maybe not right now, but it will happen next year when dk rotates out
Most of the upgrades and cheap hero powers are for your early game power, so the DKs (who are all basically win conditions and have powerful battlecries) don't really impact that at all. Odd Mage can still run Jaina for example. It's basically the same situation as when you swap out your hero power for Deathstalker Rexxar or the Warrior DK in the current meta. You're losing something that helped you in the early-mid game for something more powerful.
Anyway, I think the power of the hero upgrades in particular is getting severely underestimated. Having a 2 damage ping in the early game in mage (or just having it without having to play a 6/3 for 6) is way more powerful than people think it is. Just as an example.
Look, I want to tell you something because you're very dear to me. And I hope you understand that it comes from the bottom of my damaged, damaged heart. You are the finest piece of ass I've ever had and I don't care who knows it. I am so glad that I got to roam those hillsides.
why can't some of you understand the simple concept of: if it make sit into a tier list then it's viable???, seriously go back to preschool or something you need a re-education on basic cognitive analysis.
On the flipside, if every card and every deck is trash except for warlock, the chances of an odd or even deck becoming tier 1 goes up since the mechanic is so powerful and every card is unplayable. At least that is how logic works, but some of you aren't the brightest. Keep trying to make yourself feel better about not being able to afford the preorder guys. :}
Edit: Just a reminder that the same people who want to be proven wrong also probably talked trash about quest rogue before begging for a nerf.
Gaining 4 armor for 2 mana every turn is absurdly powerful. Even if every other deck with Genn and Baku may be trash, tank up is absurd and warrior still keeps its premium armor gain, shield slam, and brawl. Even if that deck is trash this expansion, that effect is so powerful that it will competitively viable before rotation.
I think you phrased that wrong black cat card is for example a amazing card, while odd/even decks wil be trash in witchwood not enaugh cards to make it work, maybe in a couple a expansion it will prob be a tier 1 deck.
The more cards for No-even/odd decks the more difficult to make viable even/odd decks.
With a bigger pool is more easy to find alternatives making the strategy viable.
For example mass removal, if you want to play a odd deck but all mass removal are even cards this kill the deck, with more cards and more expansions better the chances you have mass removals are your disposal.
Odd/even will be good ONLY with classes and decks that can REALLY abuse their hero powers, that is:
-Hunter: Any aggro/midrange version can do with a hero power that hits for 4hp. That would be very powerful. It will need the cards but if it finds decent cards it could be deadly.
-Mage: Mage heroe power hitting for 2 or costing 1 less mana is really good. But it would need control cards to go with it, I'm not so sure if there are enough.
-Priest: Healing 4? Im not sure how good that is. Healing is specially good when healing minions to stay of range, and healing 2 tends to be enough. Maybe not worth.
-Warrior: There are A LOT of armor warrior cards that could definelty do with a 4 armor hero power. But this cards doesnt seem like too much, so maybe not enough.
The other classes I dont think find too much use in this improved heroe powers.
Hey OP, you're a chimp, and you turned out to be very wrong. Shocking!!

Just like spell hunter would be a tier 4 deck right?just Wait untill the expansion hits, Im pretty Sure people will come up with uses for it.
Uh spell hunter was a tier 4 deck that became a pseudo tier 2/1 high roll deck when they added Barnes to the deck. Watch ANY game from previous meta where the spell hunter didn't get Barnes on curve or get a spell stone ramped up by 5. They LOSE and lose badly.
Your prediction was wrong, even paladin was t1 during witchwood, is still storng, Even warlock has been t1 and there are three different high tier odd decks.
I think most people overestimated the need for cards that only work in even/odd decks (Murkspark Eel, black cat,Gloom Stag, etc) and underestimated how good the upgraded hero powers were just by themselves.
The burden of proof is one the person asking the claim, so please provide some evidence

You're wrong, OP. Prove me wrong.

The cards are not individually trash. There's some kind of mediocre effects to some, but not all of it.
The simple fact is that the odd/even card pool isn't deep enough to be competitively viable. Or, at least, I don't think that it is yet.
A never-Legend Dad who keeps making rank 2 or 1, but then sliding.
Rumbling around Gurubashi Arena. Shirvallah is the best loa. Go Tigers!
Every single odd and even card is trash? So basically what you're saying is that every single card in the game of Hearthstone is trash. rofl

day, of release, if a deck isn't a shudderwock nor a cubelock deck then i'ts basically a Baku aggro/tempo deck..so Op was proven wrong.
Odd facehunter is already t2-t1 (destroys shutterwock) and odd mage is fairly decent.

shame on you for necroing threads, but thanks anyways, because this gave me a good laugh. Some threads age so poorly.
