Cheaper and all around version of Branching Paths in Malygos Druid. In that deck you already have lot of cards in hand and this will give good armor all the time. In standard I have no idea.
I like this card a lot. I don't think it's better than branching paths, but it's a redundant effect that combo decks need. If you think of this as branching paths on draw a card and gain 6 armor, you're usually getting the exact same effect (plus or minus an armor) for one less mana. You don't need hand-size synergy for it to be good either. I think this is a one-two of in ramp and combo.
I like this card more than the Taunt minion that was revealed along with it. It's a Shield Block for druid, which also enables Jasper Spellstone even if you don't have your Oaken Summons at t4.

So...why did the pull a Freeze Shaman on Druid this expansion? Where is the pay-off? A 4 Mana token generator in a defile meta??? Seriously, not all gimicks need to be good but there's no incentives to play Hand Druid. This card on its own outside of gimmicks is solid though.
Branching Path is good for board oriented deck. Its effect is like savage roar on your board, utility to give armor or draw in some tough moments is good but secondary. For combo oriented deck Ferocious Howl looks better, And anyway you can play both, with "one of" for branching
Stop assuming hand druid wont happen.. majority of the cards havnt been revealed.. people still think control hunter wont happen but look at the cards being released for hunter, its gonna happen in my eyes

Druid's set has been fully revealed. If there is going to be more support for that deck-type, then it will come from the neutrals, which I kinda doubt. Just see for yourself.
On the one hand you have cards, which go along a slow strategy (mountain giant, the new 5 mana twilight drake with taunt), but then you have that weird 4 mana wisps spell, which fits better in a token deck, aka aggro aka hand dumping deck.
As for the Howl itself - well, many of us talk about its usefulness in combo decks, since a) it helps you cycle through your deck faster, b) gives you some sustainability.
Okay we going to armor up i get it
We going to play giants on turn 4 for tempo then we play a big tount for deffense then we play 7 1/1 welps ?
Idk this druid deck seems bad to me
Whats our win condition ?
a better Shield Block, nice

Anything with "Draw a card" on it is potentially playable in a combo deck.
5 or more cards to equal a Shield Block. Does druid really need the card draw or more armor generation? I dont really think it does.

If Control Druid becomes a thing this will be a standard card in that deck.

This + Branching = Hello TankDruid
If you gain 6 and draw with branching paths this is 1 mana cheaper, (3 mana) which is lacking in Raven Year Druid

I say its pretty good (atleast in Standard), because Jade Blossom leaves Standard and there are not many good 3 mana plays for Druid atm.
