Basically the title, did the expansion make the game as a whole better or did it worsen things? Obviously it's very soon to be asking this but I'm still interested in how people are experiencing things so far.
E.G:
"The game has been improved bc matches are now less about rushing and far more about interaction and careful decision making, not to mention you no longer lose solely because your foe rushed sooner."
OR
"The game is worse bc with the advent of control decks any form of aggro is now obsolete, not to mention that control decks tend to be more expensive and ruin the f2p experience."
Keep it civil (obviously) and don't forget that it's all entirely subjective, so tear you hear out :)
Much better. Rarely am I in a situation where I'm facing lethal by turn 4 or 5. I did face an Aggro Murloc Paladin where this was the case though, but I drew very poorly and had no answers.

Life before death. Strength before weakness. Journey before destination.
Currently it is better, but the first weeks after an expansion releases are often the best. People are trying out different things, so there is much more variation on the ladder.
There is less aggro at the moment (except Pirate Warriors, who just won't quit) but I'm not sure whether that's because of the power level or because people just playing more interesting decks first. What new cards would have weakened aggro? I guess Defile and Spirit Lash, but those are class-specific.
Yes. It is a lot better now but there is one thing that is getting worse: Jade. Thx for giving them also good anti aggro tools. This lame deck needs to die...

"... but not less than (1)" is needed now more than ever!
Much, much worse. I'm a control player, but the state of the game has become almost unbearable. There are basically just 4 classes past rank 5; Druid, Priest, Warrior and Paladin.
Rogue and hunter are completely DEAD, have not seen a single legit deck at this rank, and shaman, mage and warlock see so little play it's hard to even grasp their stand in the meta.
If this is the state of the game at an expansion launch, where the ladder is supposed to be unpredictable and diverse, i'm getting worried about how the game will be 2 weeks from now.
I don't like seeing cards being nerfed, but I feel Ultimate Infestation is opressing deck variation way too hard, something has to be done asap.
I like the cards - honestly they're pretty cool. But shit feels more lopsided than ever before and my friends list numbers have diminished greatly this week. I worry Blizzard would have trouble balancing a cube on its side at this point
The game is fluid so it is continuously changing and growing. this could mean it is always getting better, at least in some sense.
And with this expansion including some cards that will always be considered significant all-time type cards, the game got better.
But by "the game" I mean Hearthstone. I do not mean the meta. Even though Hearthstone overall got better because it is growing and still coming up with creative ideas overall, plenty of people understand that the meta overall took a step back from Un'goro. Possibly a huge step backwards. That's for everyone and their opinion, which is fine.
The advantage of distinguishing "the game" from the meta is that it tends be more optimistic.
It's strange to me that nobody notices one thing: Un'Goro meta that we played due 4 months continues and it's not going to change even a little bit. Yes, at low ranks people test zombeasts and have fun with Benedict Priest etc, but look at the current tournaments - it's decks, look at the decks at ranks 10+! Murloc Paladin, Jade Druid, Pirate Warrior, Token Druid, Token Shaman, Miracle Rogue, Burn Mage - all old archetypes and the only new is taunt Druid and maybe control kazakus priest got it's good spot. We got absolutely new expansion, hello., it's not Un'Goro anymore. It's absolutely disgusting, cuz we were done with this shit in last month of Un'Goro already. We were waiting for new expansions cuz we are getting bored with same decks. But no, dudes, just eat it again and again for more 4 months. Did this expansion create something new? Taunt druid? Handlock is now stronger than before? Maybe. But compare all of this with impact of previous expansions that created a bunch of archetypes with new key cards for them. This expansion bring us countless amount of unserious cards and DK-cards didnt create archetypes. Nobody notices it yet cuz it's too early to complain, but guys i forecast HUGE dissatisfaction of community after 1-2 months of Knights of the Frozen Throne.
It's currently worse, but I have no doubt Blizzard will nerf Druid in some respect (we probably gotta wait at least 2 months though).
Until then I'll be playing Wild, where there is a lot less Jade and a hell of a lot more Reno/Priest and Warlocks, you still get a lot of Aggro Shaman and Pirate Warrior there, but honestly I'm fine with that.
