The best one that I've heard around the forums so far is "Whenever you draw a card, shuffle a copy of it into your deck" so your deck is always full and you can always draw any card from it, regardless of how many copies you've already drawn!
What about some simple deckbuilding rules, like only rare cards allowed, only basic and expansion cards allowed, Basic+common cards only with max 4 rares and no epics/legendaries (budget mode). Or any kind of curve restrictions, like you must play at least 10 cards over 5 mana, or you can only use cards with odd/even manacost.
Or something like arena mode where you choose a class then pick a deck using deck helper only, or even totally random mode where you choose class, let the deckbuilder finish your deck automatically and then you can replace up to 5 cards in your deck with anything you want.
Both decks are shuffled together then divided and distributed between the players.
I think it has been said somewhere, but similar idea to that that could be fun is you play with opponent's deck, but with some restriction so you can't build a deck incapable of doing any dmg to enemy hero.
The possibilities are endless. Almost every suggestion in this thread makes me think "yeah that would be awesome". I assume they will start off with something fairly simple and boring just to kick things off. Maybe 'minions only' or 4+ mana cards only.

First brawl looks like it could be players picking between 2 premade decks, Ragnaros and Nefarian with the data-mined cards.
What kind of crazy themes can you think of for Tavern Brawl?
Basic (soulbound) minions have +1/+1. I'd love to see how much they'd be used with some small buffs.
Feel free to add me if you play on NA! iMPose#1429
All I want to see is that we get some rewards for winning the brawls.
Some ideas for global effects:
That's exactly the idea.
Would you play Stonetusk Boar over Zombie Chow? Would you play Chillwind Yeti over Piloted Shredder? Would you play River Crocolisk over Shielded Minibot? Etc.

Different board hazards would be cool too:

I hate RNG

I'd play goldshire over zombie chow. I'd play yeti over hungry dragon. +1/1 is strong.

- 30 Unstable Portals
- 30 Webspinners
- Nothing but shredders (probably need to increase hero health for this)
- Random decks built before each game from the player's collection, preferably without their seeing the end result beforehand
Every minion has a deathrattle "Summon a Shadow of nothing"
So basically you'd have to ration board space really quickly.

The only cancer in Hearthstone is its community.
btw where is brawl? main page of the site is lying
60 card slots and/or 4 copies max for every card! :D
nah I think they'll start with the datamined Ragnaros and Nefarian
on-topic: you play any deck you want, but you get your opponent's hero power instead. could be good because match-making is random
although no one would play rogue in here, so yeah not that great
"Your soul shall be mine!" -- "You asked for it!"
Worst. Foreplay. Ever.
First brawl looks like it could be players picking between 2 premade decks, Ragnaros and Nefarian with the data-mined cards.
Some relatively simple ideas that would still have a major impact:
Swap the attack and health of ALL minions.
Similar to first one: Thaddeus effect --> swap the attack and health of all minions on the board at the start of each turn.
Heroes start with 45 health
Maximum of one of any card in your deck (i.e. deck must have 30 different cards).
Only faction minions allowed
No faction minions allowed
Play as Nefarian or Ragnaros (I think this one is pretty likely to happen given the recent datamining results)
Half of your deck is swapped with half of your opponent's deck before the game starts.
Some more suggests:
Only minions wich buff minions
At the end of each player's turn, get a shadowstep in hand.
Bring as much explosives as you can!
And much much more... anyway, I think this week will be Ragnaros vs Nefarian.
