Will they let us DE Kazakus, Raza. Solia and Krul for the full price? Because I see no point in these cards without Reno. You can't use all this nasty potions if you're dead on turn 6.
Er...
You can use them in Wild, and I think priest with Raza and Kazakus still playable in standard when Reno rotates...
Frankly I am more concerned about Brann Bronzebeard rotating out, it is a much handier tool in not just singleton decks (double Kazakus, hello), but in several other decks based on Battlecries. Reno is just a lifegain which can be replaced eventually, but Brann has a rather unique effect. I am a bit surprised no one is concerned about him, but flipping Reno Jackson.
Good; archetype-defining cards should not remain in Standard. Four more months is plenty of time to enjoy Reno until things change. And it doesn't mean highlander decks or control decks will be impossible; just like literally everything else people obsess over with the rotation, this all depends on ~130 new cards released in the spring expansion, potential added rotations, potential nerfs, and maybe even something else not on the radar. Change is always good in the CCG world.
If they nerf any classic cards like auctioneer again. I am out. Reno was bad for the game the same way alextrasa is bad for the game. Enables combo decks with very very very little downside. Aggro decks are fine but are getting out of control because of the power creep of healing in the game. No reno means less powerful and maybe nerfed aggro cards. 3 mana fiery win axe? I play rogue decks and control warrior because I like the play styles. Current state of both are driving me and others from the game. I spent close to 2k on this game and haven't spent single cent ever since explorers xpac. Blizzard needs take the power creep out of the the game and just print cards that have sinergies with other cards and decks. But if they touch auctioneer I am going to delete for sure. Good riddance to Reno
I hope they think long and hard about how a card like Reno isn't even that strong or broken.
6 mana 4/6, gain 29 life.
So basically for one mana, you get Tree of Life effect on yourself. Tree of Life, a 9 mana card.
I hope they reflect on this and think about what this means for their game in general and how they've designed it.
No one in there right mind would use tree of life in the first place. Unless yer way behind and you havent damaged yer opponent at all, why would you reset their clock too?
Goodbye Reno, and fuck your boring ass to hell. The solution for keeping the archetype is to add more cards that support the archetype, which is what they are already doing. No more 29 heal.
When Reno rotates out we'll see what cards blizzard prints in the next set to compensate this. I think a concern that players may have is that if Reno rotates out and the next set does not have any good control cards and blizzard creates more aggressive one drops such as patches and small time buccaneer then the meta may degenerate into an aggro fest. So whether people like it or not, we may just have to trust blizzard that they know what they are doing when designing the next set.
I hope that they keep making cards with the 1-of theme at the very least
They most likely will, like they did with kazakus. Just we'll see different 1-of legendaries and 1-of decks won't always be based on a full heal.
I would like to see alexstrza "nerfed" to set a players life total to 30 though, having a full heal available is nice and as is alex is a burst and not healing tool and there's a massive difference in 6 and 9 mana. (and reno decks in wild would have 2 full heals no go them.)
What's really funns is that Reno actually makes decks with very fast clocks more prevalent by killing their counterdecks so whatever...
Well nothing exists in a vacuum, but my experience is that aggro players will always tend to the quickest option, be it facehunter to aggro shaman to now pirate warrior etc.

Exactly this, Reno being removed isn't the death of anti-aggro in itself since they're going to be adding another 130-something cards when it happens; you're never going to "kill" aggro with the current ladder design, but it's certainly too early to say they'll have nothing to counter them (though Control Warrior is and still will be perfectly fine to do so, even without Justicar). We'll be able to actually assess how good/bad aggro is once we actually know what tools we'll be getting.

Last night I was watching a guy on twitch play a Reno Dragon Priest at the top 100 legend ranks. Watched him play about 5 games of which he won every game, and only one of those did he even draw Reno ... So, there is that.
Yea it's interesting. I have been playing my own Wild N'Zoth Reno Priest deck, and I would say most games I don't even draw Reno Jackson, and I have a nice WR atm. Last night, I did lose to an aggro hunter and I lost because I didn't get any answers to his board (no AOE or Pain).
I didn't get Reno against the hunter, but I do win a lot of games without Reno tho :)
Some people really need to try Wild for once, most of the time much more diverse and fun than stndard.
SMOrc hunter will rise again. SMOrc

Who really thought that this wanna gonna happen? Loatheb is my favorite card in the game to this day, and I don't play Wild, but hey that's life.

So Blizz favors aggro and combo decks again. Nothing new...
Great art can never be created without great suffering.
