This card is better than Frostwolf Warlord. 4/4 for 4 mana is okay and its very easy to make this card a 5/5. There are better 4 drop but also not terrible.
This card should have been in the game FROM THE START! Seriously though, this was long expected and vanilla stats are slightly better than what I would have expected.

Opp Turn 2: Plays minion, let's assume Totem Golem lives, because he has 4 health.
Turn 3: Trade, summon totem
Opp Turn 3: Let's assume one of your totems dies via removal, but not both. Opponent might play a cheap minion.
Turn 4: Play a this minion as a 5/5. 6/6 if he played a turn 3 minion.
Let's re-evaluate these turn 4 scenarios, assuming you get totem golem. (I know this is a favorable assumption, but it's not going to be terribly unlikely after mulligans)
1.) If your opponent kept your totems clear, he probably doesn't have any minions, so you have a 4/4. This means you have tempo, but not really a lead. Fine.
2.) If your opponent left 1 totem up, you have a 5/5, and he might have a cheap minion. You have a lead. He could buff his cheap minion to kill your 5/5, and maybe play another minion. This game is even, and you have a bit of a tempo lead
3.) If your opponent played 2 minions, you probably got very good value out of the Totem Golem and you might get to play this as a 6/6 before you trade away your Golem. In this case you're clearly ahead.
Conclusion: This card is good because at the very least, 6 mana for a totem and a 5/5 is a perfectly fine move. Playing Frostwolf Warlordin the same deck seems like a fine choice.
Worse than Frostwolf Warlord . Just 1 mana less but the condition is way to hard to get advantage. You can have at max a 6/6 minion at turn 4. But you must waste your last turns try to summon some useless totems that can easily be destroyed without worrying of losing their minion ( Ofcoz they will kill totem first if Totem shaman can make it real). Why not playing Fireguard Destroyer instead? Much easier, much value at turn 4?
PS: Oh yes Totem Golem is Strong. But pls, do you think you have that luck all the time?
Yea I'm having pretty good success so far with this card. We will see once decks get refined and people stop experimenting if this card is still good enough, but I like it. The midrange totem shamman seems to always have a totem out by turn 4, in which case this card is great! Her voice is sexy as hell too.
Now I wouldnt be so surprised if some Shaman starts using coin+totem on turn 1 !

It has a better stat line and costs less then Frostwolf Warlord at the cost of being Tribal.
It's a fair trade.
Give a man a Murloc, and he'll eat for a day.
Give him a Murloc Knight, and people will hate him.
the dream is coining totem golem then t3 playing the totem creating guy then get a 6/6 at turn 4

I think you can play both Shredder and Totemcarver. I made what I think is a decent prototype for a Totem deck which includes both:
The Frostwolf Warlord comparisons aren't unreasonable, but people are failing to consider that you can (and maybe should) run both.
Turn 2: Totem Golem, get overloaded.

very good arena card, in constructed i don't think so.
No matter how many 4 mana minions they introduce, shredder will be better. When will they understand they need to nerf shredder?
She can carve my totem anytime.
good card
