uhmmm.......Yugioh when i was a kid........with those pirated cards they were selling at convenience stores because the show was getting real popular with Kids, and the owner's of those stores were wanting quick cash (sometimes they also altered/edited the effects into broken effects that would have kids swooning over the cards they sold and buying more cards)....
i also used to love the "Pegasus rules"( as in using the rules of duelist kingdom in the anime) and hated the "pulled-out of his snobby ass kaiba rules" because they were way too advantageous to the player that could summon a tribute monster the sooner, and well as a kid i thought it was really wrong to be sacrificing monsters to achieve selfish goals, they had feelings.
Today in my free brawl pack I got Barongeddon, then I had a cup of fresh green tea. As a result of that, I think Priest is OP because my keyboard is not a mechanical one. I hope Blizzard will address this issue.
Pokemon TCG was the first for me, but people I knew mostly just collected, if you had a Charizard you became king of the school. Nobody actually had any idea how to play it though, haha.
Yugioh was the first that I started to play seriously, used to go to local tournaments, good times. Back when everybody ran 3x Pot of Greed and card effects were much simpler. Now they try and fit so much text into one card, I think I'm going to need a magnifying glass...
Thinking back I recall playing mostly cheap, quick easy decks that killed your opponents fast, and I found that hilarious. My god, I was the PW player.
Yugioh here. And people complain about power creep and the cost of the meta on HS fucking lol.
For those who don't know, yugioh is like hearth where doctor boom costs $100 alone and you need three just to compete. Plus no nerfs and a very ineffective banlist run by the same people selling the cards (so nothing from the newest set will ever be banned) Also, every card cost 0 mana and has charge.
People who complain about this game, especially in terms of cost, have never been serious about another card game.
You are over-exaggerating SO hard right now.
1. Power Creep is a much larger issue with Hearthstone because decks are smaller. A 4 mana 7/7 is manageable sometimes, but not all the time. Imagine making a 4 mana 6/6 that can't be targeted by spells or hero powers. 2. The Dr. Boom comment is hilarious. You can actually trade with other people to get cards easier instead of paying money. Dr. Boom would cost $30 at most in a card shop. Think I'm kidding? The most Raigeki has ever really gone for in a store is about $30. 3. You can't nerf a cardboard card. The closest you can get without banning is changing the ruling on card interactions, that's it. 4. "Nothing from the newest set will ever be banned" that's like expecting Blizzard to change a recently released card within a week. If something looks like it could be a problem for the game, they can step in and change the ruling on a card or ban cards in advance. 5. You can normally only play one minion at a time unless there are special summons. That's not just a cost, that's a restriction, one that we don't have with Hearthstone. Yes, there is no summoning sickness (except for the very first turn of the game) however you have to clear your opponent's monsters first. Everything has Charge AND Taunt.
Honestly, I wouldn't try telling other people they aren't very serious about a game when you have the audacity to make Yu Gi Oh sound much worse than it actually is. If you were serious about a card game, you wouldn't misrepresent one just to insult others, you little shit.
Strip Poker.
First TCG was cards created from the movie set Acceleracers. Then Pokemon and yugioh and Magic.

Yu-Gi-Oh
Magic: The Gathering. I started with a preconstructed red/white deck. Good memories! :)
My first cards were Pokemon, but the first CCG that I actually played (or rather, played according to the rules) was MTG.
