Casual idgaf, you can spam emotes all you like at me, it just adds to the clown fiesta.
Ranked I squelch most of the time, though I will return a Greetings if they get one through in time, and if I haven't squelched, I will return a Well Played at the end. I find emotes distracting; they break my concentration and cause me to make mistakes.
I pretty much never emote during the game, one exception is I say 'Well Played' after e.g. they play MCT into 7 of my minions and get the best one, or use Brawl and their only minion is the one that survives. Can't really resist.
You are wrong about type-1.my opponents usualy dont have "winning hand" bcz at that point they have 0 cards in it.so they just play 1 card at a time in hopes to win and i sit there with 2 amaras in hand and hope they concede but they never concede.and i emote hard ofc bcz it is the point of the game for me to frustrate this guys, after 4 years i dont even care for the win
I only squelch someone if they are spamming emotes, which is maybe 1 in 30 games or so. I don't mind the interaction most of the time. I rarely emote myself unless it is to respond to their greetings/well played or if they are playing something really off meta I'll give them a "Wow".
I’m pretty sure everyone auto squelches when they face Anduin or Nemsy.
I would never squelch someone playing with Nemsy, I love her emotes :), but sadly I don't have her. :( I can't understand why some people don't like her, she is awesome! :D
personnaly i like nemsy because warlock is my favorite class , but anduin and his "wow" emote is disgusting
I only found out I could actually mute the opponent last year. I have yet to use it yet, but if I do get someone who is being annoying I will.
I always greet the player also.. I also compliment them if they are doing well with "well done" and "wow" emotes... I do try to not do it too much though as this could in turn annoy the other player.
I don't auto-squelch in at the start of games, but there are instances where I may do it later.
For example decks that are often piloted by emote spammers I will then decide to squelch if they are likely to win (e.g. Kingsbane Rogues, almost all aggro players, and Control Priests).
Nothing that any person in the real world can say has any effect on my mentality or well-being, that being said 6 generalized emotes definitely isn’t reason to need to take the time to stop them.
Depends on the mood really.... sometimes when someone BM's me too much I add them and ask if they are having a bad day? One guy added me back and his response was, I really hate your deck. That was a reasonable justification for him to BM I guess. I was playing shudderwock shaman. But if I am titled then I do squelch them.
I wish there was a auto-squelch option in the game. There should be one in fact and the reason the devs don't want to give one literally was "it would confuse players when they click the options menu".
I don't care if you don't squelch at all. I do squelch and there all a lot of other people who do even tho it's not the majory. Giving the option would be what any competent dev would do. But then again, we're talking about Team 5 here.

I agree, hehe, although I never squelch my opponents, even if they are using Anduin. :P
Whenever I win and land a killing blow (or you concede before I can smack you in the face), you will most likely receive a "Bow to your queen!" or "I will be your death!". Why? Because I'm role-playing baby. I WILL CRUSH YOU!
I didn't use to squelch but right now what I do is greeting back and then squelching, too many bad opponents. And I also hardly ever accept friend requests (almost 100% of the time is someone cursing or teasing for winning against me).
I have been auto-squelching for a few years now...mostly because of juvenile's who feel the need to taunt you right before they win.
The best way to get even with an immature, arrogant, juvenile-minded player who feels the urge to rub your nose in their good luck is to silence them before they get the chance to gloat. Unfortunately, the decent players get squelched too, but it has to be done.
I do not auto-Squelch, perhaps because I'm still naive enough to think I'll have a positive interaction with another player lel. Been playing since Vanilla, so the naivety has been goin' strong.
For whatever dumb-fuck reason though, I don't think to Squelch assholes who spam emotes like the "Wow" or "Greetings" sarcastically. Those unsportsmanlike, poor winner-types; I still to this day let them get to me :/

I am a finalist in this Class Creation Competition, so if you could give it a look I would be greatly appreciative <3
because most people are rude. They will rope and emote when they have lethal. They play extra cards they dont need for the win. Auto is best and move on.

After years of playing, I’ve finally decided to auto- squelch every game. I say greetings, and squelch.
Since then I’ve noticed a big drop in my own tendency to tilt or make hasty plays.
"Everyone! Get in here!"

I always auto squelch, because it throws off my train of thought when planning my moves.
Hearthstone is not a social game. Its just multiplayer.
There is no benefit to allowing emotes, only potential annoyance. A best case scenario is am opponent doing nothing .
I auto squelch 100% of the time

Against mage, yes.
