I dont think the Wild Growth nerf was necessary when you nerf Nourish already. It does rise some questions that they nerf 2 classic cards, 4 years after release....
Other nerfs are fine by me. It's a shame that Leeching Poison was not a problem in itself but became one because of Kingsbane.
I'm happy Blizzard recognizes that some decks are just unfun to play against (Shudderwock, Kingsbane,...) and does something about it. They don't need to have an excessive power lvl to justify a 'nerf'.
Would have loved to see a nerf to Spell Hunter as well (Spellstone to 6 mana?), but I'll take these.
Got legend with this deck this month so thanks :). I like how the deck can win against pretty much anything (Odd Warrior isnt a thing atm, though that can change). Maly/Togg Druid is really hard tho. The good match-up against Hunter and aggro decks also works well in its favor.
Exactly 1 week after the expansion hit I got Legend this month (which is the earliest I ever made it). Aggro Overload Shaman got me from Rank 4 to 1. Mind Blast Priest took care of the last 4 stars. Both decks do really well against Hunter.
Switched decks because of a lot of Odd Paladins at Rank 1, which is a hard match-up for the Shaman (not unwinnable though).
Played around with it and doing pretty good (rank 4). Some losses because of my own mistakes, should get better as I play it more. The huge amount of Hunters and Kingsbane Rogues have made me switch an Acolyte for Harrison.
I also included 2 Twilight Drakes and a Crowd Roaster substituting 2 Scorchers (they have been underwhelming for me) and a Scaleworm. I can see Scorcher making a return if things like Odd Paladin become more popular but I hardly see em on ladder for now.
Ok thx; I will test it out with a Roaster then :). Acolyte + Cabal is nice, I have a lot of experience with it too hehe but it takes 3 cards to be in hand (dragon activator) and comes at 9 mana. Roaster is a less clunky as it only needs 2 cards in hand and comes at 7 mana.
Considering Druid is still popular & Odd Warrior might pick up on popularity once the meta settles, maybe Archmage Benedictus is an idea to include.
Interesting deck, will try it out tonight. How's the match-up against Hunters and Odd Mage?
And how's Scorcher working out for you? I seem to be more inclined to the Crowd Roaster as it gives you a single removal option which this deck lacks, while it already has quite some mass removal.
My no.1 deck to try out this expansion was Odd Mage and it's been working great for me so far, climbed from rank 5 to 3 on first day.
One of the cards I'm running is Astromancer and I couldn't find a 'list of quality' of a random x drop which would help me decide more easily at what hand size she's optimal.
So I quickly dived into the collection and made a small calculation myself and I wanted to share it with you. I made it quite fast so it's not a thorough analysis (I only did it from 6-10) but it's a good start. I divided each mana cost into 3 categories: bad, ok and good.
*This also works for any other cards that generate a random minion from a certain mana cost (Evolve Shaman, Spiteful decks).
6-Drops: 13 bad ones, 25 ok ones and 20 good ones. A lot of great minions reside at the 6-mana slot: Cairne Bloodhoof, Damaged Stegotron and Hungry Ettin are some examples. With only a 22% chance of a bad outcome, you might want to think twice before going for a 7-drop. Worst outcomes being Possessed Lackey and a handful 3/3 or 3/4 minions.
7-Drops: 17 bad ones, 11 ok ones and 20 good ones results 35% of the time in a bad result. Among the bad ones are minions like Lynessa Sunsorrow and Giggling Inventor alongside Azalina Soulthief and a bunch of 4/4s. Silver Vanguard is obviously a bad outcome for Odd Mage as well. The new cards Linecracker and Amani War Bear deserve a mention for making this number a bit more BEARable in Rastakhan, and for Odd Mage getting an Abominable Bowman is actually really good if you had a cat or Baku die.
8-Drops: This used to be the magic number, but times have changed and the results are similar to 7-drops: 12 bad ones, 7 ok ones and 15 good ones. Again, there's a 35% chance of a bad outcome. Hir'eek, the Bat says hello.
9-Drops: 5 bad ones, 2 ok ones and 14 good ones. You're being let down about 25% of the time and there's a 66% chance you're going to be really happy with the result. The worst ones to get are Dragoncaller Alanna, Dragonhatcher, Master Oakheart & Ozruk. Comparing this to the worst outcomes from other mana-costs I'd say this is the new magic number.
10-Drops: 1 ok one (Hakkar the Soulflayer) and 7 good ones. So yeah Spiteful Priest really wants Mind Control to hit from Spiteful Summoner and Spiteful Druid is waiting for a try-out. You have a 87,5 % chance to get atleast an 8/8.
Hope this helps some people out :).
If the interest is there I might make a more thorough analysis taking into account average stats. Now I just qualified each minion as bad/ok/good, but the problem with this calculation is that the 1/1 is the same category 'bad' as the 4/4. The qualification of good/ok/bad does take into account that it's easier to go for 6-mana minion than it is for a 9-mana minion for example so I was a little less strict in my appreciation when the mana cost was lower.
I like Kibler, I really do but the talking was just sooo excessive. Especially considering that the feedback on the cards is totally not objective. Sometimes cards are just shitty, but because it's an official reveal stream I can understand you don't say it. Fair enough, but then don't go on for 2 mins about a shit card.
Dean Ayala also doesn't really help the fun factor of the stream.
So yes I agree, worst reveal stream ever. But sitll hyped for Rastakhan! :)
I experimented with a Token Shudderwock deck in Boomsday. This fits right in as it will give you your bloodlust back from shudderwock who also generates a whole new board.
Prolly gonna be a bit of a meme deck still but it was quite fun so gonna give it another spin in Rastakhan.
People need to understand this is a tech card. And a good one for a lot of midrange decks.
Your deck's winrate improves against a lot of deck. Let's take a look at the current meta:
Evenlock & Controllock: Play this when you think your opponent is going to use his DK/Azari.
Maly & Togg Druid: Play this after Dreampetal Florist drops
Taunt Druid: Play this before Oakheart
Shudderwock: Play this once all combo pieces have been played and you think he can/will play shudder next turn (keep overload in mind)
Kingsbane rogue: Stalling their DK for a few turns is a big thing
Any Mechathun deck: Self-explanatory
The amount of times I was 1-2 turns off killing a combo deck when they killed me is so high this card convinces me to be a good tech card. Off course if the meta lacks a lot of combo decks this won't see play. I don't see this as a great card for aggro decks, but I could be wrong.
Even Shaman would be a great example of a deck that currently would use this card.

120 packs got me 6 Legendaries (not counting the free one). Not too happy about it :(.
Got a golden Griftah...

Aha, thanks I'll correct that!

Odd Mage, Rush Beast Warrior & Spiteful Priest are on top of the list for me. Honorable mention for Quest Hunter & Big Beast Druid.
After that I might 'copy' something I see while playing on ladder that looks fun.
I just hope people can chill a bit on first day and we won't see Odd Rogues everywhere....
