This reminds me, why i stopped adding players since years. I just wanted to see if my prediction of hs players is as good as my prediction of the matchmaker. And i was right. Makes me smile. He played a net deck and he was so bad.
Got back in the game a couple of weeks ago, and I climbed to diamond 5 playing mostly rogue and hunter. Feelsgoodman.
Also just played a priest with infinite healing(obelisk's eye) playing holy nova's, kartut defender etc and he still lost to my aggro rogue: secret passage into lethal right before he was going to pull away. GG
the game before the final game i got completely screwed over by RNG, my opponent was highlander mage and pretty much topdecked the perfect card 4 turns in a row. in the end it got extremely close, but they played very well, and eventually managed to get lethal on board, while i was off by a little. i emoted "thanks, well played", and surprisingly this wonderful person absolutly made my day, when they answered "thanks, well played" and conceded.
I just hit legend for the first time! And i did it with a Highlander Control Priest! Control decks are my favorite type of deck so it felt really good to accomplish this without forcing myself to play aggro.
The highlight was one mirror match and it was one of the craziest (and longest) games i have ever played. I won on my very last few cards. My opponent didn't play safe when he was finally ahead and he ended up being surprised by a Kayn Sunfury (obtained from Brightwing that came from Dragonqueen Alexstrasza) into two Apotheosis into two attacks from the minions i had on the board and 7 fatigue damage for exact lethal. If my opponent traded i would have lost. If he played Mindrender Illucia, he would have won as well. It's impossible to play around something as random as this but it's not impossible to play safe when you are about to win. Btw, we both kept our Illucia's in hand the whole game and never played her because it's just too risky in a mirror match. I know he had one because i got a copy of it from Envoy of Lazul.
Nothing better than wrecking an opponent that thinks he's got the game in the bag and emoting like a fuckturd. And, suddenly you pull a freakin magic lethal trick outta your ass... And then there's the golden silence, a true form of beauty. Mhhhhm, feelsgoodman
I was able to pull a huge turn using it and my spells... I had used an Evocation that turn as well and was running out of time... I frantically tried to play as many spells as possible and totally forgot I was still holding my Edwin VanCleef!
This would have been a record breaking Edwin, I am ashamed that I didn't make that play. My next turn I was able to hit face and left him with 1HP.
His following turn he dropped Malygos and burst me out. I definitely could have won if I kept my head and dropped Edwin.
But even though I lost, it was a great game and felt good for playing it. Thankfully, my opponent was respectful and didn't BM emote spam at the end, so I can remember this game fondly.
Playing the priest mirror. Opponent is playing anti-aggro version and i'm playing the value res verison. This is all in silver as i don't play much nowadays.
Opponent makes terrible plays all game (just throws out his pyros, uses plagues to kill 3 small minions 2 times, etc). So he's out of cards and i have 7 left in the deck and 9 value cards in hand, just waiting for him to play the murozond to finish the game :P He dies with me on 30 HP.
Then he adds me as a friend, i'm like 'sure why not, maybe he just wants to ask for the decklist or something', but no, he instantly starts with the line 'i'm playing the best deck in the game, how did i lose', which already had me giggle. But i'm not the worst so i explain to him why he lost (worse deck for the mirror, some wrong plays etc.), and i'm actually about to analyze some of his plays and tell him how to do that matchup better. But the guy keeps insisting that it's all RNG and he has the best deck, yadayada, basically starts being a dick, so i removed him as a friend.
Not the best 'feel-good' scenario, but i still think it's very funny that a guy like that choses to be a dick and not learn something instead of enganging in a normal discussion when he has the chance :D
