I'm having a trouble with the old new control warrior deck - ya, that one with Justicar, Varian, Ysera, Alex, Dr. Boom, Thaurissan, etc. I do lose a lot for other decks, but at least I can figure out a way to play against them effectively.
Doesn't matter the deck I am running, I always get overwhelmed by this one. Weapon + Shield slam + Mortal strike take care of my minions in the early to midgame. After that I have no gas to deal with the bigger threats, even after using tech cards and saving big removals for specific minions.
Once I managed to get to the last card drawn, only to lose by decking after the warrior kept using his upgraded hero power for more armor.
So, guys, how do you manage to beat this particular deck?
I've been facing the exact same problem as you, I faced 3 warriors in a row, and they were all using that exact same deck that you mentioned, and lost all 3 games as a mid range druid, the Force of Nature + Savage Roar combo was not effective enough to kill the warrior with his upgraded hero power. There probably is a good way to counter it, but for right now, I can only think of countering the deck by mirroring the deck, and playing against it in a mirror match. :P
Not sure if these new control war decks runs alexstraza, but if they do I dont think control priest is a bad matchup (provided the warrior knows how to play).
Midrange is actually made to fight against control decks. It's WHY Midrange hunter first came into the meta last year, because aggro hunter couldn't get past control warrior.
Typically, though, the game doesn't reach turn 10. Midrange does well because they can put up enough early game to require board clears, but don't suffer to them, then power up just as the control deck wants to convert into attack mode. The control deck is either bursted down past their heal/armor or under constant pressure until they run out of removal but can't put you in a spot to kill you.
I'd go Midrange Secret paladin, beast midrange hunter, or handlock. Handlock preferred, though. Just make SURE you are not just cringing at That One Warrior Match and actually are facing 50%+ control decks because midrange suffers to aggro and it's better to give up 3 warrior matches if it means winning the next 7 aggro ones.
Any paladin has an easy time vs a cw. You could also try priest. Keep in mind that the warrior has a lot of removal utility. With that in mind try to force your opponent into situations where he needs to use his removal for tempo. When removal is gone you slam down your big creatures before he does.
Greetings, people

Feel free to add/follow me! I'm open to conversations about the game and anything in general.
My favorite card - Warsong Commander Kappa
If they draw justicar and their weapons, you are toast.
Try Handlock
I've yet to face a deck running mortal strike, or seen one on hearthpwn. But yeah, Varian is pretty bad. Play control priest, always easy win for me.
I have my doubts if that is a good idea.
If I let them, by turn 10 I am already dead.
Decklist?
Varian is bad, but I can play around it. The issue is that the deck can still put pressure even after Varian
Since I dont know the deck I can only guess it, if you share the decklist maybe I and others can help you further :)
I would say midrange hunter or combo druid is your best bet, both should be favoured. Dragon priest should be OK also.
You need to put them under big pressure without overextending around turn 7.

The deck is more or less like this, with some small changes like running 1 Brawl instead of 2 and Bash with or instead Shield Block.
It can also packs Deathwing, Thaurissan, Sylvanas and/or Alextrasza
Mysterious Challenger beats warrior.
You guys seem to forget that varian doesnt actually see play in serious cw lists anymore. The card is just not good enough.

One does not simply walk into Mordor,
unless they want to be the best they can be.

I often play either normal CW or Inspire CW. With both, I have a hard time against totem shaman and Mysterious Pally.
