I thought that even before GvG priest was very strong in the control vs control matchup. Now I feel it has just gotten ridiculous, before you could at least rely on your 4 attack minions to give them some trouble, now they can just steal those guys too? Theoretically they have up to 7 mindcontrols in their deck 2x cabal + schrink dude, 2x shadow madness + recombobulator, 2 actual Mincontrols and sylvanas + death. So again, theoretically, if you where trading 1 for 1 you would have to spend another 7 cards to kill the stuff they just stole, basically you just lost half your deck. Now add things like thoughtsteal giving them even more card advantage or auchenai + circle combo as basically the best aoe clear in the game and it becomes alsmost impossible to beat them ...
of course I am aware that they will never actually run 7 mindcontrols, but even if they just steal 1 or 2 of you guys and you don't have an imidient perfect answer you just loose. So what do you do? you can't just run 5+ attack minions ... do you just try to zerg them down and hope they have no auchenei + circle? To be clear I am only talking about control vs control here. Also I am not hating on Priest, as soon as I have the dust I would like to try that deck myself. For the mean time I just need some advice on how to best deal with them.
If you are still playing Control decks in GvG and relying on legendary uses for winning games, then you are most likely a pansy and need to go back to elementary school and start your life over, and this time when you get bullied stand up for yourself and don't play like a faggot in video games you pansy fucking wallet warrior.

wow, looks like someone overdosed on the salt there. Reynad is that you? haha
but before you get even more butthurt fyi I was not playing warrior. I was playing mage, I am free to play and I was using exactly 2 legendaries in my deck.

Someone has a really low win rate against control decks. Wow...
Anyway...
Priest has definitely gotten more annoying than it was, and they can easily back you into a corner where you are forced to play into their 'mind control' mechanic. It's a very frustrating feeling for sure. Priest has certainly become the strongest all around class in my opinion. Only hard counter in my opinion is handlock, and that match up has gotten a bit more favorable with GvG.

As someone who plays mostly midrange-control Mage, Paladin and Druid; I fear the Priest match-up the most. In theory they pose the biggest threat. But in practice they aren't as hard as you might think. They are very combo-reliant, and if they don't draw the right cards they can't do anything but sit there with their big hands. It's just a very passive deck.
That from a Paladin player?
They basically get almost every 3rd Game your Tirion, with their Thoughtsteal.
They steal the shit out of your Sunwalkers, your Sludgebelchers and if you want to play Ysera. They don't even care to even steal her. And just emote "Thank you" everytime you try to get out something on the board. Here is a little summary for those of you, who never played Paladin:
Control Priest vs. Control Paladin basically goes like this:
Early:
They play Northshire Cleric and Trade the SHIT out of you. If you use your passive, they use it against you. Healing that bitch and gaining more Cards. the only way to avoid this is to SACRIFICE on of your precious Equality or you have the luck to get a Truesilver to end this ridiculousness. If they are really fucked up they just add Power Word: Shield to her and then even the Truesilver doesn't is useful anymore.
Mid:
-Sludgebelcher (getting destroyed or used against you, or silenced)
-Sunwalker (getting used against you, using one of your little guys to take off the shield and then holy fire it. Silence + Holy Fire.)
Late:
Ysera, Cairne, Tirion, Sylvanas one of those cards you have in your deck. Its theirs. If you are pretty unlucky the Priest runs 2x Mindcontrol and there goes you 2nd precious Deck.
The main issue here is not the Priest design. It is totally correct. Its the Paladin design.
(Removals = only the valuable ones AND ONLY CLASS CARDS)
Hunter: Kill Command, Unleash the Hounds + Wolf, Hunters Mark (counts as 100% removal for me), Weapons, Explosive Trap, Freezing Trap (somehow 100% removal, since they play so fast and aggressive, that you barely can use that card again)
Warrior: Execute (100% removal), crazy amount of value Weapons, Brawl (90% removal), Shield Slam (since GvG this is a 100% removal as well. Since you can add armor to your warrior without any issues)
Druid: Swipe, Wrath, Force of Nature
Rogue: Alot of cheap spells, with combopotential to high damage. Weapons + buffs. Blade flurry, Fan of knifes, Sap
Warlock: Siphon Soul (100% removal), Alot of single target spells
Shaman: Hex (100% removal), alot of spells (some with overload), a strong weapon that can be buffed.
Priest: Mindcontrol (100% removal), Shadow Madness (100% removal if traded properly), Shadow Word: Pain (100% removal), Shadow word: Death (100% removal), Auchenai + Circle (100% Boardwipe), Holy Fire, Cabal Shadow Priest (100% removal) [Madness, Pain, Death and Shadow Priest are only 100% removal if used on properly minions, but still its an removal)
Now to our beloved Paladins = Equality + Consecration (100% Boardwipe), mid-cost mediocre spells, high cost spells that are too slow, Truesilver, Ashrbinger (which can be played around EASILY [Silence, Hex, Sheep, Ooze, Harrison, even Blingtron]
You play either Handlock or Control Warrior and reck them with like 80% win rate.
Unfortunately, no.
Before G&G, Handlock vs Priest was in Handlock's favor. I would say 70% win rate for Handlock. However, with Lightbomb and Shrinkmeister being introduced in G&G, Priest vs Handlock is slightly Priest favored especially if Priest is really patient (heal your Handlock out of Molten Giant range, use Shadow Word: Death for single Mountain Giant, Lightbomb for multiple. If Handlock got Twilight Drake in early game, and Priest doesn't play or have Silence, Priest may still in trouble. But if Twilight Drake came out in late-game, Priest can even steal it with Shrinkmeister and Cabal Shadow Priest(or you can steal Sludge Belcher). Only decisive advantage Handlock still has against Priest is Lord Jaraxxus, but if Priest is willing to take the game to fatigue, even that is not a problem.
For control Warrior, well, control Warrior has never been favored agains control Priest. Never. Not in vanilla. Not in Naxx. Not in G&G. So I don't what are you talking about.
one difference between ctrl priest and ctrl warrior is the ease of access to the cards.
granted that the new gvg priest decks added a few more legendaries, they are even more annoying than ever.
imo warriors overwhelm you by their board presence/ toughness. priest says, woops, that's mine. that, too. yep, that as well. oh no a scary legendary, yep, mine.
suffice to say, i hate priests more than warriors xD
Nah. Warlock. Inherent card advantage, actual sweeper, jarax. Things just haven't come together perfectly. We probably will never have good control decks in this game though. Blizzard thinks spells aren't "fun" but think dying on turn 5 is a blast!
Warrior vs priest is a match up based on how well the warrior gets ahead. If the warrior does to like 50 health due to armor then its gonna be in his favor.
If you are a control warrior and have trouble with priest, try gorehowl. Priest nightmare :p
The Priest can rarely put enough pressure on a Warrior to get his health down, especially now with Shieldmaiden. The Warrior also has more than enough removal/weapons to get rid of any threats. Also Warrior has burst in the form of Grommash/Gorehowl even the new Warrior Legendary that isn't something a Priest can play around. This is why I believe Warrior is the king of Control.

Aren't priests actually favored against control warriors (or at least it's close).
Imagine priest vs priest and they both thoughtstealed 4 mind controls from each other.
what's yours is mine and what's mine is yours, LOL.

Priest is pretty ridiculous, but not worse than warrior, though he requires many legendaries.

control warriors crush control priests
it bothered my soul for a very long time :P
