You think that there aren't many because of meta (not many hyper aggro), because there aren't incentives to play monocopy beside Reno himself or because there are better healing options nowadays?
I am playing a bit of Reno Pally on Legend rank, and while I have to admit that Reno proved useful only a couple of times, the deck seems good
When Reno came out, your opponent would get you very low till turn 6, you'd play Reno and they would be out of stuff, so you'd win. Now, you Reno and your opponent still has options to finish you.
I think it's partly because Reno's very out dated in the sense that aggro players have 'more options' to take the game back after you swing the game your way with a full heal. Back when he came out players couldn't do that. Now the pressure from aggro archetypes is so great the healing doesn't matter.
Also it probably really is in part because Reno's the only highlander card they brought over. If they wanted the highlander archetype to be more viable then they needed to bring at least a couple more over. I'm not saying both were necessary at the same time, but EITHER Zephyrus or Alextsraza were very much needed to give highlander the boost they need. Otherwise they probably don't have a real win condition as is. Unpopular opinion I know because this community loves to give Zephy a lot of hate but the other highlanders really made those decks. Not Reno.
And until "charge" goes away as a keyword forever, standard highlander decks are simply gonna struggle. Plain and simple.

Probably a little of both of those and the ability of some classes to burst 20+ damage in a turn. The current aggro decks seek to close out the game before turn 6, and that means that without a good pool of single one-off answers, you'll have to run some duplicates. If you are a control deck in this meta, it just makes more sense to run a straight control deck that seeks to shut down your opponent's aggro in the early game and stabilize for the end-game. There are a lot of stabilization tools for gaining health/armor that make Reno a sub-optimal play most turns. In control warrior you can play Frozen Buckler and Shield Shatter to gain life and clear a board for 2 mana, that leaves 4 for another minion - that's a much better turn 6 board swing than healing +15 or whatever, leaving a board un-dealt with and having a 4/6 minion the opponent can sidestep. There's almost always a better play than Reno, sometimes, and if that is the case it's better to stuff your deck with good cards and just win with good cards. Don't get me wrong, it's awesome when he does flip that moment, or if you Brann+Zola him and keep him coming a few times - makes for some fun games - but as it stands right now, the card pool will need to get bigger to supplement the singletons with a wider variety of "good enough" answers to make running a Reno deck viable. Right now, there are just too many better plays.

1. The card pool is small right now after the rotation, making it hard to build a high quality deck. A lot of decks can't find enough AoE right now for example.
2. When he was released it was rare for non-OTK decks to deal more than 10-15 damage in a turn and aggressive decks ran out of cards in hand very quickly. Nowadays a lot of decks will casually burst you for 20-30+ damage, and aggressive decks don't run out of cards until they've drawn most of their deck. In other words Reno's effect is simply less valuable in the current game.
3. It's much harder to find synergies and win-conditions when you're limited to 1 copy per card. Shaman for example can't run the freeze package, Mage can't run the hero power package, you can't run most tribes, etc. Your win condition has to be either straight up value from individually strong cards, which is not viable in present day Hearthstone, or it has to be based on single copies of cards, something which is not available in all classes.
Since a lot of these factors probably aren't changing any time soon, I think there needs to be some Kazakus style cards printed to make the strategy viable.

I'm thinking the next set or two will most likely get a hand full of new highlander cards. Possibly even in Sunken City's mini-set. I doubt Blizz would bring Reno back without a plan. Maybe the Sunken City mini-set will be some crazy mini story were the League has the explore it to get some artifact or treasure. Who knows?
Either way Reno simply feels too naked on his own. Without other highlander cards to support him he's too isolated to get value.
The problem is that control has no support and aggro and quest decks have infinite value. No point healing for 30 if next turn they still have a full board and full hand. It's not like the past that decks ran out of steam. Now they have infinite draw and quest reward value and mana cheating.
Quest decks outside of Hunter are completely unplayable right now and Control Warrior is the current meta 'tyrant' and deck to beat, with Control Paladin being another one of the fairly good decks right now, so what exactly are you talking about?

I probably faced a Reno warrior only.

I think it's mainly because of the second point. There are just no other cards to encourage building a highlander deck. Reno by himself is not enough.
When Reno came out, your opponent would get you very low till turn 6, you'd play Reno and they would be out of stuff, so you'd win. Now, you Reno and your opponent still has options to finish you.
are you referring to Standard specifically? Plenty of highlander decks out there in Wild
Nobody has 29 good cards to put in a deck yet. By the end of the year, I expect more Reno decks

Right after rotation card pool is the smallest and this is the worst time for Reno.
losing consistency for, at best, 29 health is not good anymore.
This.
Yes, as more sets are released, and control gets more and more ways to deal with aggro, Reno will flourish
There are a number of reasons all contributing.
1. The card pool is small right now after the rotation, making it hard to build a high quality deck. A lot of decks can't find enough AoE right now for example.

Sucks. Bring control back
