The fact that this destroys your amalgan brings a tear to my eye. I wanted to create a totem deck with the new amalgan in wild and hoped this would give some synnergy. Guess that’s not gonna happen... xD
Yeah, that kind of sucks. Same for Flametongue totems. I'd prefer it if it said "destroy your basic totems".
2 totems = 4 mana 6/7 lose two totems which is probably just a par minion
3 totems = 4 mana 8/9 lose 3 totems, here this minion is decent but is now susceptible to removal
4 totems = 4 mana 10/11 lose all your totems, this is pretty good but you might as well play the 4 mana 4/5 and get a free alakir and not destroy your totems.
Conclusion bad/very bad unless you have at least 3 totems, with 4 totems it's worse than the alakir guy.
you have to hit 3 totems for this to be good, and if you have 3 totems out you might as well go for the windshear and try summon al'akir.
What. How do u need to hit 3 totems to that be good? With 2 totens it's already a 4 mana 6/7 taunt ... With 3 its a 4 mana 8/9 taunt... Yeah, if u mean to use hero power before playing the card, yeah, u could be right, but that is not needed.
if you hit 1 basic totem, you get 4/3 in stats for 4 mana; you would never put this in your deck. if you hit 2 basic totems, you get 6/3 or 5/4 in stats for 4 mana; you would never put this in your deck.
so you have to hit 3 basic totems to get 8/3 or7/4 in stats for 4 mana, this is marginal to include (salty dog was awful at 5 mana, unconditionally).
if you have a flametongue or mana tide on board, this is unplayable.
hitting 2 basic totems does not mean playing a 6/7 taunt for 4. you need to subtract the 4 stats you took off the board by destroying your own totems.

Most of the time the totens are not useful, do almost nothing, they are helpful when u have a blood lust or a flame tongue, but even then that 2 health of them are the same that 1. Die for the same things. The 0/2 spell damage would be as good as now if we're a 0/0 spell damage. The stats are almost symbolic

That’s exactly what i wished this card would do. All non-basic totems are too valuable to just sacrifice them for a few +2/+2 buffs on another minion. Kinda weird Blizzard that would make Amalgan and then give it anti-synnergy with another card from the same set (for an already declining class). Are they banking on Hagatha carrying shaman to viability?
I think this thing desperately needed Senjin-level neutral stats to be good. Totem Generation, even with Genn, isn't exactly something you want to be doing for 2-3 turns before playing this.
And on top of that, I'm not sure you want to be eating those totems if that is indeed what you're gameplan is turns 2-3. Flametongue or direwolf is probably serving your purposes better.
This is a sleeper card of the set. If shaman will be competitive this card surely will be playable
When i think of it, you might be right, especially in wild where you can spam totems. Kobold hermit, primal talismans, tuskarr totemic, draenei totemcarver, wicked witchdoctor, woohoo.

You've unintentionally identified the problem with this card. It is encouraging you to do a thing which is generally not good to do. And the payoff is not good enough to encourage you to do it.
0-mana, 5/5 taunt, keep the board you have = worth summoning totems. 4-mana, 2/3+ taunt, destroy your board of totems =/= worth summoning totems.
I, personally, enjoy the idea of some sort of totem shaman deck. But this deck and this card are not on a competitive level currently.

Blizzard hate warrior for sure, but with such a waste of an epic make me feel not alone. Warrior and shaman are together in this train of indifference, and it seem that nothing can stop bliz from making pack fillers instead of usefull stuff.
Jeweled Macaw and Stampede are getting weaker with Witchwood... way too many bad random beasts.
MSG\Karazhan\Old Gods have decent hunter\druid beast and few bad neutral beasts. Those are replaced with way to many bad beasts in witchwood. 9 mana 7/8, 5 mana 4/4, 3 mana 2/4, 4 mana 2/3...

Seems made for Even Shaman, and I think it seems decent in that deck. Probably won't make the cut though.

This is cool. turn 4 8/9 if you play an even Grenn Shaman deck, even If you sacrifice only 2 totems It can works, but let´s see what happen.
Even at +3/3 per totem it would be questionable. Unplayable.
