Totally fine card gameplaywise. Not as OP as Mustard, but I'm sure there is some synergy upcoming.
The only thing that bothers me is that this is a recycled idea. Come on Blizzard, we want new ideas like C'Thun, and not Mustard 2.0. Hope there won't be too many of those in the set...
I think this card will find it's place in reno paladin in standard, even if they release no new synergies. People are too spoiled by how stupidly broken muster for battle was, and they dismiss this card too easy. With no 1 dmg aoe removal that in reality only warriors, hunters and rogues use (and you still trade 1 for 1 with it, losing 2-3 mana worth of tempo), this card takes 5 attacks to fully remove, it is better tempo vs a board full of low hp minions compared to a 5 5 (which takes 2-3 turns to kill multiple small minions on it's own, when you can do it in 1 turn with this card).
This isn't by any means going to be auto-include paladin card, but I would give it a shot. With all the sticky minions being gone, this is as sticky as you are going to get for now, and the biggest counter - death's bite is rotated out.
That being said, this card's design is disappointing to me. At least corrupted versions of doomsayer and healbot had a different gimmick to them, this card is just a more expensive muster. Zero creativity went into this card. I really don't like this "corrupted cards" design for this expansion, makes the cards look less exciting, and especially in this case when there is so little different about them compared to previous version.
People comparing it to Muster are stupid, because Muster simply was too strong and the whole thing about Standard is to drop the power level a bit so other different ideas of cards may actually see competitive play.
For this to happen, there will obviously be functional reprints and some Standard seasons will be more OP than others as well. People which play other TCG know this.
It's not particularly good itself, but not weak either. Value wise it's pretty average for a 5 mana card (effectively yields 5/5 worth of stats split on 5 bodies), for a class card it actually underperforms value-wise. Now that's in a vacuum, with synergies it might generate more value (think Gormlok, Juggler, Trainer or some other new cards), but that's yet to be seen. First impressions as of now is "average at best".
So boring...is this really the card you want to show to create hype for the expansion?I'm not watching the stream but did they said if this is the only reveal we are getting today?
Because it sucks in early game, it sucks against almost any other five drop and any AoE (in Wild at least), and in late game you aim to win with your Justicar-boosted hero power, not with an otherwise useless card like that.
I think paladin needs that kind of card if we want to see some token deck in Standard, and I will probably end up playing this card in a fun token deck in Wild.
I understand Blizzard, they do not want new cards on the "Muster for Battle" power level, but this card seems difficult to play without other powerful tools.
We have to keep in mind that now standard doesn't have really good 5 drops yet. No more Loatheb, Sludge Belcher and Antique Healbot... Unless a dragon paladin is happening, the main options right now are Tuskarr Jouster, Stampeding Kodo and this one... it's not good but not that bad actually
So far all cards have displayed a complete lack of imagination. This is trash tier.
I disagree. They are pushing token paladin even more, which is not viable now. Maybe some cards will buff recruits, who knows. Even though it is not strong or broken by its own it gives space for cool combos.
And also, there are ALWAYS bad cards in expansion. People complaining dont understand card games at all, they expect all cards to be viable.
good, fuck paladin
you guys need to complain about the right thing.
The art in this card is terrible, human or dwarf hard to tell, there's no human with a mustache like this in wow.

Not convinced. Paladin needs a decent early game since all of it is going to be removed, not another 4+ mana card of which there are plenty.

Trash card, next.
A balanced paladin card?? What is this madness?

Even in Wild with Quartermaster, Muster for Battle does better then this...
I mean even turn 10, going for muster + hero power + QM is just slightly worse then this new card plus QM...
I used to be a control player like you, then I took a quick shot to the knee.

Well. If this costs four mana, it contests shredder. I think it's very vary balanced.
Great card for Wild and Arena; not so sure about Standard.
