Matt Dixon art is nice
A friend of mine have just realised, that this is a vampire from expansion, which brings Lifesteal mechanic in game, and it doesn't have a Lifesteal. Instead, it manipulates opponent's deck, because... that's what vampires do, right?
mate anyone can steal life off a minion, it takes a real vampire to drain an entire card from your deck
death knight hero removed
Did really Blizzard just printed a card like this? I'm amazed.
Cool card. Not as strong as people might think.
I can already see my ,,luck,, with this card ^^
Oh my god, deck destruction finally in the game. This is going to be annoying to go up against, especially for Exodia Mage.
I agree about this card, but Defile may not fit into aggro decks very well, whereas Primordial Glyph fits just about everywhere.
I see your point. But if the deck does not run to fatigue, Gnomish Vampire will technically not win or lose your game.
The card you draw on turn x or y will be random, as will be the card that will be destroyed. The card you will get or not get is rng anyway, and the card would not have an impact on the gameplay itself (unless you draw your whole deck). Also, the Gnomish Vampire might just as well let you draw the winning card one turn earlier by destroying one that was useless at that point. However, a priori it doesn't make a difference.
It is true, however, that you will get information about which card was destroyed, and that might lead you to concede early.
This card will be a 2 of in every Warlock deck. There's no worse feeling that burning a card when your hand is full. This card will bring fear and terror to all.
The value of burning someone's Lyra or Medivh or Aya with a 2-mana epic card is pretty insane. I think there will be calls for a nerf before long.
Has it been confirmed who gets to see what is removed?
Obviously both players see the removed card.
So what are you people scared of? The card alone isn't that scary. Destroying only one RANDOM card won't even be that significant most of the time and if it does destroy a important card, well that's just a pity but it won't happen that much to make this instant viable. If you use a non-combo deck then you will experience this effect as if it didn't do anything as long as you didn't draw your whole deck. Still care?
The real scary part of this card is when a warlock deck would be build around it to combo it with Brann and the Ancient Brewmasters. But even then the effect wouldn't compare to that of a mill Rogue of Druid since Warlock just lacks the tools like Vanish, Sap, Naturalize or Mulch. Be happy this card wasn't released as a neutral card, because yes then the shackles of the to mill beasts would have been unleashed!
Okay just for convenience i've build a deck around Gnomish Vampire. There's is no way you could fully build a deck around her so i build it like my mill druid with which i've been relatively successful in the past. I've have to admit i think the deck could pull of some nasty tricks haha but it really requires a lot of dedication and a whole lot of dust!! So don't expect to see this anywhere soon on ladder or casual.
Anyway, i think i like the card. It only prevents you from drawing 1 card. That effect is so insignificant that it still can be considered as fun and luck when it really destroys a good card!
Edit: Concerning the downvotes, I guess some people do get scared when someone builds a deck around this card and just hate to see mill decks in particular :P
This is sooo good! I can't stop laughing! I guess HE can't either...
Just run two Wisps to counter two of these. Problem solved Kappa.
Yeah, I would not mind this card when we were in Eternal with 75+ card, up to 4 copies of one card and real graveyard manipulation. but this card is IMHO too strong for Hearthstone especially because it has statwise zero downside to run it. People will hate it and it won't make warlock a top tier class. So there is absolutely no benefit in printing this card.
I loved the card but if there is a mechanic like that, there must be a mechanic to reach graveyard. It can be rng effect since Hs is based on rng but there must be.
Maybe a spell like Eternal Servitude or Resurrect that their text like "Discover a minion from your graveyard and resummon it" or "Resummon a minion from your graveyard" instead of their own text or they can change them like that. You can do this for spells too like "Discover a Spell from your deck and cast it" or "Discover a random spell from your graveyard and add a copy of it to your hand" or "Cast a random spell from your graveyard" or something like that. I said all these because I thought that they can bring some other "discard your opponent's card" mechanic because they opened a new door which they said they don't think to bring discard opponent's card mechanic to the game according to Ben Brode.
Counters need counters because it is balancing the game. If there are too much cards like this, it breaks the game. There must be an opposite effect of that card. Aggro can counter this effect I know that but aggro isn't a real counter for it. This card is like Dr. Boom. All decks can contain it. It's a control card, is also an aggro card and also a midrange card.
Anyway I dwelled on a subject but I guess you understood what I'm on.
I wonder if you have a chance to get the discarded card from Cruel Dinomancer