As far as non-meta "fun" cards etc. I have really enjoyed toying around with all the Death Knights, I think Warrior got the weakest cards though and honestly pre-Frozen Throne N'zoth Warrior is still their best Control deck. Kinda disappointed with the whole Freeze Shaman concept, I expect it will get some support though in the next expansion. Some of the neutrals have been pretty impressive too, Skelemancer, Bonemare and Cobalt Scalebane all being strong additions to various Midrange decks.
The new Jade Druid list is the first deck to legitimately make me not enjoy the game when I'm playing against it. I've put up with all of the big decks people complained about (Secret Pally, Patron Warrior, Pirate Warrior etc) without complaining, and the new Jade Druid is the first time I've truly felt hopeless.
It feels like even with the perfect highroll draw against an average draw from Jade Druid, playing as aggressively as humanly possible, there's just no way to finish them before the inevitable snowball.
Don't get me wrong - I appreciate that the meta has slowed down and I'm having a ton of fun on the odd occasions I'm not playing one of the two ridiculous druid decks. It's just too frustrating playing against a deck that feels like an auto-lose against a wide variety of decks out there with no counterplay. I know that there are decks that beat the deck, but they're few and far between, don't interest me, and underperform against a lot of other decks. We've never had a deck quite so punishing to quite so many decks before, in my opinion.
Agreed Jade Druid didn't need Spreading Plague and Ultimate Infestation. It would have dominated this controlish meta without those.
At higher ranks it's more aggro, and the Spreading Plague is wrecking them, which means there's more of them around to wreck control decks. In other words, they're beating everything.
i like this a lot better and yes i ahve complained about Jade, and yes i liked th un'goro meta but objectively, while diverse it also had a lot of aggro and turn 4 lethals, KFT might have less viable classes than un'gorro, as expected, the first expansion of the year will always be the more diverse and as the year progresses te power gap between classes starts growing, compare wotg to gadgetzan and expect the december expansion to be a 2 class/2 archetypes (ala Reno vs patches), but there are a lot less turn 4 lethals, i get to play my cards in more matches and manage to get my deck working.
So I am super enjoying KFT, I would not say the game is better, but a lot of fun archetypes got a whole lot better. Rogue is really fun and powerful, the dk hero for rogue is really powerful, I have had games where I played 20 servants of kalimos using the rogue hero power and the fact that servant of kalimos often pulls itself. In wild rogue can destroy aggro decks with mill, because rogue has so many ways to clear board and survive in wild. Basically just a lot of crazy stuff can happen that makes the game fun, and I will have a lot of material to play with, more than in un'goro probably.
It's definitely better. There's a lot of variety and new strategies to play with. A lot of people have issues with druids right now but I really just think it's a matter of time before people find an answer.
I like the cards - honestly they're pretty cool. But shit feels more lopsided than ever before and my friends list numbers have diminished greatly this week. I worry Blizzard would have trouble balancing a cube on its side at this point
Truth.
I'm not playing anymore along with my best friend and many in my friends list, we've moved onto other games.
This is the first expansion that I regret pre-purchasing.
Long time HS player, golden heroes every class except priest.
We got lots of cool new control cards with the new expansion...and they all got completely shit on by jade druid, which they (perhaps unintentionally) buffed up the ass. So it should have improved the game, and still would if they'd nerf in decent time rather than waiting months to analyze the perfectly obvious...
Not as good as ungoro buts it's not bad. The game is clearly significantly less balanced than the previous expansion was, but ungoro was really good in that aspect so maybe it's not a fair comparison.

Why u hav to be mad? is only card gaem.

Just fill your deck with one drops, that is creative deck design, right?

As I said a trillion times, this game will not get better. It will only get worse.
Unless they redesign it totally, which I think needs to be done quickly.
Charge needs to be removed. Jade needs to be nerfed or just completely shut down, jades are not good for the game.
Cards not only need to be nerfed, but also buffed. There are tons of cards that are cool but never see play.
Not as good as ungoro buts it's not bad. The game is clearly significantly less balanced than the previous expansion was, but ungoro was really good in that aspect so maybe it's not a fair comparison.
