I'm still a pretty new player and have a limited supply of dust. I was saving dust for RoS to come out in case there was a must-have legendary. In the meantime, I still don't have Zilliax. Sad, I know. I know he's an auto include in most decks... so is there any reason I should wait and not craft him in order to craft something else that is necessary instead? It seems like right now Zilliax is sort of a card that won't be topped. Or at least not any time soon. Is there any reason at all that I shouldn't craft him?
Probably a dumb question... but I keep hesitating...
Craft it, either it will be a must have all year long, or it will be nerfed and you get your dust back, literally zero reason not to craft, one of the best cards at the moment in standart
There is no reason not to craft him, he is an extremely versatile card and will net you way more than enough value for the dust you will spend guaranteed.
you most definitely want to craft this card even now.
Only one argument not to craft Zilliax - if you fp, and do not play a lot, for standard you could use Zilliax for to more expansions. If you would craft something else, from RoS for standard, you could use it for five more expansions.
Other than that Zilliax is pretty good and could be used in variety of ways.
It won't be ever get nerfed due to Developers Q&A.
Playing mech hunter? That's a huge bonus point to crafting right there. If not, craft it anyways,
But I think there are better legendaries out there to craft since Zilliax cannot carry the game alone by itself. I would priotize any other legendaries than Bloodmage Thalnos and Zilliax, especially if the other legendaries are mandatory.
EDIT: It seems nobody understands the new player's problem, there are many important legendaries out there... I'm sure Zilliax isn't worth the instant craft.
Depends on which deck(s) you want to play. Obviously Zilliax can fit in almost any deck, but is by no means essential. So if you are on a budget and want to play a specific deck that needs specific legendary you dont have, you might consider prioritizing that one. If you have spare dust, craft him, you will not regret it either way.

in wild too, many decks in wild also run him, also ........stadard...., i'll assume you are a spanish speaker because typing "standart" is a common mistake among spanish speakers, but come on man we have literally the same word in spanish letter by letter as an anglisism..yes we also have "estándar" but no one uses that one....where does the d change for a t???
I am indeed on a budget, which is exactly why I'm considering crafting it - it seems to be an incredibly flexible card, and one that I've been regularly missing from decks I try to build. I'm constantly replacing it with cards I do have. It was previously the same for me with Leeroy Jenkins, until I managed to unpack him. I just don't open many Boomsday packs to expect to get Zilliax. Also, in addition to netdecking, I enjoy homebrew deck building, and I feel like Zilliax would fit in many of the decks I build that way.
And while I do try to craft with purpose, not just what other players have, it's hard to see what will perform well in a deck when you don't have it... especially when still learning the game... There are plenty of cards that I would think based on reading the card would be excellent or even essential but are basically never played. So it's a balancing act from where I sit.
I guess I could ask it another way - if you feel like looking through my collection, is there some other legendary I'm missing that would be more useful than Zilliax? Is there some deck that I could build that a different legendary would be more valuable?

Build a deck, not a card. Choose the deck u want to play and craft cards u need. There is no reason to craft Zilliax if u want token druid
Crafted it as soon as I didn't get it in my pre order packs. I had a feeling it would be great back then, but I was mainly thinking about mech decks. I had no idea it would actually become such a versatile card. It's even more versatile then leeroy as it's use in all kinds of decks.

I was gonna say EXACTLY what Mr. Jonny_Di said right here. He said it perfectly. Craft him.
I usually instant craft my favorite new legendary with each expansion. Hagatha for WW, Zilliax & Dr. BOOM for BD, Zuljin for RR and blastmaster boom for RoS. If you think you'll enjoy a card just craft it. But be aware that certain cards may have conditions or synergies that you may not have. For instance, Zilliax is an amazing card. But if you already have a lot of mechs he becomes much stronger. The combination of magnetic and lifesteal is insane! And always be aware of how your opponent may react.
It won't be ever get nerfed due to Developers Q&A.

Zilliax is THE most impactful legendary in standard and it’s not close.
I feel dumb in retrospect for not crafting him just a few weeks into Boomsday. I ended up waiting until midway through RR, and I feel like I'd have seen a meaningful win % change with my control decks if I'd had him sooner.
Of all the legendaries I've crafted, Zilliax is the one I regret least.
I crafted him just a few days ago. I didn't need him for the decks I was playing previously. Then crafted him to test Mech Paladin since he and Crystalsmith were the only cards I needed and Zilliax could also be used in other decks I'm interested.
I guess I could ask it another way - if you feel like looking through my collection, is there some other legendary I'm missing that would be more useful than Zilliax? Is there some deck that I could build that a different legendary would be more valuable?
Usually those legendaries are class exclusives, while Zilliax is a neutral. And since you're on a budget, and seems relatively new, you're probably missing a ton of things that could be more useful than Zilliax.
Unless you want to focus on one or two classes, Zilliax sounds safer, but cheaper decks are usually Aggro decks, which Zilliax doesn't fit too well, ironically, except maybe Mech Hunter. Though you can use him to protect other minions thanks to the taunt and divine shield.
Anyway, if you would like to play a slower Shaman, Walking Fountain does an even greater job than Zilliax if you put him on the board, and he's just a common. Warrior doesn't really need the healing, as they have tons of Rush cards and some great removal (Warpath is a common, Dyn-o-matic is a rare, etc).
Zilliax isn't as flashy as some other game defining legendaries like Dr.Boom Mad Genius, Arch-Villain Rafaam, Khadgar, etc... his importance is almost invisible, he's the one that buys you the time and tempo on board to actually be able to play those definings legendaries later. That's his value. He wins buy giving you the time/opportunity to play the bombs to win, he doesn't win by himself.
He can be played by every class, and in every archetype, even if less optimally in some. So what you need to know is if you really will use him or need him. I waited almost a year to craft him because I didn't need him back then.

Safest craft in standard right now

I like elementals and totems.
I agree with the others - it is a must have legendary and if they nerf him (I really hope not since he is fair) you get your dust back.

Craft with purpose , not what older players have !

he is a all around decent card if u want to have good colection
but he is not a center piece of any deck
if u want to for example play zoo lock then dont craft him
but if u just want to craft a legendary he is the best choice in standard
I was gonna say EXACTLY what Mr. Jonny_Di said right here. He said it perfectly. Craft him.
