Rogue seems strong. I like the secret package and been toying around with the new stealth spell to buy time for late game C’thun and Yogg. Probably my favourite class so far this expansion.

Cool! Sounds interesting. I wonder if secret rogue will be strong. It seems Druid and Warlock are strong so far.
I’m testing secret miracle with fox and the new card draw, sometimes get either big value or big Edwin, or both
still dies horribly to aggro, but manages to deal with Priest and other control decks

Pherosizm posted a message on Where do you see Rogue headed in the meta?Posted in: General DiscussionI'm really into the shuffle package that came with this set. It's finally time for Stowaway to see his time in the spotlight. :)
Still not sure how I feel like the rest is going to shake out, though. I could see a resurgence in galakrond rogue and a bit more of a controlly C'thun deck, too.
Let's just wait and see what demon hunter deck the meta settles on and then we can just build counters to that. /sarcasm?

OgorTheMogre posted a message on Some thoughts on the new Old GodsPosted in: Card DiscussionWell, I suppose I have something to say about my vision of C'Thun, the Shattered.
I see this card not as something that can win games on it's own. Instead, it can serve as support and secondary win condition for control decks (wild reno decks in particular).
It's slow, but it gives additional Assassinate, Excavated Evil, pseudo-Avenging Wrath and 5 mana 6/6 taunt, and c'thun itself is the final punch in the face of fatigued opponent. It has incredible value for it's 1 card slot.
I feel it should be a nice addition in many wild control decks, as you have basically no reason not to run it.

McDurp posted a message on Which free legendary you got after patch?Posted in: Card DiscussionI dont recall getting legendaries when I logged in. I was however able to open all 128 Packs and ended up with:
Tenwu of the Red Smoke Golden
I know for a fact those were from opening packs.

TallStranger posted a message on Can a F2P player have a complete collection?Posted in: General DiscussionI'd be surprised if many p2p players have a "complete collection." I pay some, and I'm nowhere close to a complete collection, nor will I ever get there. And I'm more than fine with that. There are a lot of crappy epics and legendaries in previous expansions that are a complete waste of dust. I'm happy I never opened them.
A better question is how much do you have to play (since that's the only way for f2p to get the gold they need for the card packs) to be able to build the decks you want to play? And the answer to that is: it depends on how many decks you want to build and how expensive they are.

TallStranger posted a message on Streamer SpoilersPosted in: General DiscussionWho cares if they let a few people play the expansion before it's released? It's a great way to market their product.
If you don't want your experience of the expansion to be spoiled, there's a simple solution: don't watch the videos. In my view, most of the decks that streamers (and people in general) try out on the first week or two are either not particularly good or are, at the very least, unrefined. Nothing's stopping you from creating your own deck: just don't expect it to be competitive in the long run. (Nothing personal: the fact is no single person is capable of competing with the entire community in refining a basic deck archetype.)

Enjoyable last game with this deck at D5. Got to play C'Thun three times before finally sinking a res Priest. Happy days!

I've found Duels fun so far. I'm much more likely to break up my Standard ladder play with a game of Duels than one of the other modes. I rarely play Arena and Battlegrounds has never appealed.
The new mode also gives me a reason to learn about the older sets. I never had much of an incentive before as I don't play Wild.
Another new game mode coming next year.

Played a couple of runs this afternoon after work. It's good fun!

In recent times I've tended to amass slightly over 8,000 gold in the 4 months leading up to a new expansion - mostly completing my dailies on ladder. While I suspect I play more than most, I doubt I'm a complete outlier or my experience is too atypical.
Releasing Darkmoon Faire 3 weeks earlier than expected means my pile will be about 1,400 gold or 14 expansion packs lighter. On the upside, we get to play the new content sooner.
Additionally, landing in the mid-diamond ranks most months nets me an additional 8 packs per month (4 SA and 4 classic packs), a sprinkling of dust and gold, and the occasional epic card. I have 5-6 Arena tickets, too, with rewards attached.
HS isn't cheap or overly generous, but I don't mind paying for a game that I play regularly and is being actively developed.
The upcoming game changes sound promising. Let's see.

Big fan of DH. Don't main it, but think it's been a great addition to the game. Limited RNG, interesting flavour and good for new or returning players.
Starting HS now is a time-intensive and/or expensive endeavour. It took me the better part of two years to get a halfway decent standard collection. DH allows newbies to play competitive decks without too much difficulty.

Picked up Headmaster Kel'Thuzad, Keymaster Alabaster and 2500ish in dust from the bundle.

There's no reason one can't be on HearthPwn, Out of Cards and Hearthstone Top Decks, is there?

First pre-release bundle I've purchased.
5 legendaries from the 85 packs: Forest Warden Omu (pack 5), Rattlegore (pack 36), Lord Barov (pack 48), Mindrender Illlucia (pack 63) and a golden Speaker Gidra (second-to-last golden pack). 19 epics.
Haven't been particularly keen on Priest, Paladin or Warrior since starting to play in early 2019, but let's see how things turn out!

Everyone gets a free legendary and 6 SA packs through quests.
