Has Blizzard said anything about fixing Pirate Warrior/Shaman? I really would like to play Hearthstone again soon.
It's not broken? Many players have had great success playing Reno Mage to counter aggressive decks.
The idea to play X deck to win vs Y deck is just plain stupid and I hope it will leave Hearthstone. The rock-paper-scissor ideology of the devs is not something positive imho.
Also, teching vs specific decks I find absolute bullshit because you'll get matched vs a random class. On tournaments for example, teching is a must. But not on the ladder.

So can you address Fibonacci's strategy to play a Shaman teched, Control Warrior for the last day of January ladder to reach Number 2 legend? Because he used exactly what you said as a stupid idea and took advantage of it. That's not to say that I agree with a rock-paper-scissors game design. But many semi-pro, professionals, and high ranked players have used the strategy I just listed in order to climb extremely fast. If you would like, I will link you specific links regarding Hoej's Renolock, specifically containing tech cards that are suboptimal for the standard list but improve winrates versus Shaman, something that Zalae himself used on the second to last day of January ladder at top 100 legend. So even though you may not like it, the idea works.

But can people even play anything that's not reno or pirate without feeling bad about it?
It's pretty dependent on the meta at your rank. At early stages in the ranked season, I've successfully laddered with Control Warrior, Jade Druid, and even a netdecked Shadow Priest list made by Senfglas. JustSaiyan, a player sponsored by Tempo Storm, climbed to legend with Jade Druid in a meta full of Pirate Warrior. It's possible, but it requires a high understanding of the game in all its iterations at every stage of the ladder climb.

Teching vs the most popular decks is not bullshit.
If your opponents are 40% shaman, and a tech choice boosts your winrate vs shaman by 5% while sacrificing 2% vs other classes, it improves your overall winrate marginally.
Ben Brode said there was a patch incoming near the end of this month, We should find out what's happening specifically roughly a week before it's implemented.
I'm not sure it needs a fix. It seems to have lost some traction against aggro shaman that has better answers and more consistency. Imagine if Hunter had 1 and 2 cost weapons - Shaman does.

Blizzard track the sales rate of packs. That's what makes them money. When the sales rate of packs fall (once most people who want to buy the cancer cards have done so) they nerf the unbalanced card synergies and release new sets of broken cards to reignite sales and interest. All the stuff about monitoring the meta and listening to the community is smoke and mirrors to distract from their business cycle which is a giant con. There is no subscription model to milk income from experienced players - they must constantly give players reason to spend money by releasing must-have broken cards. We suffer Pirate until sales of the pirate expansion slow enough. They let Aggro Shaman, Secret Paladin, Huntertaker etc run for ages. It doesn't matter when they "fix" pirate synergies because as soon as they do they need to release something else for the netdeckers to play - if they don't everyone will just FreePlay to build their collection. Expect something as bad as pirates soon.
if cancer hits this expansion again, i will quit for good. Im not even playing anymore right now. Have fun smacking your faces guys whoever might win or concede by turn 5. Peace

Depends on when this new expansion hits.
I'm predicting the plan is it'll be before May and by then we have a new Meta.

Feb technically only has about 2 weeks left, we can expect to hear the announcement soon.
My guess would be maybe Small Time Buc with a weapon is only a 2/2, not a 3/2?
STB's new text will read:
When you equip a weapon, deal 10 damage to your hero and destroy this minion.
"Why, you never expected justice from a company, did you? They have neither a soul to lose nor a body to kick." -- Lady Saba Holland
I believe the answer will be "at next rotation"
RIGHT AFTER they fix Reno and Kazak

Just DO NOT spend any money on Blizzard games. That's the only way they will listen.
Great art can never be created without great suffering.
