Well I didn't raise my rank this time and I am having fun with my non tier decks at rank 15-16 and I don't meet any shaman I mostly play against control warriors. fatigue rogues. control mages and some times I lose to the aggro decks such as face hunters. zoolocks and pirate warriors
You met a renounce warlock? I thought I was the only one stupid enough to put renounce darkness in a deck. I'd call it a Reno dreadsteed n'zoth deck though, it's just got renounce for when I've drawn all the cards I want and fatigue might be an issue.
You cannot talk about the "meta" at rank 15-16. I'm myself there at the moment, cuz really I don't care anymore, but in the past I could really see specific decks shaping up the said "meta" only from rank 10, and even then, it's not as visible as rank 5.
lovely how everyone keeps mocking him for rank 15/16 when thats actually top 30%. which still isnt amazingly good, but hes better than a ton of players
on a totally different note, did you guys already notice how OP shaman is this season? :OOOOOO
Not mocking his rank mocking him comparing the meta to his rank.
I'm at standard rank 4 EU, and I've run into a fair amount of Midrange Shaman, but nowhere near what people make it out to be. It's probably the deck I've run into the most, but not by a massive margin. I'm actually still running into what people would call "fun decks": I faced off against Ethereal Peddler Rogue and Embrace OTK Priest a couple times each recently which I found pretty surprising. That said, the amount of Midrange Shaman has been steadily growing as I've climbed from basically non-existent around 15/16 to kind of there at 10 to very much present at 5. At this rate, legend will be very Midrange Shaman heavy.
I checked my deck tracker for last month when I was at rank 6 pushing for rank 5 on October 29/30. Perhaps some Hearthpwn posters would consider that a "real" rank, not sure. Out of the last 20 games recorded, three were against mid-range Shamans. Most of the games were rank 6, with a couple at rank 7. 15% occurrence is not out of bounds considering that 1/9 = 11.1%:
If a deck is really great, you will see it every level, not just the highest levels. Why? Because people are always trying to advance, and even at "lower/don't count levels". Also, it's not like people are stuck playing a non-Shaman deck. Since my experience last season matches my experience with this season, even though I'm not doing as well this season, I come to the conclusion that people are exaggerating the presence of Shamans if they're talking about EU. I also notice that the examples given above are a much smaller and less specific samples than the ones I've given.

Shamanstone may exist, but not on EU server.
Thanks for doing us a solid with your perfect analysis of the situation. I see no problems other than the large sample size and the fact that this happened on October 29/30 (at which point Midrange Shamans are probably rank 5+). Please stop embarrassing yourself.
I'm gonna tell you how it feels like to play in EU ladder (rank 10-legend) right now.
It feels like you are Amnesiasc, playing a deck that requires some kind of skill and doesn't just go face. You are literally thinking about each turn and calculating the most reasonable attack.
Then again your opponent is pavel, playing some rng random stuff such as highrolling the right totem or well playing against mages with some "pew pew's" or Pavel Book ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
This is what is surely going on right now. You need luck or you lose. Rngstone live Kappa (and I am telling this only because I needed 2-3 hours to actually get one single star to jump from rank 8 to 7 without really losing more lol. And I refuse to play Pavel decks)
I've been experimenting this month, so I got down to low ranks (18, shame...). I've started to grind with Aggro Dragon Warr that IamDannyWu posted, and out of 10 games, 7 vs Hunter, none vs Shaman. Currently rank 14 and going up.
Below's the deck, upvote the guy, 'cause he deserves it!
Where are the Shaman's people are complaining about? American server?
Just played 20 games in Standard ladder on EU server, around rank 15-16. In 20 games, I only faced one Shaman.
1. Miracle Rogue 2. C'thun Warrior 3. Discard Warlock 4. MID-RANGE SHAMAN 5. Secret Hunter 6. Rattle/Secret Hunter 7. 10/10-EVC-on-turn-3 Rogue 8. Spell Druid 9. N'zoth Rogue 10. Mid-Range Mage 11. Handlock 12. Wallet Warrior 13. C'thun Warrior 14. Renounce Warlock 15. N'Zoth Rogue 16. RenoLock 17. Secret Hunter 18. Control Warrior 19. Resurrection Priest 20. Dragon Paladin
You will see more shamans on higher ranks, 15-16 is total random decks.... ;)
AJAX AMSTERDAM
They are already rank 5+ by now or very bad at the game I guess ;).

That sample size is too small, and as said above, you're at a pretty low rank.
20 / 30% Shaman is what you can expect at higher ranks.
I used to be a control player like you, then I took a quick shot to the knee.

EU Standard ladder is not rank 15-16

Hello.
The end is coming!
I'm at rank 8 and 9 out of 10 games are against shaman :)
Im around 6-8 and 80% Shaman, every fifth deck is a hunter!
-let´s negotiate: you concede and I let you live...
Rank 7-5 6 shamans in a row 6/6 win with renolock.
Same here, 5 games in a row with nzoth warrior, all against shaman

In reverse order:
1. MID-RANGE SHAMAN 2. Mid-range Mage 3. Spell Druid 4. Mid-range Hunter 5. Secret Hunter 6.Tempo/Pirate Warrior 7. Spell Druid 8. Discard Lock 9. Dragon Paladin 10. Murloc/Mid-range Paladin 11. Ramp Druid 12. Control Warrior w/Karazhan cards 13. MID-RANGE SHAMAN 14. Tempo Mage 15. N'Zoth Rogue 16. Freeze Mage 17. Tempo Mage 18. MID-RANGE SHAMAN 19. C'thun Warrior 20. Desert Camel Hunter
