My first impression is that this is just a weaker version of Quartermaster, but multiple totem synergy cards are being introduced so we'll have to see how they all work together before making any valid judgements.
Currently the card looks too slow for constructed and for it's purpose you may as well run bloodlust. We'll have to see if any other hero power related cards help this guy out.
To me THIS is the most interesting card shown so far!
agree. I'm not sure totem shaman will actually pan out, but I think this is my favorite card so far. potentially incredibly powerful if it sticks around a couple turns. I don't think its broken the way the mage cards potentially might end up being (partially because shaman is starting from a position of weakness while mage is already one of the strongest classes), but it could be something.
compared to Stampeding Kodo, for instance, its at minimum +3 stats (in the case that you're hero powering alongside both, which obviously may not be the case especially on turn 5 or 6), and if you've already got a totem on the board, its +5, with a similar effect if you then trade that totem that was already on board into a weenie minion (there are some minions like Acolyte of Pain that the totem couldn't kill where Kodo could, but at the same time there are some like Knife Juggler that Kodo can't but the buffed totem can, plus you get to target it rather than being random)
I think this card could be pretty powerful. Especially with the 3/2 minion that summons a random totem and also the new totem golem. That is some pretty scary stats. We also haven't seen anywhere near all of the cards.
If we could get a legendary that works with totems that would be awesome!
It's pointless, discussing with such attitude is helpless, we will see if your precious totem deck will see play at least in casual. It looks oposite from you I did try to play with totems and entire CONCEPT is horribly designed. They are meant to be support not archetype, it is clear for every sane Shaman player, but it seems you are not one. We will see.
But those overactions are really funny though. Forstwolf Warlord that works only with totems - good, lol. Worse Bloodlust for totems - good. Indded, great boost. But oh wait! If you boost totems with totemic might they'll maybe live till you drop your Frostwolf Warlord!
And last pharase is really pathetic. I mean really. Every player has right to expect something. And Blizzard gives no more fuck about your wishes than anyone's else.
Couple of things friend:
1) The Totem Carver is a 4 drop not a 5 drop, so it's easier to combo with small drops (in this case small totems)
2) The Valiant gives permanent buffs unlike bloodlust and is attached to a reasonable body that could also potentially stack these buffs if it isn't answered.
3) We don't know how many more synergy cards will be announced
4) If totem shaman becomes even slightly popular Shaman becomes significantly better at handling all but the most face based decks due to the simple fear of the Valiant getting value. If valiant buffs the totem that activates inspire, it could even find it's way into a mid range shaman (although unlikely).
Don't knock anything until you try it. You'll be surprised what can work given enough time.
It has been said before (see above post e.g), but I feel like one has to put it very simple for some to understand: this is a permanent buff that can be applied several times.
If this goes unanswered, it might quickly get out of hand with some of the unseen cards affecting shaman hero power, who knows. Might be viable.
Sad thing, instead boosting mid-range or mech shaman, they are stubborn on trying to make totem shaman playable. And for now I'm gonna call failure on it.
You are awful.Absolutely awful in every way possible. You don't deserve the right to comment ever.
1) You pay 1 mana less, because card is objectively worse. It's a fair trade, I agree, but doesn't change its situation. You can't combo it with Spiders from Creeper or a minion that comes out of Shredder. Not even with Ferral Doggies. And the problem with totems is they have very low liveliness. If you have bad hand - ok, summon totems at turn 2 and 3. But keep on mind even now they don't survive, so why would they with such card around? And I don't think you are going to drop naked Mana Tide or Flametounge hoping they'll live only for this card. In the end the card is a bit cheaper, but much worse Frostwolf Warlord. By the sound you can tell, it's bad.
2) Permanent buff doesn't really matter, if it goes to something that will die this or next turn. Flametounge does exactly the same thing already and - once again - it's not restricted to totems and has a lot more versatility. Bloodlust on the other hand is a source of huge dmg, what this has smaller potential to be. Once again at the end it's just a card that overlaps already existing impact.
3) True, but you can somewhat predict, since we have number of cards in the set. And I think not every card that is going to be revealed will be totem support.
4) and point without a number - This is obvious that I'm judging from what we have already seen. I have no doubts Blizz could realase something completely broken for totems. But for now only 2 cards seem playable and not because they are totem-synergistic, but because while being totems/totems-related they support actual Shaman, what totems would ideally do, instead being source of gimmick archetype on their own.
The difference is that to remove a bloodlusted totem you trade for free while a valiant buff makes a 0/2 a 2/2 so it's less situational and it provides a 3/6 body (which is pretty solid on it's own). Personally I think that it could be a one of in mid range builds with Totem Golem and that new 3 drop if it buffs the card that activates its inspire. Mid-range will definitely be the better deck, but totem Shaman could provide a kind of aggro control deck that pushes Shaman forward as a varied class that can run aggro, mid range, and a weird tempo totem deck as possible tournament (or at least ladder) level decks.
Looking only at ideal scenarios, especially when it comes to the class which is already one fo the weakest ones, is not the great approach. You consider it to be played with bunch of totems, while Shaman usually have no power to create such board and nothing it got already makes it significantly easier. Totems aren't better than actual minions, keep this on mind. If you have already bunch of totems you probably won with or without this, if you are behind, this card won't help you by any means. That's ultimate argument, you can compare this situation to Troggzor vs Boom dilemma. Troggzor is good only to seal the win, while Boom helps you ridiculously when you are behind. That's why Troggzor sees no play and Boom is ultimate staple.
P.S. I appreciate someone here can reasonably discuss.
Of course, which is why I think the viability of this card lies entirely on whether it buffs the totem that activates the inspire. Basically your hero power summons 2/2s or 3/1s instead of 0/2s and 1/1s, so you can exo facto change your hero power into something much more powerful than you had before. Of course this would be a slow 7 mana play, but if anything else sticks, it's a snowball game winning play. As a one of it COULD see some play, especially if totem Shaman becomes a thing.
P.S. Some people just don't want to have hype squashed. Everyone will be talking reasonably in the coming days and I'm sure my hype will die down for machine gun mage. :p
Yeah it's basically a Fen Creeper am I right?
Card looks great.
The pics, I mean the pics.

Wow! Shamans finally get their own version of Quartermaster! Totem shaman is gonna be great and so will Totemic Might!
My first impression is that this is just a weaker version of Quartermaster, but multiple totem synergy cards are being introduced so we'll have to see how they all work together before making any valid judgements.
Not good enough, sorry.
It is obvious that they want us to play a new Shaman archetype.. I am curious to see if it will work out or not.
Who can take your trash out?
Stomp it down for you?
Shake the plastic bag
and do the twisty thingy, too?
It isn't mini-bloodlust. Effect is permanent for totems.

.
Is it just me... or do those texts on new cards look really small?

I really like this one, in concept at least.

If it works with the summoned totem it's quite good.

Don't be too quick to judge, let's just wait for the other cards.
Well, I still feel like this is gonna be good enough for totem oriented decks tho.

Totem Shaman is actually becoming playable.
Give a man a Murloc, and he'll eat for a day.
Give him a Murloc Knight, and people will hate him.
Nice for gimmick, average~ otherwise? Don't think it's good if board control isn't atleast balanced, if you're behind the worse it gets.
But if you do have board control (or if its balanced) i think it'd be a decent drop .
Still: More gimmick fodder! Weeeee!
