Handlock with double shadowflame. After that you just taunt and Mountain Giant. One big board clear and they usually wont have enough card draw to get more than 1 or 2 5/5s a turn
"New cancer..." blah blah " "Dead by turn 5..." blah blah " Faced 27 so far, all lost"
I really don't know what decks are you playing but quest rogue can be beaten so easilly I barely belive you. You have to play some greedy late game decks or "draw whole deck 5 cards combo" or something, I don't know. Quest rogues are easy wins for me. I didn't lose a single game to them. They are Jades Druids of this expansion. First days everyone complains and want nerfs, after time countered hardly, rarely seen anywhere.
And every player is playing caverns rogue. Like yeah I get its a good deck, but 8 matches in a row of it??? Isn't a rotation supposed to spark innovation, not cancer?
I ask myself this question every expansion. But most people just want to win with an unoriginal google deck.
It's really impressive haha people dont realize how much they make the game totally uninteresting. It's sad because hearthstone is originally a fun game but in reality the part of fun is totally ridiculous. 99% of players are interested not in the game itself but by the fact of win, and people who say the contrary should cogitate a little more. It's a good sociological phenomenon, by the way. It's time to grow up friends it's time to grow up
Certain decks are good against other decks and bad against others. If you are going up against quest rogue 27 times and losing every single time, you either have a trash deck or just need to adjust to the meta. Mid-range hunter and discolock are good decks against rogue if you like faster decks. Just build up your board while the rogue wastes time completing the quest, keep it clear and then hit face. If you want a slower deck, go with handlock or taunt warrior. Same as before, keep board clear of minions before the quest can be played, throw down some big taunts until they run out of cards, and keep hitting face until they die. Quest Rogue isn't some horrible, unbeatable monstrosity, your deck is probably just weak against it.
Quest Warrior works wonders against them so far, not a huge sample but have 9-1 win ratio against them.
They just can't do much against taunt walls and board clears. Also Dirty Rat counters them so hard that you should auto include 2 of them in your deck if you encountering too many Quest Rogues.
Agree though that it's a problematic deck to play against, you can't do much and the games will end at turn 6 most of the time. Give the meta it 1-2 weeks to settle before raging on forums though.
quest rogue has a less positive when rate than midrange hunter. it is a very powerful deck, but nowhere near as powerful as everyone seems to believe it is.
I'm currently playing Nu-Jade Druid and I have rekt every Rogue I've come across. And there haven't been many.
I've seen a bunch of quest Hunter, who are also easy. Quest Freeze mage, which is obnoxious. Couple of Taunt Wars, which is a pretty even match, I enjoy those. The only things I really lost to were Shaman and Mage, and one Pally who topdecked perfectly the whole game.

Yeah dude, I can agree with you and everybody else, that says the meta will settle down in a week or two. But the problem for me (and for the people that rage in the forums :D) is that, people knew about the strong deck even at the start of the expansion. This was the case for me, because I play in the EU server, where there was a card opening delay. I logged in yesterday morning (didn't want to wait until 3 am) and I faced a bunch of those decks. I mean - it didn't even take long before people realized, which deck shows a great potential. It happened way too fast, so fast, that i didn't even see the other quests. Day 1. Imo that's just not normal. I know what you will say - people would have come up with this eventually and this would happen even sooner, because the quest mechanic is shown right in front of our eyes. But nevertheless I think, I think... *sign* that's why net-decking is bad and not that healthy for the game.
*Edit: I just love, when people advise us to stop using "greedy" decks and start playing the aggro ones, in order to counter it. Yup, because that's was out goal from the start. We really lacked on aggro/tempo decks and the community really wanted to see more of it. Note - My post turned into a subjective, emotional one, but it had to be said. Note 2 - There are some people, who enjoy playing this type of decks - and that's ok. I just think, that the rest of us wouldn't like to be forced to play a deck, that doesn't bring joy to them and that doesn't reflect their play style.

net decking is what bad players call the metagame. People want to determine the best strategies. If you find that someone has done well with a strat that you are considering then it makes sense to start from their proven list. Read up on game theory or even just a few MTG articles. Hell, in MTG the level 0 meta is often figured out before the set even releases. It's the way the genre has worked since the 90's.
I agree with your intent. But the problem people are facing is that Rouge has no board often they can do their quest by turn 5 no matter what you do. then they play charge minions and you die turn 6 or 7. Taunt Warrior beats it a couple of other decks. But most stuff just loses and loses quickly with people not being able to do anything about it. Which is leaving a sour taste in mouths.

