They are limiting gold to f2p players to try to get them to buy packs. I guess the few suckers who pay to win in this game did not feel they had enough of an advantage.
Many f2p players are considering playing wild only, battlegrounds only or leaving the game entirely, Standard will be filled with p2w players and bots. Enjoy that.
Sigh, not again. So you have proof that they're limiting gold to f2p? Of course not. Still spewing the same old nonsense. Still without a shred of evidence.
To respond to OP: Since there's really nothing else you can buy with gold, and since they're still rewarding you with gold under the new system, it seems clear you will still be able to purchase card packs with gold. Per one of the designers "In nearly all circumstances, you should be able to earn slightly more gold and more non-gold (card packs, etc)" under the new system. But we still do not know the details of how quickly you'll earn XP, how much XP you'll need to move from one level to another, etc. Until we know that, we can't do a thorough analysis of the impact of the change on most people.

First let's look at fifa ultimate for a good pay2win example. You pay money to get better players, if two players have the same skill, the player who pays more money is likely to win.
In hs you can pay for flexibility, a better chance for a better hero. Does it mean you win? No, because you can get 4 bottom-tier heroes and the guy with 2 chances can get s-tier heroes. Is it pay2win ? Slightly, but does it ruins the game for everyone else? No, because I can still get a s-tier hero without tavern pass.

Oh boy, think for yourself next time you spent 80 bucks only for the early access of a new game mode "bc streamers hyped it".
Few points here:
-Streamers like it bc ... they like it. They aren't lying just bc your opinion differs from theirs, smh.
-It is early access with currently 1 hero power/treasure to choose from 4 heroes. This will expand at the very least on release.
-80 bucks are for the 85 packs and hero portrait + BG perks + EA - not JUST EA
To mirror some comments: Grow up and move to the salty threat.

Hey, if I can craft the cards from it I want, i got zero complaints.
I didnt like the last mini expansion though. Too expensive for me and the few cards i wanted i couldnt even craft. So i felt shut out of a lot of stuff. Warrior especially.

I just don't understand why would they choose to release it a month earlier specially under this circumstances. It gives players less time to gather gold while also making it harder for some people to get pre purcheases due to covid.

are the solar and lunar eclipse collectable cards or cards generated by through the druids legendary?

It's not like they're taking anything away from you.

I dont see the problem. Arent there more games out there that reward long time players over new comers? Some people are here for the long run and didnt dust everything just to scrap the bottom of the barrel

yes soul DH farms them. + it's quite powerful against the rest of the decks

I've found Duels fun so far. I'm much more likely to break up my Standard ladder play with a game of Duels than one of the other modes. I rarely play Arena and Battlegrounds has never appealed.
The new mode also gives me a reason to learn about the older sets. I never had much of an incentive before as I don't play Wild.
Another new game mode coming next year.

In recent times I've tended to amass slightly over 8,000 gold in the 4 months leading up to a new expansion - mostly completing my dailies on ladder. While I suspect I play more than most, I doubt I'm a complete outlier or my experience is too atypical.
Releasing Darkmoon Faire 3 weeks earlier than expected means my pile will be about 1,400 gold or 14 expansion packs lighter. On the upside, we get to play the new content sooner.
Additionally, landing in the mid-diamond ranks most months nets me an additional 8 packs per month (4 SA and 4 classic packs), a sprinkling of dust and gold, and the occasional epic card. I have 5-6 Arena tickets, too, with rewards attached.
HS isn't cheap or overly generous, but I don't mind paying for a game that I play regularly and is being actively developed.
The upcoming game changes sound promising. Let's see.

Big fan of DH. Don't main it, but think it's been a great addition to the game. Limited RNG, interesting flavour and good for new or returning players.
Starting HS now is a time-intensive and/or expensive endeavour. It took me the better part of two years to get a halfway decent standard collection. DH allows newbies to play competitive decks without too much difficulty.

Picked up Headmaster Kel'Thuzad, Keymaster Alabaster and 2500ish in dust from the bundle.

There's no reason one can't be on HearthPwn, Out of Cards and Hearthstone Top Decks, is there?

First pre-release bundle I've purchased.
5 legendaries from the 85 packs: Forest Warden Omu (pack 5), Rattlegore (pack 36), Lord Barov (pack 48), Mindrender Illlucia (pack 63) and a golden Speaker Gidra (second-to-last golden pack). 19 epics.
Haven't been particularly keen on Priest, Paladin or Warrior since starting to play in early 2019, but let's see how things turn out!

Everyone gets a free legendary and 6 SA packs through quests.
