I think this decks biggest pitfall is its obviousness. Like shaman in standard, when facing secret paladin you pretty much know what to expect each turn so the pally doesn't really have a chance to outplay, it's a double edged sword. Basically you play your perfect curve, and yes for all intents and purposes secret pally has probably the strongest curve in the game, and you hope your opponent runs out of answers. So if you're into playing paladin but don't want to do much thinking then I highly recommend this deck as it's extremely consistent and therefore good.
There aren't really any counters to the deck. The VS numbers indicate that Secret Paladin is even or favoured in every match-up. Freeze Mage has never been consistent enough to counter anything - in principle it counters a wide variety of decks, while in practice, the deck has one of the lowest win-rates in both Standard and Wild, and Gosu tracks the deck as the weakest tournament performer among any popular deck. Similar remarks apply to the other decks you mention - they are difficult to pilot, and often lose to poorly selected play lines.
It is still a very powerful deck and I would even say that it is not so dust heavy in comparison to some other decks. It is definitely worth the craft in my opinion. Very good deck, very powerful.
Sorry, but Secret Paladin is overrated: Horrible winrate against Freeze Mage, Priest and Patron Warrior.
It's not weak by far, no it is one of the strongest decks out there, but don't expect that you will own everything. Wild is actually a quite healthy meta, and if there are too many Secret Paladins out there, Priest will rise more, as then Murloc-Paladin then crushes Priest for example.
N'zoth is a heavy counter to Secret Paladin, and helped more than Eater of Secrets did.
No, it does not have a "horrible winrate" versus any of those, though they are slightly favored if piloted correctly.
It is a disgustingly effective deck still, and new versions and tech emerge all the time! However, the deck does beat itself more often than you think due to drawing too many secrets early and not finding powerplays (MC/Boom) in time.
Just do it, secret palading is a really great deck. My current winrate is at 93%. Once you get a decent card draw you're not losing and if you don't you mostly still win. :D
Aside from usual decklist you might wanna consider adding Kelthuzad, Barnes or maybe even lightlord.
Nothing is gained from telling someone not to mention data - it's a rather curious line of play you've selected, to say the least. In any event, VS tracks about 20,000 Wild games each month, so their numbers aren't exactly trivial. SP's match-ups are green and white across the board - Midrange Shaman is currently the only exception, though the deck has one of the lowest play-rates in the format. PW isn't a counter - the match-up is even, presumably for the reasons I cited. If you think otherwise, feel free to explain why the VS numbers are wrong. Unfortunately, you don't strike me as being interested in contributing to the discussion, so my expectations are low. Advice - when anonymously insulting a perfect stranger, proper spelling is important. Better luck with your future insults - my expectations are high that you aren't quiet finished.
Its not expensive at all if you play a version without dr boom and tirion, which is totally viable
No you're absolutely right. I myself being a f2p player have created a relatively cheap secret pally deck too that I've run for ~40 games right now with ~70% wr. I just didn't mention it earlier because I'm 100% sure it's basically the normal secret pally that everyone knows.
VS publishes a weekly report, but they publish live updates to their stats on their Data Reaper Live page. It displays Standard, so you have to click the links for Wild.
No you shouldn't. There are better and cheaper wild decks out there. Secret paladin isn't even considered a tier 1 deck in wild.
Tempo storm has it as the top deck on tier 1. It is and always will be a tier 1 wild deck. Where are you seeing it as something else?
Indeed - VS tracks the deck as the most popular in the format, with the highest win-rate. Looking at the stats this morning, its worst match-up is 49% (against Druid.) It's difficult to see how SP could be anything other than the top deck in the format - though this thread seems to be brimming with experts who think otherwise.
I'd definitely consider making Secret Pally for Wild. It's strong, fun to play, and extremely effective on many matchups. Climbed from 25 to 15 in just a few hours with most of it being a winstreak.
It's easy to learn, and once you have a feel for it, you can easily outplay most decks. Even lacking a board wipe, the amount of control it gives is remarkable.
I only lost maybe twice, once to Priest, once to Warrior. Of which I never drew a Challenger, Tirion, or Boom.
It is sensibly meta depending, sure among T1 decks, but it does not provide a deep experience to your game.
I would invest in a more challenging deck, with higher level reasoning, enabling deeper knowledge of the overall game: patron, controls, even zoolock would be definitelly more interesting.
Well piloted patron wrecks secret. All the others are in many cases 50/50.

Yeah, it still feels pretty broken.
Tried it just for fun and nostalgic reasons, 25=>12 in few hours, 82% WR (27-6).
If you don't have any dignity and brains left I don't see why not
Fuck cubelock
It is what, 1600 dust if you have Boom, Loatheb and Tirion, if you should if you are serious about playing wild.
MCs, Minibots, Shredders, avenge, Belchers, Mustard, spiders.

Got to rank 2 with it last season it's still great face hunter is stronger though(most decks in wild are midrange and weak to it)

I would do it - Wild pally seems like it will be an evergreen deck (unless Blizz pulls a shitty move and starts nerfing old-ass cards).
On the other hand, the wild pally deck is super expensive if you're new/f2p.

Pity Shieldbots and Muster aren't standard.
My 2 cents:

If you enjoy playing it, sure. It's a really good deck.
