It would be the only 0 mana 1/1 who would maybe see play someday in wild with enough synergies...so why not. It wouldnt break the game and its not an insane thing to ask for.
Worst idea ever. A card which can always be played due to 0 mana and enables all tribe benefits "if you have X in your hand", "if you control X", .. Totally nuts.
It ain't nuts in all fairness especially with where the game's power level is going. There would've been a time that a 4 mana 4/5 with taunt was amazing even without the All tribe! And as murlocs are typically aggro and Blizzard think that it's fine to print a 0 mana murloc like that, then I don't think there could be any other tribe that would be considered any more problematic.
As you said, its a 1/1 0 mana MURLOC, thats different from a 1/1 0 mana ALL TRIBE card
Are there any tribes that you feel a 0 mana 1/1 would be broken in? If not, then I'd argue an amalgam wouldn't be broken due to being strictly weaker in a mono-tribe deck (due to crabs and similar techs), which is where most of these cards will find a home.
I'd suggest that the only one where it might be an issue is pirates, currently, but I'm not convinced that would be an issue.
Amalgams aren't for tribal decks. No tribe in the game is ecstatic to have a minion with vanilla stats. And it being amalgam instead of a single tribe is even a downside because of crabs\Zephyrs
Amalgams are for multitribal aka menagerie decks but there is no support for this apart from the new N'zoth and three meh cards from Karazhan.
BTW, I'd prefer a 0 mana 0/2 because we have only one of those.
I don't think the power-level is nuts. The only decks which would run this are ones with multi-tribe synergy (like that old janky murloc dragon paladin) or maybe some totem shaman.
The thing is that it would be the last 0 mana 1/1 ever printed. There's no way they could print something better after this.
Not really - with STD being a rotating format, adding another to that format would have some value. Doesn't matter if STD cards are strictly worse than Wild ones. Nobody grumbled about Master's Call being worse than Stitched Tracker (barring niche spell synergies, a 2/2 is better than not, and copy is better than drawing it if it's a card you want), did they?
Wait, call has the beast clause. In most decks, then :P

Master's Call isn't strictly worse. Not even close. In some decks, it is draw 3 minions for 3 mana

You know Grand Finale exists right
Not much worse than the 2 mana elemental mage has already that gives two 1 mana ones to your hand. In fact the 3 elemental in 1 cheap card is far worse than a single 0 mana 1/1 that sits in your hand until turn 7 which sounds like a pretty niche and weak play to me

Yeah, I brainfarted and forgot the clause that's completely irrelevant to me, as I said in my edit :P Without that, it is pretty much strictly worse. Trying to think of an actual comparison and drawing a blank, though I'd expect one.
Point is that cards can be weaker than older ones, though, owing to rotation.
Ok, 1/1 for 0 would be broken cuz of synergies, so what do you think about 1/1 amalgam for 1?
Absolutely unplayable. No tribal deck will play a vanilla 1 mana 1/2 or 2/1 and you are offering something far worse. 1 mana 1\1 amalgam with stealth or rush is a minimum here.
And stop claiming that 0 mana 1\1 would be broken. It is a groundless claim. Name me ONE tier 4+ deck (standard or wild) in which it would be an autoinclude. Or some new broken archetype that could emerge.

The point is that you could use it in addition to Confection. Four or five 8/8s is a lot more impactful than three 8/8s.

I love zero cost 1/1s. How about a 0 mana one? WOuld love to see us get one.

2 very different opinions in the responses i see :D

seems fine to me, but I would want a Hungry Crab in the core set then. if synergies get nuts, we could use crabs to control the population :D

Absolutely not. We want LESS power creep, not more.
