Blizzard used to announce 1 or 2 cards each day between the initial expansion announcement and the final stream. For me (and I guess that also for many others, let's see what the poll results are), it was the chance to get everyday's piece of hype and theorycraft, trying to infer the strategies and meta decks, etc.
Now, however, we get 5 cards announced (including 2 Arena-type-fillers) and a brand new mechanic, followed by plain nothing-at-all for at least 2 weeks. Ben Brode and his team seem to think it is better this way, although I don't see any open poll / question asked to the community, hence this thread.
i think ungoro was the same .. we stayed for 2 weeks hyped ,, and then the card reveal marathon began .. i liked how i open heartpwn more than 3 times a day to check for new cards ,,
but that wont happen until the 23th or the 24th of july i dunno exactly ,, after the first card reveal .. the marathon will begin
Well... Right now I'd certainly say I would like if they dripped them out over a long period of time... But I have to admit, when they do start dropping them and we're getting many cards per day... I'm going to be pretty hyped then. And given how well Ungro seemed to have gone, I can't blame them for doing it like that again.
I don't like this no cards for a whole month strategy, but I also disliked the one card-a-day strategy.
I think we need a middle ground, where they reveal like few cards on the first announcment and then let's say 8-14 cards each week until we have 1/2 of all cards revealed and then the rest half of cards on the big reveal, the one we are waiting for now.

That's a good idea.
I guess they shouldn't have announced any cards at all to prevent the void of these 2 weeks.
The new mechanic isn't that innovative so I'm not looking forward to it like I was for Un'Goro. But at the same time, TGT did the dribble reveal and I wasn't that impressed, perhaps because it was a pretty bad expansion with poor power level cards. If KFT manages to have good cards along with the Hero Cards, I'd be fine with it, and I could wait until July 24th. If the cards aren't unique and merely fill gaps in the current card collection (or are renditions of wild cards to be included in standard...) I'm out. The cards that have been revealed so far are pretty meh, except for Rexxar, but if there are only 8 more of those it's going to be a bit depressing.
Im one of these few, that likes the the new way of reveals. The one card a day reveal was so disappointing, when it was just a crap card from a class you dont realy play and killed/slowed the hype. The perfect way of reveals would be a 2 weeks later announcement of the new addon followed by daily around 4 or 5 cards for two weeks till release and final reveal. But this way the f2p players would cry even louder, because they have less time to grind gold instead...
So im fine with the midway of an early announcement and a late reveal start.

3 arena tickets also it will be buffed with a free win + free legendary from the free adventure + double gold and yet some cry because they receive only 80g not 120 .. i have 2 unfinished quests 100g and 120g .. in addition there wont be a dub legendary anymore
this game started to help F2P players .. let see there reaction ,,
You can make these threads as often as you like guys, it won't make it come any faster. Look, annoucing the cards early gives us a heads up to save our gold or money to preorder. That is a huge benefit of the current method of doing it. As for the wait, people do get burnt out on the new expansion before all the cards are revealed, whether it is streamer reviews (lul) or just the cards feeling like old news by the time it actually releases, there is no benefit to the drip feed.
And the fact that you guys make this same thread everyday proves that it hasn't killed the hype at all. If anything, you are dying to play it. Mission accomplished.
As much as I'd like to know about the cards now, the expansion does feel old by the time it is realized if the reveals happen to soon. I think 2 weeks before the expansion is released would be a good time for reveals. It's enough to build hype without making it feel stale.
Why not wait? Remember before the Internet? I know...I know, but there was a time as a MtG player that we knew nothing of what was coming out. We just had to go out and buy the cards.
Relax people. Have some patience. Jeez....
Well this was true to a point, there was spoilers in magazines, but unless you were buying Inquests, Wizards Magazine, or Duelist, you would show up without seeing anything other than word of mouth. Thought have to agree, nothing like opening up something like Kyscue Drake during a Visions PreRelease and running around the venue trying to see what Spitting Drake was or more importantly what Viashivan Dragon was/did.
I would't care normally, but the usual card dumb at the end makes me think it could be done better. Instead two weeks silence they could release like another five cards. For me the hype starts tomorrow. They could just have waited. For me the tickets for the hypetrain were sold 2 weeks ago. Even though the departure is tomorrow.
Its fine how it is. But the silence is just very irritating when we know that there is going to be a card dump. That could be done better.

I'm sorry, but what did I miss? What happens tomorrow that starts the hype?

Imagine If they released a new card each day, then streamers and youtubers and HearthPwn would have content to talk about. And each day you come to HearthPwn there is a new card to discuss.

Hype does not feed on itself, and initial reveal was utterly poor to start some theorycrafting.
Prefer the old way but blizzard seems to disagree about it.. would like to open hpwn each day for a new card but MEH
