Damn sorry bro. I just woke up today and got hit with the nerfs. I pushed with the old shaman deck last night. I'm thinking of switching to control warrior now..

fun vs efficiency that's what I think it will come down to. I love to play control ....but midrange deck more faster. I'll probably go with Dragon priest or my my murloc Nzoth pally.
Instead I've been running into mostly control warrior and anyfin paladin. On the plus side I'm crushing them, on the negative each game is like half an hour. I also beat a druid and 2 rogues. Ironically I lost to the first shaman I faced when I just couldn't draw into an answer for his second thunderbluff that proceeded to solo me, but the other two went to plan and were comfortable wins.
Yogg is not dead as i predicted at announcement. they didn't nerf him hard enough. he is still seeing play and success from my friends and streamers, even currently at rank 2. Decks are still being submitted to competitive tournaments with yogg included. The order of his spells matter. Just stopping future spells after he's been removed doesn't negate all the positive spells he previously played.

It's looking decent, better that expected. It's not good to build a whole deck around him tho.
Hey Danny, what deck do you recommend for laddering atm?
Shaman is still king right now. Played around with 6 different decks this season. My Mid Shaman is 6-0.
Lesson learned from my game (reno warlock) vs opponent (control warrior). I was winning the entire game, forced out two brawls, have jaraxus in play with 6/6 hero power. Opponent had to elise and play 6/6 taunt to change his cards to legendaries. He's top decking legendarys and plays chogall 7/7 minion on board. Instead of removing the 7/7 on board, I played N'zoth to set up my lethal as i've played a deathrattle taunt (2/3 with deathrattle) prior. I did not know N'zoth spawns RANDOM deathrattle minions. I thought it was in the order of play. Therefore no taunt and he lethal me with the 7/7.

It's a tricky one so pref it's best to play not many deathrattles to get sth that is valuable.

This season seems harder then others, maybe it's just me tho.
I have a hard time deciding what deck to pick, I used pirate warrior and also face/secret hunter. But they don't seem to have that great of a winrate. So do I just need to play more with those decks or are there any other decks performing really good?
You need to get better at those face decks. lol since they are the easiest deck to play. i played some pirate warrior and went 11-1
I started the climb late this month, and wanted to give a shot to Questing Rogue only to get destroyed again and again by the armies of Pirate warriors, they are everywhere, and they stay my most played against deck even since I switched to shaman, which does heaps better against them than poor rogue.
The midrange variant still feels strong, but slightly weakened mostly by the blow Al'Akir received with the rockbiter nerf. I'm still tinkering to find an optimal midrange build, I don't really know about bloodlust: on one hand, it is burst and mid shaman feels that much stronger when it can close out games out of nowhere, on the other hand this is also a dead brick in your hand a fair amount of time. What have you guys been playing?
After buying some packs after last weeks check, I had enough dust to craft some golden cards for my Control Warrior deck. And the big gem I used the rest of my dust on was this baby for my renolock deck

BTW. Anyone miss the old Legendary Rank icons where the numerals are a lot larger? I have the squint to see the new format.

What's the easiest deck to reach legend this month, gonna give it another try.
Woeden#1173 - NA
Rank 10 atm purely with control warrior. I'm so excited! :)
Legend: April 2017, April 2018.
I kinda bought into the idea that it would be a shaman dominated meta so I put this deck together.

Yes I'd like to know the best Shaman deck after the nerfs :)

Standard was annoying me so much, so I decided... Why not give Wild a try? Tyrande came out and I crafted this two things:
Lightbomb
N'Zoth, the Corruptor
Both golden, yeah.
