first boss this week is Blood Queen Lana'thel! This fight turns your hero into a vampire and requires that you buff a minion every turn through with your Vampiric Bite or... YOU DIE!
Upper Reaches - Professor Putricide
Good news everyone! Professor Putricide is in da house and he's been doing crazy things for science! This fight has three different stages to it with very different passive effects that will secretly test your power.
Upper Reaches - Sindragosa
The final fight of the week brings us to the Frost Wyrm, Sindragosa. She really hates you and just wants to flood your board with Block of Ice to prevent you from having any fun. Arms up!
Putricide is the only one being a serious threat, as having the correct deck isn't enough on itself to win. You actually need to draw quite well to win, but it's still reasonably doable.
Heres a simple strategy for each boss
Lanathael:
zoo or flood decks
Putridcide:
have eater of secrets (Literally just win with only that card)
Sindragosa:
weapons or have few spells for burst, also hunter is really nice for this
I think that these bosses are hard, and I think that they are harder than the last ones. ( probably because i had good decks for the first wing already) Its just that with the other ones you NEEDED special decks on account of their hero power. But for these bosses you can use any deck because they are just solid decks with not enough things forcing you to change your deck. Its not that they were just easy its just that they are to generic and that gives a sense of boredom, and that is why people are mad.
just use taunt warrior for the last two
Midrange hunter with 2 flares, u will play 3 games and it ll be done.
So after clearing all the bosses in each wing on all three regional accounts, I've amalgamated a bunch of useful cards against each boss into one kitchen sink deck that can beat each boss quite easily.
It's a very cheap deck to build and pretty easy to play so feel free to use this deck if you need to!
Oh my gosh guys blizzard can't please everyone! This was not built for pros only!!! Some people have a hard time defeating these bosses! And just remember that you are getting a FREE pack! Isn't that enough!
Atleast you had to build decks for Marrowgar and Saurfang, these could be beat with almost any deck, although I had to take some spells out to beat Sindragosa. I know we didn't pay for this adventure but I'd appreciate some Heroic modes.
blizzard promised a hard adventure. I beat all of these on my first 'real' try once I knew the bosses on my account with less than 20 packs open
Well I used:
Potion of Madness Divine Spirit Divine Spirit Inner Fire combo for first mission
Hunter with a lot of secrets a few good minions and DK as a finisher for second mission
Quest Warrior for the third mission (I didn't even tailor it, I won on first try with taunt warrior that I used in Ranked, just make sure that you have 3-4 weapons and try to go through 20 and 10 health with no minions on board)
The concept of the Blood Queen was nice, but too exploitable. I used a kazakus priest for the fight, easy win.
Putricide was beaten by using a full secrets mage, a bit more tough than the previous one, I found it fun though.
I used a taunt warrior for Sindragosa, it was too easy, maybe easier than the first fight.
I look for the heroic versions of these fights, however I would like to see more unique cards from these bosses' decks...
Heroic difficulty is gone with Missions, and a general difficulty is applied instead.
They said this adventure will be hard but this is so easy and not fun.
they told us lich king would be hard not the adventure
Adventure. Even game, when you open first wing, says that.
The key word here is "may". I do agree though, most of the missions are pretty easy to play through even if you have no clue what you are doing. The only one that I think was sufficiently challenging was Lord Marrowgar, simply because it was difficult to get exactly the cards you needed to kill him in one go. Let's hope that the Lich King will be the challenge we are all waiting for.
When I played against Sindragosa she never got any dragon synergy effects off; it was pretty sad actually.
I completed the three of them with my standard ladder Jade Druid lul
I completed all 3 with midrange hunter lul
This wing is VERY disappointing. It should have been much harder. Hopefully after we fully clear we get the epic fights like the old adventures.
