Hum I am expecting more of the same. Solitary decks, combo/OTK decks....nothing to counter properly the cancer decks. Not excited anymore...waiting for rotation in April.

posted a message on Tempo Mage back soon with a strong Mana wyrm

I know now why the devs nerfed Mana wyrm and they were right to do so. I am the first to admit I was wrong by criticizing their decision.
The reason: the 2 new classic cards for mage: Tome of Intellect and Icicle.

The synergy of a Mana Wyrm (at 1 mana) with sorcerer's apprentice and these spells would bring the snowball effect of Mana wyrm to an insane level too early.

    Icicle
The new tempo mage will be a powerful deck even with Mana wyrm at 2 mana. Icicle will be there to protect your first minions and draw a card!!! Arcane intellect will probably not be needed because of Luna and aluneth. If they have the coin and mana wyrm players will probably mulligan for apprentice and icicle and tome of intellect.

    Tome of intellect
An extra mini glyph in your hand. Zero mana with Apprentice which can add another tome intellect immediately playable at zero mana...you can imagine the synergy with Mana wyrm. If it adds a secret to your hand you can imagine the possibilities, it could mean a swift win...

posted a message on How can you beat Odd Warrior?
    Quote from zaycakitayca >>

Odd warrior is good against few decks like odd rogue and zoo warlock, but it has it's weaknesses. There's only 4 aoe removals in that deck (Dyn-o-matic is not an aoe), so if you're able to spam the board 5 times you've won that game. There's also very little amount of late game finishers: odd warrior can't afford traditional big guys like Geosculptor YipRotfaceThe Lich King and even Grommash Hellscream, so he'd try to finish the game by Baku the Mooneater or Direhorn Matriarch (along with whatever he pulls from Omega Assembly and Delivery Drone, but there's no much of a big threats there too). I've played various decks in TBP, and from my experience odd warrior loses almost every game against control warrior with Dead Man's Hand, it loses to Mecha'thun priest unless incredibly lucky draw order, it loses to resurrect priest as well, it loses to Shudderwock shaman, it has pertty tough matchup against token druid (the Strongshell Scavenger one), the only deck with which I constantly losing to odd warrior is Aluneth mage.

Thanks for the tips...seems to me that token druid is the way to go.

posted a message on Thijs' Aston Martin Mage

The problem with this deck and actually all tempo mage decks right now is the mulligan. You don't get wyrm and, more importantly, arcanologist, you are in trouble. Arcanologist is an extremely vital card....good card to play on turn 2...gives you a secret to play next AND at the same time draws a card...that help you thin out your deck, giving you a better chance to get, say, Aluneth or Kirin.

Good deck. Auto loss against mechatun decks. I have a lot of trouble against druid decks specially maligos. But it's the ultimate Heal zoolock and quest rogue killer. Favored against odd warrior. Of course if you draw Jaina too late then it's gg. There's a draw card problem and the play elemental condition slows you sometimes when you want to play Bonfire....you can do it for tempo....but then no draw and that can cost you the game when you are looking for jaina.

posted a message on Ways to counter Combo decks

I am trying to list all the possible ways to counter these dreaded combo decks like the druids deck and mechatun decks and others OTK decks (usually using spells to finish). I am sure many of you have tested different options. So please take a look at my list and tell us which ones you already tested and how did they fare.

I am sure that the list is not exhaustive (you are welcome to share). I am also aware if these cards are included, they would mess up certain decks. Nevertheless I think it's worth trying to see if one or more of them can fit in the more versatile decks.

    OVERDRAW

Only a few classes, if I am not wrong, that can do it: Druid with Naturalize, Mage with Research Project, rogue with Vanish (its possible so I have to count it in).

    MORPH A COMBO CARD

    Demonic Project  (Warlock only)

    NEUTRAL COUNTERS:

    INCREASE COST OF SPELLS

Nerubian Unraveler: Played at the right moment that could mess up some combos (like Malygos druid)

    INCREASE COST OF MINIONS:

Mana Wraith that would potentially be the counter against Mechatun decks specially priest.

    - if you play Nerubian and Mana wraith on the same turn...that should kill any combo out there. question is you must figure out when to play them.

I started testing by adding naturalize in my token druid deck with some success against druids, priest (mechatun) and warlock (mechatun).

posted a message on M3TABREAKER - Secret Pali ft. Dinosize

I played a bit with this deck and yes it's fun...strong one but not a meta-breaker though. One thing I would recommend....keep Call to arms when you have the coin as you need to thin out your deck in order to increase your chance to draw divine favor. If CAT is not in play quite early...it's harder to win.

posted a message on Control decks and Mecha'thun

I started to see more mechatun decks (priest and warlock) after rank 5 and also some combo priest. I use Token druid and added to my deck 2 Naturalize. As these decks typically used draw cards I wait until he has 8 or even better 9 cards in hand and play naturalize...If he has acolyte on the board it's even better....ping it then naturalize...one key card gone gg.. this does not work only for mechatun decks but all other hoarding decks. Mage could potentially use Research Project in BS mage. These the 2 ways (for a control deck) I know can be effective against these decks besides what aggro decks usually do.

posted a message on Players who keep playing on perfectly knowing that they will loose...

I play all sorts of decks, first , I want to know them inside out when I play them or against them. I rotate 3 to 4 decks when on the meta. It's...less boring and climbing is not an objective anymore it all about analysis, strategy and deck tweaking. Now what is really confusing lately is the strange behaviour of many players. Example: When I encounter too many druids and warriors I pull out my Mecha'thun priest deck. Against them it's auto-win apart some of the few matches (out of dozens) I lost. They can do whatever they want, I win.  ALL of them know this priest deck and they all know it's a guaranteed loss. So why do they keep going on? In the dozens I encounter only one conceded. Seriously? Concede guys!! That's what I do and I move on to the next match...JEEEZ!!!

    posted a message on Savjz's Mecha'thun OTK

Ok I found a way to play around Demonic Project for Warlock and Explosives Runes if mage wants to kill

Reckless Experimenter. You just add to your deck +2 Snowflipper Penguin in place of Mirage Caller and -1

Northern Cleric. It gives you chance save your combo cards. Moreover when you don't need these cards (against other classes). Just put them on the board when you Psychic scream to add more messed up cards in opponent's deck. And when you PS the penguins (they are beasts) in the decks of Deathrattle Hunter or Taunt druid its messes up their summoning cards. I managed with a bit of luck to beat a few Warlocks this way...better than 100% chance to loose.

Currently 7-0 with a mix between the budget and full deck. The deck really shines when you can get a turn 1 combo with Galvanizer/Mecharoo/Lumi.
