Arena drafts are almost completely random and therefore there is no algorithm that determines how many spells you are going to get. You were just unlucky with the draft.

I would give blizzard my house and all my money if they removed priest from the game.
Just finished my Arena draft as Mage. I was only offered spells 4 times!! And those choices were horrendous.
I ended up with 2 Frostbolts, 1 Book of Specters, and 1 Shooting Star!!!
Why does this happen? I am a Mage for fuks sake!! I cast spells! Thats my class.
WTF Blizzard?
does anyone else have this issue lately? I thought the bucket system went back to a more balanced Draft?
You cannot complain about random die rolls.
sure I can. They started a bucket system, and I think they removed it. But then I thought increased the spell offer variance in drafting. not sure. but only getting 4 offers seems wrong cuz i am a mage, and mage has tons of class cards that are spells. Blizzard are the ones who set the random die generator and could easily increase the amount of Class cards offered.
Thats why I was so incredulous about only getting a few!

Erm, no. The arena algorithm is complex but public knowledge. Last I checked, spells and class cards are rigged to appear more often. Either the bucket system is preventing them from appearing (Spells are probably all in the top buckets and mage is offered the lower buckets more often because of class balancing) or OP is super unlucky
Don't you know that magic users have to re-memorize their spells every day?
Unless you're one of those pesky Sorcerer heathens. "Ooh I can cast Magic Missiles a bajillion times a day, and I don't even need a spellbook!" Young whipper-snapper!
...On topic, it's an unfortunate situation to be in, but that's Arena for you :/
Behold, foolish interlopers! I am commanding this mortal to spread the will of the Scourge throughout the interwebs, encouraging you to seek out me, Archlich Kel'Thuzad! Now coming to you as the tenth class of Hearthstone!
I am a finalist in this Class Creation Competition, so if you could give it a look I would be greatly appreciative <3
because casting Blizzard 4 times a game is unbalanced. And so is Fireball. And so is Meteor, imagine gaining board just to watch it disappear. Guess it doesn't really matter what is in the deck as long as you have 3 board clears.

All 4 spells you got are very good, amazing actually, especially since the rest of your deck r minions. Yes, 4 spells is not the usual amount, but you got very good ones.
To be honest, i actually think ur lying a bit, you were probably offered more crappy ones, but picked only the 4 good ones and either by confirmation bias or by trying to make a point you said you were offered only 4 spells, not that you were offered only 4 good spells.
I went 9-3 with no spells as mage. Just happens sometimes. dont complain and just get better at arena. Any deck no matter how bad can hit 5 wins if you are good enough. Just practice and you will get there
Frostbolt, Book of Specters, Shooting Star...a lot of horrible choices indeed lol. You don't need many spells to do well as a Mage. Had a Mage draft with three spells the other day (Blizzard, Book of Specters, Arcane Explosion) and still went 11-3.

Totally! Big hand Mage is an example. Obviously I adjusted my draft as best I can for proactive minions to make up for the lack of board clears that Mage usually has. I was just incredulous at the moment cuz I was under the assumption that Blizzard restored the appearance rateof Class cards. I guess i was wrong. Thx for your encouragement by the way.
I stopped playing arena because of these types of RNG. I get that they are trying to make it more fair, but since the update after I think it was KOTFT, I stopped because I couldn't draft to save my life

People complained about too many spells (read board wipes) being offered, so they lowered those odds.

Free to try and find a game, dealing cards for sorrow, cards for pain.

How many legendaries did you draft?