I never considered myself to be a pro or something. Didn't played card games like MTG or Yu-Gi-Oh in the past to know about competitiveness or something like that.
No, i play casually like everybody else. But that's the point i want to make - It doesn't seem fun facing the same decks, especially when we had this problem last season. People got fed up with that and are even more annoyed, because this happened hours after the release. Please, don't take my comment as a childish one, I'm going to mention some things: - i play hs since last year and i know that strong decks will show and will dominate among others - i also understand, that that's not something new to rage about - but please, do understand why are we complaining, When WotoG came, the first days were all about experimenting. I can't remember that a certain deck was popping up every one or two games. People wanted to play C'thun, because this was a new mechanic, and wanted to try the other gods as well. After a couple of days strong decks were refined and the meta settled down and everything worked on track. Now, i know that the meta hasn't settled down yet, we will expect more strong decks to come. But like i said, it wasn't a pleasant surprise for most of us, when even on the first day we saw rogue decks flooding the ladder, just because people saw it from a famous streamer or from this site, without coming up with that deck on their own*. And how can you test your druid/warlock quest deck, when you will die in 5-6 turns? You get a legendary from a pack, you feel excited to try it out, but soon find out, that you will get nowhere with it. Yup, so much exciting. If you don't feel convinced, read some comments in the threads, you will see, that I'm not the only one making up these complains.
Dude, I understand how you are repeating: "Hell, in MTG the level 0 meta is often figured out before the set even releases. It's the way the genre has worked since the 90's.", but keep in mind, that hs was made to be enjoyed by all. For people with game card experience and for those, who say "Aw, what the heck. Let's try this". That's why it's not as complicated as MTG, so it would be accessible for all.
Tl;dr: Maybe I have absolutely no idea how a card game works, but i want to have fun playing it. After all that's the point of a game, isn't it?
*Note - i know, that some people realized the potential of the rogue quest on their own. I don't want to offend them. Note 2- The quests are really not well designed - in terms of task vs. reward some aren't fair.

I think you are missing the point. Yes you can beat Quest Rogue either by going full agro or taunt wall, but only a few classes can do this regularly, and even among those the archetypes are limited by QR to the types that can beat QR. It's severely hampering the meta as a result. My last game as QR, I had four 5/5 chargers and a weapon on turn four. That's obviously broken.

Tech in a dirty rat or two, you'll probably win the game
I actually like the new decks of the meta. Just wished there was more of a variety of decks in the meta. I think because the rogue quest deck is so cheap everyone's playing it. Maybe some famous streamers can play elemental paladin or priest with success. Been playing aggro mage and have been crushing people. Can't wait to try more decks just haven't had the time
I've been having more and more success against this deck, all thanks to Dirty Rat. The moment they bounce a card I play it, and about 75% of the time I get the card they are trying to combo with. Sometimes they concede, sometimes they have more combo pieces in hand anyway and still trigger the quest conditions, but so far it is the best counter that works consistently for me.

I'm not missing the point, I'm just explaining how metas work. One deck seems very good, it is played a lot, very frequently and players win with it. Because of this, other players figure out decks that do well against it (ie the ones I mentioned) or tech cards that can hard counter it (dirty rat) and end up playing them. As a result, the deck becomes less popular, these new decks become the most popular and then people need to figure out counters to it (I believe quest mage does really well against some of these). It is never going to be possible to make it so that every single deck has a near equal chance of winning against nearly every single other deck. That is a completely impossible vision of balance.
Issues only arise when you have decks that don't really have counters and can crush everything else in the meta most of the time (ie Jade and PW in the last meta). As long as there are good counters to QR, it will eventually cycle out of favor once all the rogues get bored of losing every one of their matches as people start to counter them. Having decks with weaknesses and strengths is a good way (and certainly a more feasible way) to keep a meta fresh and interesting. Quest Rogue is certainly the flavor of the day for now, but it isn't an unbeatable menace and therefore not a problem.

too slow to compare it with pw or other pirate decks.
one thing is clear, Blizzard's testing team are full of dumbest people!!
couldnt agree more. people complete this quest in turn 3 these days
